Toke Makinwa questions the rationale behind beating students for late school fees

After the viral video of a young girl that was sent home for not paying her school fees, Toke Makinwa responded like this:

“I am so sick to my stomach watching this. No child should be put under pressure, no child should be humiliated and made to suffer for wanting a better life. I’ve often wondered why flogging students who can’t pay or chasing them back home or in some cases publishing their names or calling them out on assembly ground is necessary, what point are you trying to prove? Embarrass their parents? Damage their self esteem, make them a laughing stock amongst their peers??? Of what use is this act exactly? Oh you flog or send them home so their parents can feel bad and embarrassed till they find the money right?

What is the child’s offense? Do they have a source of livelihood? Why do they have to suffer? Did they ask to be born?? It has been happening from time in memorial and I think it’s time we spoke against it. Why dehumanize them? Why embarrass them? Why flog them when they clearly can’t work to afford the school fees? Why??! I understand schools need money, I understand that some of these schools are not government owned and need funding to stay open but this is a shame, we must do something about it.

What happened to dialogue with the parents? What happened to working out a payment plan???? This young princess is the leader of tomorrow and her bravery and enthusiasm broke me, that should encourage them to nurture her and not break her down. Even if we find her confidence funny, her self esteem is being bruised by the school authorities who believe they have to flog her cos her parents can’t pay them to teach her. Sad ? ???

Pls let’s join hands in saving the situation, pls anyone who can connect with her family or any school interested in giving her a scholarship, let’s stop this barbaric act it’s disgusting”.

Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has revealed what she thinks getting herself a man meanS. This was in an Instagram post, where she spoke about being afraid of being happy. According to her, she has been through so much that happiness now scares her.

She, however, revealed that she has had so many almost moments. At such times, she had to listen to her spirit’s whisper, she said.

Takin to the comments section, however, one of her followers asked her to get herself a man. In response, the OAP noted that getting a man isn’t a necessity. It is rather a luxury, she said.

Media personality, Toke Makinwa has taken to social media to lash out at men who do not participate actively in their children’s lives.

This is coming after the social media drama created by American singer, Future, over his ex’s marriage. Recall that the singer had called out his ex, Ciara and her husband, Russell Wilson. According to him, Russell allows the Level Up crooner control the marriage.

Toke Makinwa reacts to Future’s claims.

Noting that the American rapper is pained because someone has stepped in to perform his duties, Toke praised single mothers. Stating, however, that Russell is his MCM for the week, she describes Future as bitter.

She therefore prays that deadbeat dads would one day become step fathers to their own children.

Toke Makinwa sure has secret admirers who give her gifts most time and now another rich admirer gifted her a 460k perfume. She shared this on her instastory.

As the year is coming to a gradual end, everyone seems to be taking records of the high and low points of their times. Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has also taken to Twitter to talk about the things she did this year, which she is proud of.

Popular OAP, Vlogger and entrepreneur, Toke Makinwa has revealed that she no longer has a speck, when it comes to her choice of men.

This was in an Instagram post, where she thanked God for her growth process. She congratulated herself, while she noted this.

Toke Makinwa says she’s over dark guys.

While she says she no longer have a spec, the beautiful lady singled out dark chocolaty skinned guys whom she seems to be head over heels about in the past.

According to her, she no longer finds them attractive.

She wrote:

“Congrats TM you are growing. I no longer have a spec. I find dark chocolatey guys not attractive anymore. The lord is good”.

Recall that she was formerly married to Maje Ayida, a fitness expert, who fits into this description.

Popular OAP, Vlogger and business woman, Toke Makinwa, has in her new vlog series, spoken to people who stay in relationships for too long.

According to her, long term relationships do not always translate to a happy home. She can say this because she has been in the same condition, she said. Two and a half years is enough to know someone, she added.

Recall that the entrepreneur got a divorce from her estranged husband, Maje Ayida, last year.

Giving an example of Cassie and Diddy’s relationship, Toke said she was almost moved to tears when she heard of their breakup. Diddy has always had issues with commitment, she said.

”I do not understand why you should date someone for more than two and a half years. That is my take. I feel like if you meet someone, two years is decent, two and half years is decent, By three years, its like ‘what again are your trying to find out’.

What didn’t you find out in the first and second year. I feel like 5 years is taking the piece and for seven years, you are absolutely having a laugh. By 10 years, it’s like ”are you the lord of the rings? I can say this because I have been in a long term relationship so I can tell you how I feel about it.

My answer is no because I feel like often times, long courtships do not translate to a happy marriage. Sometimes you find people who date forever and when they get married, they don’t make it past that year or two or three years. You find people who get married in a year and a half and 10 years down the line, they are still together. When people show you who they are, you have to believe them.

If you find yourself in a five year, seven years 10 years relationship, it is enough for you to sit back and ask the guy what is going on and where are we going to? Why would you want to date someone for seven years.

In that seven years, some people have gotten together, gotten married, had children, divorced and you are still this person’s girlfriend. There is nothing that you would not find out in three years that you want to find out in eight years. 

 

On the recent breakup between Cassie and Diddy, Toke said:

Cassie and Diddy everyone is talking about. They dated for eleven years. She was a baby when they met. This was a girl who came out, had an amazing single, very stunning young lady, all of a sudden she started dating Diddy. A lot of people asked questions because we have all known Diddy as a guy who has found it had to commit.

He has had babymamas, he was engaged for a very long time. He has never hidden the fact that he is not the commitment type of guy. I have always often wondered why Cassie stayed that long. This is a girl that could have done so much more in the last eleven years than traveling with Diddy, kissing him on Instalive and just being his girlfriend.

If you are stuck in a relationship with someone who can empower you and all they would rather see you as is a hand bag, girl you should walk away. It seemed like she was more into the relationship than her own self development.

I don’t know her and this is not judgement against her because people do whatever it is that makes them happy but I feel that a lot of people tend to date for a long time, hoping that it would either lead to marriage and sometimes it’s often not the case. And now Diddy is dating a younger girl. I almost cried when I heard it. A 26 year old girl.

Cassie if you ever watch the video, you have to upgrade. You have to go and find a Russian billionaire. You know the type if you don’t like to work, they would keep you in Gucci and Gold for the rest of your life. Then just hire Diddy to perform at your wedding. Just hire him because you feel like paying him some coins. That is the best revenge you can give to a guy like that.

According to what we can deduce, the OAP hasn’t made the news public yet. Her lawyer is currently signing papers to that regards. The house which is said to be located by Linda Ikeji’s mansion, is said to worth millions of Naira. Two Hundred and Sixty Million Naira, actually. SDK also notes that the source stated that the house is fully paid for.
