Eric Omondi Hints On What Might Have Costed His ‘Marriage’

Comedian Eric Omondi has weighed in on the challenges facing young couples, stating that one of the reasons marriages are failing is the shift in traditional gender roles due to women’s empowerment.

Speaking to YouTubers on Monday, September 22, 2025, Omondi noted a stark contrast between older generations and today. He said that his grandparents’ and even his parents’ marriages seemed stable, but today, he sees breakups happening on a daily and weekly basis. He added that he struggles to find a single happy, lasting marriage among his own friends and family.

“Marriage has become hard, bro,” he said. “People are breaking up on a daily and weekly basis. You do not know how sad it is. I will not mention names, and this includes my friends and family.

The Shift in Gender Roles

Omondi attributes a significant part of this trend to the evolving dynamics between men and women. He explained that in the past, men were seen as the unquestioned head of the household. Now, however, women are achieving financial independence, earning more than men, and taking a stronger leadership role in relationships.

While Omondi acknowledged that this empowerment of women is a positive step toward equality, he believes it has created friction in marriages. He suggested that some men are struggling to adjust to a new reality where they must share authority.

“In Africa, we used to believe that the man is the head of the house, but now women are earning money and surpassing men,” Omondi said. “I think this is a good thing. Women have been empowered, the girl child has been empowered, and equality has been promoted… this is positive.”

Eric Omondi’s sentiments come just a few months after his public break-up with baby mama Lynne Njihia. The two decided to part ways but their main reason for separation has been under wraps. What’s your take on Eric Omondi’s opinion on marriage nowadays?

“I Didn’t Believe It Was An Accident”: Eric Omondi Opens Up On Brother’s Tragic Death

Renowned comedian and activist Eric Omondi has opened up about the deep emotional turmoil he experienced following the tragic death of his brother, fellow comedian Fred Omondi. In a candid interview on the Mic Cheque podcast, Eric revealed that he has not fully healed from the loss, which happened so fast it left him in a state of disbelief.

Eric explained that when he first learned of the accident, he immediately suspected foul play. He recounted going to the hospital and accusing staff of killing his brother, unable to comprehend that it was a simple accident. His suspicions were fueled by the fact that his activism was at its peak, having visited Parliament several times just before his brother’s death.

A Desperate Search for Answers

Driven by his doubt, Eric began a desperate search for answers. He demanded to be taken to the scene of the crash and questioned the whereabouts of the motorcycle, a process he says was met with delays. He eventually found the boda boda at a police station and tracked down the driver of the minibus involved in the accident.

“I could not believe it because the coincidence was too much for me,” he said.

The truth of the matter began to sink in only after he learned that the boda boda rider was also being buried. This tragic detail finally convinced him that it had indeed been an accident, allowing him and his family to begin the difficult process of mourning and burying Fred.

Eric Omondi Gifts Shalkido Motorbike and Supplies in Heartfelt Act of Support

In a powerful show of solidarity, comedian Eric Omondi, popularly known as the “President of Comedy Africa,” has stepped in to support Gengetone artist Shalkido with a brand-new motorbike and essential household supplies.

The gesture, shared through a video on social media, captured an emotional moment as Omondi handed over the keys to the motorbike—a gift not only meant for transport but as a tool for income generation, giving Shalkido a chance to rebuild and provide for his family.

Alongside the motorbike, Omondi delivered a stock of staple foods, including unga, sugar, and cooking oil, addressing the artist’s immediate household needs.

In his message, Omondi stressed the importance of community support during times of struggle.

“When a man is down, when a man opens up and says amejaribu kutoka kwa shimo anashindwa… there is no shame in asking for help,” he wrote, underscoring the values of humility, strength, and mutual aid.

The initiative was carried out under the spirit of Team Sisi Kwa Sisi, a movement encouraging creatives to uplift and support one another.

Shalkido, once part of the Gengetone wave that reshaped Kenya’s music scene, has openly shared the financial difficulties he has faced—challenges that reflect the harsh realities many local artists endure despite their contributions to the industry.

Omondi’s timely intervention not only provides practical help but also sends a larger message: that fame does not always guarantee financial stability, and solidarity within the creative community is essential.

This is not the first time Omondi has used his platform to address the social and economic struggles facing artists. Frequently blending comedy with activism, he has consistently leveraged his influence to spark change and deliver tangible support.

The move has been widely praised, with fans and fellow artists commending him for his compassion and leadership. For Shalkido, the motorbike represents more than mobility—it is a new beginning, a chance to secure his livelihood and care for his loved ones.

Eric Omondi and Lynne Njihia first revealed their relationship in 2023 when they announced they were expecting Kyla. Their daughter’s birth in August 2023 brought immense joy, but their journey as a couple later encountered challenges.

“I’ve decided to end my relationship with Eric Omondi. It wasn’t easy, but it’s what’s best for my peace, growth, and the future I envision for myself and my daughter,” she shared on social media.

Commitment to Co-Parenting

Despite their breakup, both Omondi and Lynne have remained dedicated to co-parenting Kyla, ensuring she grows up surrounded by love and support.

Eric Omondi Pens Emotional Tribute to Fallen Protesters, Urges Gen Z to Hold on to Hope

Kenyan comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi has once again turned to his platform to deliver a heartfelt message of faith, grief, and resilience amid ongoing national protests. Taking to Instagram following the requiem mass of Boniface Kariuki—a young mask vendor who died during recent demonstrations—Omondi reflected deeply on the lives lost and the future of Kenya.

In a moving post, Omondi revealed that he lingered at the church long after the service ended, choosing a moment of solitude and prayer.

“I stayed behind to speak with God. I brought my supplications before HIM,” he wrote. “I mentioned Rex, I remembered Eric Shiani, Kennedy Onyango, Albert Ojwang, Boniface Kariuki, and the hundreds that we have lost.”

His words come as Kenya grapples with a wave of youth-led protests triggered by economic frustrations, governance concerns, and controversial tax policies. The demonstrations have swept across the country and resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries, drawing both national and international attention.

Omondi, who has increasingly taken on the role of a people’s advocate, offered a message anchored in spiritual conviction and unwavering belief in justice.

“I talked to God about tomorrow, that it may be better and brighter than today. I pleaded that He may come with us, that He may go ahead of us,” he shared, adding confidently, “The battle belongs to Him. ONLY VICTORY WILL BE OURS.”

He vowed that the sacrifices made during these turbulent times would not be forgotten.

“There will be a new Kenya. Every blood shed, every life lost WILL NOT BE IN VAIN. Pain may endure for a night but joy will come in the morning.”

In a rousing message to Kenya’s youth—especially Gen Z, who have been at the forefront of the protests—Omondi called for strength and unity.

“To the Gen Zs, KEEP YOUR HEAD HIGH, keep fighting. God is on our side, and if HE IS FOR US then WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?”

Once known solely for his comedic genius, Omondi has transformed into a powerful voice for justice and change. His activism, particularly in the wake of the recent unrest, reflects a deep commitment to advocating for accountability, dignity, and a more equitable future for Kenya’s younger generation.

Eric Omondi Disappointed After Albert Ojwang’s Father Accepts KSh 2 Million From President Ruto

Popular Kenyan comedian and activist Eric Omondi has expressed deep disappointment with Meshack Ojwang’, the father of the late blogger Albert Ojwang’, after he accepted a KSh 2 million donation from President William Ruto.

Omondi conveyed strong emotions, stating that he had worked tirelessly to rally public support for Albert’s family following the blogger’s tragic death while in police custody.

Meshack Ojwang’ confirmed that President William Ruto had called the family to offer condolences and a KSh 2 million contribution towards funeral expenses. This comes after Opposition leader Raila Odinga also donated KSh 1 million to Ojwang’s family and extended his condolences from abroad.

Eric Omondi reiterated that accepting money from the very government he blames for Albert’s death undermines the cause he has been actively supporting. According to Omondi, Kenyans have already donated over KSh 10 million to the family, making the president’s donation unnecessary.

“We shared the father’s number, ‘ikajaa’ (it filled up), that is KSh 1 million. We then shared his second number, it also was filled, then we shared that of his mum, the widow and they all filled. I also opened a paybill for the family which is under the wife and mother. As we speak, that paybill has KSh 2.6 million,” Eric stressed, detailing the extent of public generosity.

While these actions might be seen as compassion from top government officials, Eric Omondi explained that accepting money from the government was a disloyal act to the Kenyans who had already donated.

Kenyans on social media have had mixed reactions. Some sympathize with Albert Ojwang’s father, suggesting that tough economic times might have influenced his decision to accept the donation. Others, however, share Omondi’s disappointment, arguing that taking money from the system supposedly responsible for his son’s death is contradictory.

Eric Omondi Honors Late Brother Fred Omondi with Emotional Father’s Day Tribute

Eric Omondi has paid heartfelt tribute to his late brother, comedian Fred Omondi, marking one year since his untimely death. In an emotional Instagram post, Eric reflected on Fred’s enduring influence — both within their family and in Kenya’s comedy landscape.

“Today marks exactly one year since we lost a legend. We will make you proud. Tomorrow is a better day,” Eric wrote. As the anniversary coincided with Father’s Day 2025, he added, “I choose to celebrate you this Father’s Day juu wewe ni baba yao,” recognizing Fred’s role as a father figure in their lives.

The message included a poignant vow: “As you rest, we will not rest until we see a better day for ourselves, our children, and generations to come,” underscoring Eric’s continued dedication to advocacy and uplifting communities — a mission that has become even more personal since Fred’s passing.

Fred Omondi tragically died in a road accident in June 2024, a loss that shook the nation. The comedy world and fans alike mourned his death, remembering his unique style, sharp wit, and vibrant presence on “Churchill Show.” Through his clever skits and relatable commentary, Fred built a loyal following and left a lasting imprint on Kenyan comedy.

Eric’s tribute transforms this day of remembrance into a call for hope and progress. Fans have responded warmly, sharing messages of support and fond memories of Fred’s unforgettable performances.

Eric Omondi’s Ex-Girlfriend Chantal Grazioli Goes Viral After Birthday Photos Emerge, Here’s Why

Former girlfriend of Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, Chantal Grazioli, is currently trending online after sharing photos from her birthday celebration, including one where she is seen kissing another woman.

Omondi and Grazioli were a popular couple, known for their four-year relationship that often set “couple goals” for their fans. Eric even famously put up a billboard in her honor. Their split in 2019 left many fans heartbroken.

In recently shared birthday snaps, Chantal appeared radiant, with her black hair framing her face and accessorized with black sunglasses. One photo showed her smiling in front of a beautiful brown cake. However, it was a picture of her kissing a red-haired woman by the poolside that has garnered significant attention and sparked reactions online.

Fans were quick to question whether she decided to join the queer community

Details of Eric, Chantal Public Breakup

Eric Omondi and Chantal Grazioli’s separation was a mutual and amicable decision, largely attributed to the challenges of a long-distance relationship and differing career paths.

Chantal, being Italian, had always been in Kenya on a tourist visa, which prevented her from seeking formal employment. According to Eric, she expressed a desire to return to Italy to establish a career there. Eric supported her decision, acknowledging that he didn’t want to hold her back from pursuing her own aspirations.

In May 2019, both Eric and Chantal shared heartfelt posts on social media announcing their split. Eric wrote a long message wishing her the best in her “new phase in life,” emphasizing that they had parted on good terms. Chantal reciprocated, stating;

“I love Eric and I will always love him and we are okay; we created the best of moments together, we shared our dreams and visions but most importantly we shared our lives. And I will always cherish every single moment.” She also clarified that it was “not a goodbye, it’s more like a see you later,” indicating a continued friendship.

Eric later explained in interviews that he felt he was “suffocating” Chantal by her staying idle in Kenya while he was busy with his comedy career. He felt it was time for them to set each other free so she could pursue her own meaningful endeavors. Despite the public nature of their relationship, their breakup was notably civil and respectful, serving as a testament to their strong bond even after parting ways romantically.

Eric Omondi Addresses Split with Lynne Njihia, Deletes Emotional Post Shortly After

Veteran comedian and renowned human rights activist Eric Omondi has spoken out following his much-speculated separation from his partner and baby mama, Lynne Njihia. In a rare moment of vulnerability, Omondi seemed to confirm that the breakup is real and not a publicity stunt—only to delete his message from social media shortly after posting it.

The 43-year-old, known for both his comic genius and activism, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a cryptic but emotional message, writing, “Dust is constant even after 40,”—a popular Kenyan phrase that reflects the inevitable messiness of life, especially in matters of the heart. However, the post was quietly taken down just a few hours later, leaving fans divided.

Some followers believe the couple is building hype for an upcoming project, accusing them of orchestrating a “clout chase.” Others, however, view the deleted post as a moment of emotional honesty, with Omondi choosing to step back and protect his family from the public eye.

The conversation around their breakup intensified last week when Lynne, a digital content creator and media influencer, confirmed via Instagram Stories that she had parted ways with Omondi. In her message, she cited personal peace, growth, and her vision for the future as the driving forces behind her decision.

“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Eric Omondi. It wasn’t easy, but it’s what’s best for my peace, growth, and the future I envision for myself and my daughter,” she wrote.

The announcement came as a surprise to many, especially since the couple had recently returned from a vacation in Dubai celebrating Lynne’s 24th birthday. During the trip, Omondi had shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to Lynne, calling her “the love of my life” and expressing love from both himself and their daughter, Kyla.

“Happy Birthday to the Love of my life… The Mother of my Child. May all your dreams come true, baby. Mimi and @kyla.omondi are here cheering you on, babyyyy. We LOVE YOU so much,” he wrote at the time.

Lynne, meanwhile, had emphasized that her primary focus at 24 would be advancing her modeling career. She revealed she had secured a contract with a UK-based agency and was prepared to relocate if necessary for the sake of her career and her daughter.

As speculation continues to swirl, one thing remains clear: Eric Omondi’s journey—from comedic stardom to activism, and now personal transformation—continues to capture the attention of a deeply invested audience. Whether this chapter marks the end or simply a new beginning, only time will tell.

Eric Omondi Defends Wife Lynn Njihia Amid Weight Loss Criticism

Eric Omondi has come to the defense of his wife, Lynn Njihia, following public discussions about her significant weight loss after giving birth to their daughter.

Lynn’s transformation has sparked debate on social media, with many speculating about the reasons behind her drastic change. In a recent interview with Trudy Kituyi, Eric addressed the criticism, emphasizing that Lynn is young and has the right to look and feel her best.

Responding to claims that her weight loss might be due to stress from their relationship, Eric dismissed the rumors. “People will always have something to say. If she had gained weight, they would have talked. Now that she has lost weight, they are still talking. What do they expect?” he remarked, highlighting the constant scrutiny women face over their bodies.

He further questioned societal expectations, stating, “Lynn is young—do people expect her to gain weight and look like a mother figure? If she had put on weight, they would have told her to go to the gym. Now that she works out, they claim she’s stressed. Let Lynn enjoy herself, slay, and feel good.”

Lynn previously shared her fitness journey in late 2024, revealing that she had lost 17kg over eight months through consistency and discipline. “This is what 8 months of dedication gets you. 17KGS DOWN! It wasn’t easy—it took sweat and tears. I feel lighter, healthier, and amazing to be a size Small. I AM PROUD OF MYSELF,” she wrote.

While many applauded her commitment, others expressed nostalgia for her curvier figure. Some fans encouraged her to maintain her current weight, while others urged her not to lose more.

The conversation around body image remains subjective, with different beauty standards shaping people’s opinions. While curvier figures are often celebrated as “thick” and desirable, slim physiques are also admired for their elegance and fitness.

Despite mixed reactions, one thing is certain—Lynn is proud of her transformation, and as Eric Omondi put it, “As long as she loves how she looks, that’s what matters.”

Eric Omondi has provided an update on an elderly man whose situation gained attention after he was denied a life-saving dialysis procedure amid ongoing confusion surrounding the transition from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

James Kanyore, 76, became emotional while recounting his experience on Citizen TV, where he revealed that he was sent home without receiving dialysis because the hospital requested payment for the procedure—costs that were previously covered by NHIF. Both of his kidneys have failed, and without support, being denied access to this essential treatment could lead to dire consequences.

Celebs who could be voted into government if they vied

With celebrities coming together to condemn the recent Finance Bill, it got me wondering, which of these celebs could actually vie for office to make a change from within? Here is my list of celebrities who I think could actually be voted into government if they vied:

1. Eric Omondi

The man has recently rebranded into a philanthropist and nothing connects with Kenyans like some well meaning generosity. Babu Owino has already come out in public to state that ODM is preparing a seat for him in Nairobi

2. Lynn Ngugi

The “Oprah Winfrey of Kenya” has been blazing a trail with her videos uncovering the trials and tribulations ordinary Kenyans pass through. As one of the most respected and influential digital personalities in the country, she has also been known to mobilize funds for the needy through her YouTube channel. This is one of the main things voters would look for in a leader

3. Njugush

Much as he is a comedian, his content is extremely relatable with the common mwananchi. He also takes breaks from comedy every now and then to give some activist commentary on the state of Kenyan leadership, which implies that he might be looking to transition into that arena some time in the future

4. Andrew Kibe

The man already tried once to vie for the Lang’ata MP seat and failed. He might want to try again now that he is one of the most notorious Kenyans around. He would have big support from a section of men but he would struggle to gather votes from women as he has bashed them heavily in the past

5. Churchill

The expert storyteller is one of the few celebrities around who has been able to mobilize crowds across the country with his Churchill Show tours. He has also had a slot on prime time national TV for the past 17 years, which gives him name recogniti0n across the country on the same level as some of our biggest politicians

Not a Coincidence! Eric Omondi Reveals Hidden Details About the Day His Brother Died

Fred Omondi, Eric’s younger brother, died in a bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) accident on June 15. This incident occurred during a crucial period of anti-Finance Bill protests led by Eric, raising several questions about its timing.

Despite having to plan his brother’s funeral, Eric continued participating in the demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024. His decision to protest while mourning was met with criticism and curiosity from the public.

Addressing these concerns, Eric explained that his brother’s death could not deter him from fighting for what he believed in. He highlighted several unresolved aspects of the accident, questioning its coincidence with his active involvement in the protests.

“Some people said I am mourning my brother, why did I come out to demonstrate. There are theories. This is the week of the Finance Bill. Who has been at the forefront to fight for this? Eric Omondi. So, is it a coincidence that this week my brother died?” Eric questioned.

Eric shared details that intensified his suspicions. He visited the accident site and noticed bloodstains, but the motorcycle driver was nowhere to be found. Eric questioned the driver’s sudden disappearance, considering the severity of the accident.

“My brother was being carried. We went and even saw the motorcycle. But where is the driver? The accident was bad, we even saw blood there. But the driver disappeared? That impact. People say he ran away. Where is he even?” Eric pondered.

Eric Omondi’s determination to protest despite personal tragedy underscores his commitment to the cause. He believes that if his brother’s death was indeed orchestrated to distract him from the protests, it would be a grave injustice. Eric emphasized that he would not let Fred’s death be in vain and would continue to fight against the Finance Bill.

“That’s why I went to protest because even when I sleep and wake up, I feel like this theory might be true. I don’t want to speculate, but it is also life. It could be true. If they thought they would distract me from fighting against the bill, then we will not lose Freddy for nothing,” Eric stated.

For a lot of prominent personalities in Kenyan entertainment they are taking action by protesting The Bill. At the front line we have Eric Omondi  who yesterday took to the streets to arrange a demonstration against the finance bill, and also appeared on television to debate it

Then we have celebrated artist Willy Paul  who said on Instagram:

“Guys, go read the finance bill 2024. My God, kwisha!”

Arbantone Artist Maandy also chimed in:

“Call your area MP and tell them to reject the 2024 Finance Bill. Tutamalizwa!”

Betty Kyallo, a former news anchor turned business woman, had something to say about the bill.

“A BIG NO to the Finance Bill 2024. We have closed businesses, we are ailing economically as a country. We don’t need any more suffering. We need support from our government, not torment.”

Eric Omondi Demands Apology From KFCB After They Targeted YouTubers

Kenyan comedian and activist Eric Omondi is leading a call for a public apology from the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) following its recent regulations targeting YouTubers.

The controversy arose when the KFCB issued notices requiring content creators to obtain licenses for their YouTube channels and pre-approve their content before uploading. Omondi, along with other creators, saw this as disrespectful and dismissive of a thriving industry.

In a public interview, Omondi emphasized that simply withdrawing the notices wasn’t enough. He demanded a formal apology from the acting CEO within 14 days, threatening removal from office if it wasn’t issued.

“We won’t tolerate disrespect from the KFCB anymore,” Omondi declared. “Content creation is a legitimate source of income, especially for young people struggling to find jobs. The board should be supporting us, not hindering our work.”

This pressure seems to be working. Following Omondi’s statements, the KFCB chairperson, Njogu Wa Njoroge, backtracked on the regulations. He acknowledged the importance of supporting content creators and announced plans to engage with stakeholders in the digital content creation industry.

Njoroge also emphasized the need to focus on training creators on monetization and job creation within the digital media sector.
