Willy Paul is not only a gospel singer but a fashion trend setter judging from how he dresses. Unlike most celebrities I like to believe that he prefers shopping at thrift shops (mtumba) giving him a unique look unlike the likes of Bahati and many others.
Though his outfits may cost about ksh 2000 and above, I have every reason to believe that sometimes he gets out of his comfort zone to purchase classy things like the shoes I recently saw on his gram.
Well, the singer stepped out wearing Jordan trunner that are estimated to cost around 11k to 14k putting him on the list of local celebrities who are known to ball when it comes to their shoes.

Though one cannot be too sure as to whether he bought the shoes from local stores in the country or when he was away in the United States – all we know is that his sense of style is at the top.
Zari Hassan is a smart woman who started off as a socialite when in her early 20’s. She however graduated to a singer after marrying her late ex husband Ivan Don who changed her life over night.
She instantly become famous and if you did not know she also happens to have a couple of music videos on instagram from back in the day. What’s more surprising is that she now looks younger than back in the day leaving me wondering whether she has been enhancing her looks.
Judging from the videos I came across there is no doubt that the mother of 5 has definitely had some work done on her and this is because she can afford the expensive surgeries that have been making her look like a 20 year old girl.

The station is aimed at promoting and give opportunity to the local content producers giving them a platform to showcase their talents. True to its name Raia TV is targeted to resonate with the normal ‘Mwananchi’ –Raia.

Though Broadcasting from Mombasa Rai TV station will also be viewed in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, Meru and Nyeri before rolling out countrywide. Others will also be able to watch us on our online stream and soon we shall be launching a VOD platform.
This station will increase uptake of local content and hence more job opportunities for the youth in Kenya. Raia TV will make it possible for Kenyans at large to enjoy the digital divided.
She may not be married but she understands the importance of a family. So far we all know that Caroline Mutoko has a lovely daughter by the name of Nduku who she prefers to keep off her social media pages due to her young age and also for privacy reasons.

Death is a rite of passage that we will all have to go through someday. It however comes like a thief in the night to steal what we love most and for this reason many find it hard to accept the dark cloud it brings our way.
The Kenyan film industry is currently moaning the death of one of their own actress Maureen Wanza who died on Tuesday while welcoming her first child in Kilifi. From the reports making rounds on social media, the lady is said to have over bled while welcoming her child who died moments later after birth.

Seems that the hospital she had been admitted to was facing the ongoing nurses strike that has lasted for over 20 weeks now. Not quite sure whether the late actress was left unattended at the hospital but all we know is that her death has left most of her colleagues in disbelief.
The lady will be remembered for her talent which was portrayed in local shows such as Sumu and Almasi among other shows. She was indeed a happy soul judging from her photos which are currently making rounds on social media.

It is no secret that singer Bahati had a humble beginning before getting where he is now. After losing his mother, the young man was forced to live in Mathare slums where he was exposed to the hard life but this is not what fate had in store for him.

Comedian cum media personality Jalang’o is among the renown entertainers we have in the country but unlike many, he likes to keep his private life off social media.
So far we know he has an adorable daughter with his ex Cheptoek Boyoare but we have never really understood the nature of their relationship. Many assume that the two are married while others see their relationship as the on and off type but this is not true.

Just recently his baby mama Cheptoek Boyoare came out to reveal the nature of their relationship in a lengthy post shared on her gram. Judging from what she wrote, these two are just friends and ex lovers who are just coparenting since they have a child together. She wrote saying;

It has always been hard for most men to raise other men’s children making most women raise the kids as single mums but this is something that is now coming to an end judging from how men from this generation are acting.

According to Phil Karanja who is Catherine Kamau’s fiancé, raising someone else’s child is not hard nor is it something to be ashamed about. He revealed this while speaking on an interview with Pulse where he revealed that his fiancé’s son calls him dad.
He went on to add that his family is actually happy with him now that he has found a woman who is an experienced mother and a loving lady who will someday a good mother to their chiidren.

“Before i got pregnant i had a horrible track record of eating various things and eating healthy. I would have six slices of white bread for breakfast, i would have pizzas and chicken chips and just greasy things because i love them. I got pregnant and for the first trimester leading up to second trimester as well i had the worst morning sickness. It was so bad, i was smelling food and would throw up and i had to take medication for that to just help my body to keep some food so i could nourish my little one. I genuinely tried to eat healthy and thankfully my body transitioned into this phase where i actually liked greens in fact one of the things i did when i was pregnant is when i woke up one morning and i was craving a salad for breakfast. At the very beginning i asked my obstetrician to give me an idea of how much weight she thought i should add or average on the weight spectrum. The main thing that helped me loose my baby weight was breast feeding. second thing is diet.”

Mr Mutura and his 23 year old wife are the latest parents in town as they welcomed their new born baby last week on Friday as revealed through several news outlets in the country.
The couple welcomed a healthy baby boy at the at the Komarock Modern Hospital in Nairobi – however we are not sure whether she had a normal delivery or she underwent a C-section but the good thing is that they are now proud parents of a baby boy named Blessing.

At what age did you start becoming fascinated with fashion?
I have always loved fashion. I loved dressing up on Sundays and on Christmas. I watched all the TV fashion shows and magazines I could find during my youth. While at boarding school for my secondary education I sometimes organized fashion shows for my fellow students, dressing up in bed sheets, Khangas and whatever odd pieces of clothing we could lay hands on. It’s always been in me.
Your site, Style by Silvia was inspired by your daughter Nielsine. What do you hope for your daughter’s futures?
As all parents I wish the very best for my daughter. I want her to be happy and well-adjusted and have a wonderful childhood. These days you are not seeing many photos of her on myblog since I want to protect her privacy and just enjoying being a little girl. I do post her pictures sometimes; she is very fashion conscious and keenly interested in my fashion, makeup and photography. However, I would be very proud if she grew up to pursue the
things she loves, my goal is to equip her for a life of success.

So far how’s the experience so far in blogging ever since you started?
I came to love my blogging more than my other professional activities quite early on I chose to turn it into my primary career and sole source of income as opposed to my original field of study a BSC in food Science and Technology and my subsequent work as a fashion stylist after fashion school. With all its ups and downs, I have never come to regret this decision and have even widened my area of focus by creating a new blog in addition to Style by Silvia. It’s an online magazine called Style Yetu www.styleyetu.com to which I am now devoting more and more of my time and efforts.
How supportive have your folks been in your career?
My parents are very traditional and as most people they honestly don’t understand fully what blogging and being a social media influnecer is as a career, but they are of course excited to watch my work and see my newspaper columns, they do appreciate the value of what I do and the support it is getting from various quarters.
Who would you say is your number one fashion inspiration?
Her Highness Sheika Moza Bint Nasser or Qatar, her style is modest, classy, and classic. Everything I would ever hope my style to finally evolve into. What is the biggest tip you have for anyone want to start a fashion blog or website? Unless you are simply blogging for fun, it rapidly develops into a full time activity. So before you start, do make sure that you are prepared to make that investment – and most importantly choose a niche you love for your blog, so you can enjoy creating it and be appreciated as an authority on the subject.

You have a lot of followers to your blog how did you do this? How important has social media been in ensuring your blog is visible to a larger audience?
Building up a community of followers and regular readers of a blog is an uphill battle and
success doesn’t come overnight. I am convinced that initially most followers came to my
blog because they recognized my professional competence and authority – and probably also
simply because they loved my style. Social media have all along been key to creating
increasing awareness of the blog and even with the large audience I have today I will always
share new posts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The social media scene is constantly
growing and there will always me many more potential readers to take on board.
Once you’ve got the followers how do you keep them?
Consistency is the key. My followers are there mainly because they like what I’m posting about, so I try to stick to those themes. Putting up posts regularly is of course also essential to keep them coming back, but otherwise my top priority is to live up to my own quality expectations rather than focusing specifically on gaining followers. If I like what I do, so will they.
Who does your amazing photography? How important is communication between yourself and the photographer that you work with? What sorts of things do you do to prepare yourself for an upcoming shoot?
I work with a range of photographers occasionally including friends and family members who might be on the spot. The communication with the guy behind the camera is absolute key to a successful shoot – it’s a true team work. Preparing for a shoot requires the identification of the venue or location including in some cases the permission to shoot there and most importantly piecing together the outfits I shall be wearing (garments, shoes and
accessories). For high quality shoots I always rely on last-minute inputs from a hair dresser and a makeup artist. Although, I try to not go over the top with my shoots and keep them as reasonably relate-able as I can without losing the high quality that I always aim for.
Name the top three things in your styling kit that are must-haves?
Safety pins, super glue and double sided tape.
What is the biggest challenge about fashion blogging & Styling?
The biggest challenge in fashion styling is to gain a deep understanding of what your client needs, let them accept your creative direction so you can execute the job accordingly.Blogging has many challenges but among the most important is to post regular content of consistently high quality to keep your followers and readers engaged and make them comeback for more.
How are you making money through blogging & styling?
Styling is a straight forward profession where you are paid for a given styling job by the client. Blogging on the other hand allows you to make money in different ways from charging fees for advertisements on social media platforms, attending events, to long-term agreements with major brands that will pay you for promotional content (article and photos) on the blog.
What fashion item do you spend a lot of money on?
I love to attend red carpet and other gala events in the fashion and entertainment world and
am prepared to spend serious money on exquisite gowns and outfits for these special
What do you love most about blogging & Styling?
These days I only take up specific styling engagements but concentrate more on my blogging activities. I love that I am able to write and show photos about subjects close to my heart including fashion, beauty, travel and motherhood. I also love that I am my own boss and can work from home or anywhere. I love to travel and for the past 3 years I have been lucky to feed my wanderlust across the world thanks to my blogging career – a dream come true.
How many times a week do you post?
On my personal blog Style by Silvia I try to post at least once or twice a week if I have the proper content. On Style Yetu, I normally put up an average of one or two posts per day. However, my social media platforms will have content shared each and every day.
How do you stay updated on the current trends?
Staying updated on current international trends is the key to success in everything I do professionally. Luckily the potential sources of information are among my favourite platforms on the Internet and TV including fashion blogs, Instagram pages, fashion shows and pop culture programs and I enjoy every minute of my research browsing time. I follow people that inspire me so I am always feeding my brain with images of beautiful clothes, makeup and art.

If given the chance I would love to style celebrity couple Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade, they are beautiful! The celebrity most in need of a fashion makeover is hahaha I cannot say that here.

Is there special recognition you’ve received while styling and blogging?
Already back in 2015 I earned the BAKE awards for Best Kenyan Fashion/Beauty/Hair/Style Blog as well as Kenyan Blog of the Year and the following year I was nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award for Best Blog in Africa. Most recently I was named Best Blogger at the Abryanz Fashion and Style Awards in Uganda. I also won a Kenya Fashion award as the best Kenyan stylist of the year in 2015.

I recently went vegan, It’s been close to 5 months now and I want to make it part of my life

Where do you see yourself as a blogger & Stylist in the next five years?
I am already phasing my styling activities out more and more and don’t plan to do any active styling five years from now. Tanzania socialite Hamisa Mobetto this past weekend celebrated her son’s 40 days since he was born and as promised earlier, she made sure to throw him one of the biggest parties witnessed in East Africa.

Unfortunately she did not invite many to come see her son but for the few who attended, they have confirm that Abdul Naseeb looks like the baby daddy therefore no DNA is needed.
Away from all the shenanigans Hamisa Mobetto shared a short prayer that she decided to her main man as she is said to be still living in fear as several threats have been made towards her son’s life.

However she unfortunately suffered a wardrobe malfunction that left one of her nips out which later caused a stir online as fans rushed to criticize her sense of fashion. But judging from her reactions the lass seemed unbothered as the photo was taken randomly thus catching her of guard.

We all remember the sexy St8t-up presenter Tero Mdee who ruled the airwaves a few years ago before she changed her life moments after getting married to a pastor who is believed to have influenced her ways only she can understand.
Well, the lady who had a killer figure and was also known for her good taste in fashion kissed the entertainment industry goodbye as she chose to carter for her new family back in Tanzania.

Terro however allegedly denounced her family name as she now goes by the name of Nancy Hebron and from what we hear is that she is neither in contact with her mother nor her siblings.
But just recently she released her first gospel song dubbed Taa ya miguu yangu which is basically a praise and worship song done in Swahili. This comes a few months after her youngest sister Mimi mars also decided her sister (Vanessa Mdee) in the Tanzanian music industry and judging from how they are doing – there is no doubt that these ladies will soon be the hottest female artists in Africa.
