New Life Prayer Centre and Church founder Pastor Ezekiel Odero has urged believers to remain connected to God even after experiencing breakthroughs, warning that some challenges arise when people distance themselves from the source of their blessings.
Speaking in a TikTok video shared on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Pastor Odero said many people become deeply committed to prayer during difficult seasons but change their relationship with God once their situations improve.
The preacher noted that some people seek God while facing struggles, promising devotion and commitment, but later abandon their faith after receiving blessings such as employment, healing or financial success.
“You got blessed and found a job, but left Christ, and now you are falling. You got blessed, and you were healed, but you left Christ, and now you are falling. You were blessed, and your child got a scholarship, but you stopped going to church,” Pastor Odero said.
Returning to God After Breakthroughs
Pastor Odero questioned why some people stop prioritising their faith after receiving the very answers they prayed for.
He said excuses such as being too busy or living far from church often replace the dedication people showed when they were seeking help.
“The church you keep talking about is far from where you stay. It is like me now claiming fasting is hard or going to buy things for God is hard, and all I want is to sit and eat,” he said.
The preacher reminded believers that many people go through periods of prayer, fasting and humility when they are asking God for a breakthrough.
“But when I was crying to God to lift me, I was fasting and praying, and I was so humble to God,” he said.
A Call to Remain Faithful
Pastor Odero encouraged those who have drifted away after experiencing success to reconnect with God and remember where their blessings came from.
“Please, no, my son. Go back to the God who lifted you and who gave you that job,” he advised.
He further claimed that some people continue struggling despite having financial resources because they have lost their spiritual connection.
“That is why you are suffering, and that is why you lost your job. That is why you get money, but the money is not helping you. It is just a piece of advice,” he added.
His remarks sparked conversations among followers, with many reflecting on the importance of maintaining faith during both difficult and successful seasons of life.
