Germany-based Kenyan TikToker Nyako has announced that she is stepping away from TikTok live sessions, marking the end of a chapter that made her one of the most talked-about Kenyan personalities on the platform.
Speaking during a TikTok livestream on Sunday, May 17, 2026, Nyako said she no longer wants to spend long hours online and is now focusing on living what she described as a more normal and private life.
The outspoken creator explained that she wants to move away from the pressures associated with constant livestreaming and social media attention.
“I want to pay taxes like everyone else. I want to now live a normal life like everyone else, not always being here on TikTok. I wish you guys well and thank you for the beautiful journey we had together,” she said.
Plans to step back from livestreaming
Nyako clarified that although she may continue sharing occasional videos and photo updates on her page, she does not intend to keep hosting livestreams as frequently as before.
“On my feed I might be posting videos and photo updates, but there will be no more lives. I will not be going live anymore,” she stated.
The TikToker also thanked her supporters for standing by her throughout her social media journey, saying they had experienced both memorable highs and difficult moments together over the years.
Reflecting on her TikTok journey
During the emotional session, Nyako reflected on the experiences she shared with fans, noting that despite the controversies and challenges she encountered online, she still considered the journey meaningful and rewarding.
“I might keep my page active by just posting videos of my normal life outside TikTok, but I will not be spending hours on TikTok lives as before,” she added.
She further hinted at wanting a more stable and ordinary lifestyle away from the spotlight, saying she now desires a quieter life outside the intense attention that comes with TikTok fame.
“So guys, thanks for the journey. Thank you for knowing me. The lows and the highs were all beautiful,” Nyako said.
