Otile Brown’s collabo with Arrow Bwoy and Masauti dubbed ‘Lucy’ is totally fire (Video)

Kenyan singer Jacob Otieno Obunga, alias Otile Brown, has really been on a roll this year. He has released 7 songs since 2019 begun which translates to a new song every month.

Otile Brown

While all the songs are receiving massive airplay on local radio and TV stations, in my opinion none of them comes close to his latest collabo with Otile Brown and Arrow Bwoy dubbed Lucy.

The song was released about 4 days ago and it has already clocked 140,000 views on YouTube never mind the fact that it doesn’t even have a video. I don’t want to imagine what would happen if they decided to shoot a video for it.

Masauti
Masauti

Honestly, I never thought Otile and Masauti would ever do a song together. Most people think that they are sworn enemies but as it turns out, nothing could be further from the truth. They even did us one better by featuring Arrow Bwoy.

Lucy is such a beautiful composition. It is the kind of songs that you want to listen to over and over. Put simply it’s really infectious. Where is the lie?

All the three artists really come through on this song with soulful lyrics that speak directly to the heart. And no, I’m not about to start a debate about who outshone the others. Listen to the song and decide for yourself.

Arrow Bwoy
Arrow Bwoy

Interestingly, Lucy was conceptualised and released in two days. Although it was hurried, the end result was still awesome.

The song was produced by the one and only Motif Di Don and as expected, he didn’t disappoint. The beat is perfect, it has this vibe of a party anthem and a feel good song at the same time.

Listen to Lucy below and tell us what you think.

Otile Brown is becoming less popular every day

Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t but talented Kenyan singer Jacob Otieno Obunga is becoming less popular as days fly by. But then again maybe it’s just me.

Also read: Otile Brown Vs Masauti: Who’s really the king?

Gone are the days when he would garner millions of views a few days after releasing a song. These days, his songs take so many months before hitting the one million mark.

For instance, Japo Kidogo – a song he released with Khaligraph in March has 900,000 views. Anyone can tell you that this number is definitely good for many Kenyan artists but not for Otile Brown. It’s just what it is.

The Samantha hit maker had not done any interview with local media houses in the last two years. When contacted, he often told people that not doing interviews was part of his strategy.

About a fortnight ago I was astounded when I saw him on Citizen TV’s 10 over 10 promoting one of his latest releases dubbed Zichune. He was also on Milele FM and a couple of other radio stations. This really got me thinking.

Otile Brown
Otile Brown

Perhaps Otile Brown has come to the realization that he is not as popular as he was in 2018. He knew too well that doing media tours would get him back on people’s lips and as a result they would check out his music.

I have two analogies that could explain Otile Brown’s dwindling fame. One is the obvious fact that he’s no longer dating popular socialite Vera Sidika. The fact is this lass made him popular and now no one cares because they are no longer together.

Two is the emergence of Masauti, Madini Classic, Brown Mauzo, Sudi Boy and the likes. Otile Brown brought Coastal music to the national stage and when he did, he opened the doors for others who perhaps are better than him.

Watch Otile Brown’s release with Jovial dubbed Amor.

Otile Brown ventures into Lingala in new collabo with Jovial dubbed ‘Amor’ (Video)

Kenyan singer Jacob Obunga, alias Otile Brown, has dropped another jam with Afro-fusion singer Jovial.

Dubbed Amor, their new collabo was released barely a month after the two talented debuted their mega hit dubbed Zichune.

As the title suggests, their new song is a love ballad. Amor is a Spanish word that means love.

As expected, both Otile Brown and Jovial really came through in this jam. Their vocal delivery was really on point.

One of the many things that I love about Jovial is that she can change her voice from sweet-sounding to this rough but sexy voice.

Of course, we can’t fail to appreciate the Lingala vibe in the song. Maybe, just maybe, it’s the reason why this jam is an instant hit.

Jovial and Otile Brown
Jovial and Otile Brown

I love the simple shoot locations that they picked for this song. It really gives it context. In of the scenes, Jovial is seen feeding Otile Brown at a construction site. Does it get any better than that, honestly?.

Amor was directed by X Antonio and I think he did a great job, especially with the scene transitioning.

The beat, which was produced by the one and only Vicky Pon Dis, is also pretty decent. A few seconds before  the song ends, from 3:02, you’ll hear this sweet Lingala instrumental. It’s just lovely!

Jovial has been putting in a lot of work lately and believe you me, it won’t take long before she becomes  a household name.

Watch Amor below and tell us what you think.

Otile Brown confirms he is still dating his Ethiopian girlfriend!

Singer Otile Brown has lately been keeping his private life on the low – and for a minute many assumed that his Ethiopian girlfriend had dumped him.

However thanks to his recent post, we now understand that the couple is doing just fine. A few hours ago, Otile went on to share his lovers photo on Instagram confessing his undying love for her.

Judging from how he is handling his current relationship it’s evident that Otile Brown now understands the importance of keeping his love life on the low.

Otile Brown

Otile Brown and Vera’s nasty breakup

Having dated Vera Sidika before, singer Otile Brown became a catch for many women who couldn’t help but wonder how he managed to get Vera Sidika.

But as time went by socialite Vera Sidika went on to embarrass Otile Brown by exposing his ‘poor’ bedroom skills on social media; hence the nasty break up!

Anyway hopefully this will not be the case with his new found love!

Otile Brown and Vera now in talking terms: I was at her beauty parlor and had my legs done

Kenyan R&B artist, Otile Brown speaks his first since his nasty breakup with Vera, assuring fans that the two are now in good terms.

Speaking during Citizen TV´s ¨10 over 10¨, the music sensation articulates that the two have settled their differences over time.

Vera has a beautiful heart, she is caring.

But when it comes to love, there are people who don´t know how to deal with heartbreaks.

I have got nothing but love for her.

Actually we are talking, we started talking recently.

I was at her beauty parlor and had my legs done.

However, Otile reiterated fact that the curvy beauty does not know how to deal with breakups.

This comes as the first since the two part ways with a war of words witnessed between the two ex-lovers.

Otile Brown Vs Masauti: Who’s really the king?

Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t but the truth is that Masauti’s prominence in the music industry is increasing each new day. He’s finally enjoying the fruits after 5 years (or so) of nothing but hard work.

Also read: Masauti is living proof that patience pays

Since the year began, the singer, whose real name is Mohammed Ali Said, has released 5 songs which have all done extremely well in Kenya as well as outside the country.

The 5 songs are; Kiboko, Sare, Kiboko (Remix)  featuring Khaligraph Jones, Ipepete and Lola – a song that he did with Nadia Mukami.

Masauti’s sheer consistency is a clear sign that he didn’t come play. As such, it doesn’t come as a surprise that his star is shining so much so that it seems like he’s out to settle a score with Otile Brown.

Truth is, very few people gave a hoot about Coastal music a.k.a Kenyan Bongo until Otile Brown ‘used’ Vera Sidika to gain fame. He not only grew his name and following by dating the socialite, he also turned people’s attention on his music.

Masauti
Masauti

As such, you would not be wrong if you gave Otile credit for popularizing Coastal music. In one way or the other, he opened the way for the likes of Masauti, Brown Mauzo, Madini Classic, just to name a few.

The first rule from Robert Greene’s book The 48  Laws of Power states that you should never outshine the master. However, it seems the people whom Otile Brown opened the way for are out to do just that, especially Masauti.

He seems keen on snatching the crown from Otile Brown’s head. Chances are, he already has. The more he gains prominence, the less popular the latter becomes. After all, there can only be one king.

According to you, who is the king between Otile Brown and Masauti?

Otile Brown didn’t come to play! Check out his new collabo with Jovial dubbed ‘Zichune’ (Video)

Kenyan singer Jacob Obunga, better known as Otile Brown, is back with a new banger barely two months after he released Japo Kidogo alongside Khaligraph Jones.

Otile’s new song titled Zichune is a collabo with Afro-fusion singer Jovial who has been topping charts with a collabo that she released with Arrow Bwoy about a month ago dubbed Dekeza.

Zichune is a Swahili word that loosely translates to “pluck them” but in the context of this song it probably means “take it all”.

The song is about a man and a woman who are in love. The lad can’t get enough of her smile and curves. From the look of things, he is ready to risk it all for her.

However, the woman is really worldly pleasures. She wants an iPhone XS, a trip to Paris, a Channel bag, money and what have you. Seemingly, the chap does not mind and says “take it all.”

I was really impressed by the lyrical prowess of both Otile Brown and Jovial. On top of that, their voices were also pleasant to the ear. I kept replaying the song and you can’t even blame me.

Otile Brown
Otile Brown

My favourite line with is when Otile Brown says, “Sema we ni poko(poko), poko, (poko), nyoko kama mzigo uko soko(soko), soko, soko (soko), soko Sema acha longo longo nisije regret (nyoo), nisije regret, acha fuka fuko, foko, foko, foko, lazima atoboke mitoboko, boko, boko, boko, mwenyewe umejaa kwenye mboko, mboko, mboko, mboko (aah…sawa pole mama)..

I couldn’t understand that line, I just loved the rhymes.

The song was produced by the one and only Vicky Pon Dis. After mentioning that name, I don’t really need to tell you that the beat really slaps really hard. Point is, he did a decent job.

The video, which was directed by Hanscana, was also on point. I not only loved the scene transitions, the colour co-ordination was also good.

Watch Zichune below and tell us what you think. You might need some good earphones for this!

We really can’t blame Jegede for using Vera Sidika’s name to gain popularity

Every time I listen to a song by Jackson Rankama, popularly known as Jegede, I always ask myself why he’s not among the biggest musicians in Kenya. What could he be doing wrong?

Truth is, this chap who doubles up as a producer and a singer is really talented. I’m sure you are nodding in agreement, aren’t you?

Jegede made his debut in the music industry with Gudi Gudi alongside Naiboi and Kristoff. At the time, he was still with Everlast Band.

The other members of the group were Bam Ram, Baraza and Missed Call.

Everlast Band
Everlast Band

After going solo, Jegede went on to release songs such as Pare Pare, My Lover, Bolingo, Rampapa, Buju Buju, which are all great songs if you ask me.

In my opinion, Jegede is super-talented yet seriously underrated.

Also read: “I won’t disappoint you in bed,” Jegede promises Vera Sidika in his latest single (Video)

As such, it does not come as a surprise that he has going to different media houses and professing his love for Vera Sidika in what seems like a well-calculated move.

In as much as he has been saying that he has feelings for the socialite, I doubt he’s interested in her. The way I see it, he’s just using her name to gain traction and who would blame him?

Jegede
Jegede

Look at it like this, Otile Brown is one the most sought-after artists in Kenya because of his ‘relationship stunt’ with Vera Sidika.

In as much as he is talented, he needed people to listen to his music and give him the recognition that he deserved.

He knew too well that ‘dating’ a socialite and featuring her in his music videos would get people talking, so why not?

Similarly, Jegede decided to profess his love for Vera and went on to release a song in which he showers the socialite with praise.

Vera Sidika is almost hitting 70,ooo views on YouTube yet it’s barely a week old, what does that tell you?

The end justifies the means, they say. Time will tell if this strategy will work for Jegede as well.

Trouble in paradise? Otile Brown deletes his new girlfriend’s photos on social media

Word making rounds on social media is that Otile Brown might have split up with his Ethiopian girlfriend.

Well, this is after the singer decided to pull down most of his photos including those of his new found love.

Also, the singer has stopped sharing his lovey dovey photos on his social media pages like before; leaving many wondering whether there is trouble in paradise.

We can however not confirm whether the relationship is over or not by judging Otile’s latest move; this is because most celebrities always pull down most of their photos on social media just to create controversy.

Mtaachana tu!

Anyway the Ethiopian lady was however Otile Brown’s second legit girlfriend who he paraded on Instagram shortly after breaking up with Vera Sidika.

Fans also seemed not to get enough of the young lady who turned heads thanks to her fine looks and figure.

Others went on to laugh off saying they wouldn’t last long since Vera Sidika already confirmed that Otile Brown’s game in bed was still lacking.

Kenyan musicians have done so many collabos this year and we’re really impressed

Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t but Kenyan musicians have dropped so many collabos since the year began. If you are a huge fan of local music, like yours truly, I’m you are also impressed.

For the first time in a long while, there’s something good to say about the local entertainment industry. We’re barely five months into the year and we’ve seen the most unexpected collabos. It’s such an exciting time to be alive.

Artist have not only realized the importance of doing collabos, they have also decided to step out of the comfort zones. On a light note, I’m pretty sure Kenyan musicians agreed that 2019 is the year of working together.

What I love most about this is that our artists are not only working with their fellow Kenyan musicians, they are also crossing borders and working with acts from Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana and Jamaica.

The likes of rapper Khaligraph Jones have featured on four great collabos since we crossed over into 2019. The songs are; Japo Kidogo, Kiboko (Remix), Megarider (Remix), and Chukua Selfie which was a campaign but still counts.

Papa Jones aslo featured Nigerian rapper Ycee on Gwala which was released in January this year.

If you’ve noticed, Naiboi is also doing a lot of collabos this year. He has two songs with Kristoff, a song with Brown Mauzo. He was featured on Chukua Selfie. His new song with Vivian and Savara dubbed came out a few hours ago.

Arrow Bwoy has also been breaking his back when it comes to music collabos. He has a song with Demarco, another one with Cecile. He has also worked with Gabu and Jovial

Other artists who’ve dropped good collabos this year are; Willy Paul, Timmy Tdat, Nyashinki, Jua Cali, Avril, King Kaka, Mr Seed, The Kansoul, Rankaddah, Rankaddah, Mayonde, Ochunglo Family, just to name a few.

To say the least, I am impressed. I can’t help but imagine how many more great collabos we’ll see before the year ends. I hope this also serves as a wake up call to artists who have been shying away from collabos.

What are some of your favourite local collabos this year? Leave a comment below.

This has been his signature stunt since time immemorial with Socialite, Vera Sidika.

However, since then, our screens have not seen much of the two, but we do hope all is well.

Additionally, fact that he is set to release a new jam might be the reason for his solo trips all around, though no room for speculations!

Kenyans who felt compelled to get back to the Ethiopian beauty literally swore their loyalty to Bad Man Shivo in his absence, even begging the two to stick as one:

Otile Brown is an artist to watch in Kenyan music industry

Jacob Obunga, known with his stage name as Otile Brown, is an urban contemporary musician, Song Writer, Guitarist, and an Actor. He was born and raised in the coastal city of Mombasa. He is the last born in a family of Five, born in 1980. According to Information Cradle, Otile discovered his talent at the age of 12 and started writing and singing at the age of 13. The coastal upbringing confirms his expertise in the Swahili dialect. Otile Brown has been on the limelight when it comes to Kenyan music.

Otile is a true confirmation that Kenyan music can be trusted and it is also entertaining. His previous works have been doing so well in East Africa and internationally. The artist is currently on his Baby Love Europe tour 2019 and it is really doing him.

Obunga has been at one time being on the limelight over relationship issues with a Kenyan socialite Veronica Mung’asia AKA Vera Sidika. A scandal that didn’t go well and it exposed their sexual life. Although being a celebrity one is entitled to fame, Otile does not know how to manage this. He has given out so much to the public which ends up tainting his picture. He needs to learn on how to keep his love life private. This will help him gain that positive energy to do music and not the negative energy from social media.

As we go into his musical journey, Otile Brown is doing well. He has had several collaboration which are doing so well in the industry. He is mostly known to do love songs. His taste of music is great.

On Otile’s social life, I would say it does not suit his personality. He appears to be a very calm and when he goes to an extent of having online war with a lady that showed some sense of immaturity. I feel like sometimes silence is a good thing. Currently he has a new love who they are seen touring the world with as he seeks to promote his music.

Otile has received a positive reception from his fans.  His first hit song is titled alivyonipenda where he featured King Kaka in 2016. The song has 2.2 million views on youtube.

Below is a link to the song.

In 2016 he also featured Sanaipei Tande in the song Chagua la Moyo. This was a love song and he has continued on with the love message up to date.

Recently he has released a new single Nitulie. Click on the link below to listen to it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWm6WYUrUjc

He is an artist to watch. Looking at his previous work and his current, he has retained his way of doing music. His voice is never disappointing. He seems to have a good producer and this for sure has worked for him. I feel like he is consistent on his music journey, he always quick to sort his fans.

Otile Brown is back with a new single Nitulie

Otile Brown is back with a new single Nitulie,  just a few weeks after the release of Japo Kidogo featuring Khaligraph Jones. The audio which hit the airwaves two days ago before his Europe tour. Otile is known for his good work. Nitulie is a great jam and it is something that one would want to listen to. Nitulie is a swahili word which in this song means that he has found someone who he is going to settle with.

The song is so cultivating and it talks more on love. Otile’s production never fails. Looking at the production of this audio am satisfied that this guy is good at what he does. The words are so clear and the beats brings out the intended message of love. I would listen to this voice over and over again.

Also, there are verses in the song that will capture your attention. In this case the bridge; “Acha nitulie nitulie Oooh nitulie  We ndo kiboko yangu mimi Acha nitulie nitulie  Eeh, unanielewa sana mimi”.  It simply means that the lady understands him and so he just needs to be contended and settle. This is a good message to the young generation out there. This bridge has also brought out the title of the song Nitulie so well because of the repetitive style used.

“Nimeona cha mtima, cha mtima Cha mtima cha moyo Kwako nazama mazima  Mazima, wala si kidogo” This verse is so entertaining, I just like the creativity here. He says that his heart is sinking into her. Just asking, could Otile be talking of his new found love? And if so then he got the right words for her. “Na pendo langu  Kwako wewe Halina kipimo Na si lazima nikwambie Macho yangu ni shahidi(haya) Nitazame  Utaelewa ninavyohisi(hayaa)  Noo noo”  I just can’t have enough of his words. He says that his love to the girl is not measurebale , the eyes are the witness. I just wish that reality could be brought out in words.

Otile has done the song so well and the swahili is well done. I give the song a rating of 9/10. This is some good kind of art. I can’t wait to see the video.

Khaligraph should quit rap and become a singer

If I was Khaligraph Jones, I would be toying with the idea of ditching rap for singing, even if it’s just for a few years. Because, why not?

If you talk about Kenyan rappers, he is definitely one of the people who come to anyone’s mind. Well, this is simply because he one of the finest, if not the finest, rappers in East Africa.

After dominating the local rap scene for the last decade or so, I feel that it’s time for him to take up another challenge and that is venturing into singing on a full time basis. I’ll explain why.

Khaligraph showed us his mellow side in his last two collabos with Masauti and Otile Brown, especially the latter. The songs were different but in a good way. We loved them, at least most of us did. He proved to local music fans that he is much more than a rapper by singing in the two songs.

Both Kiboko (Remix) and Japo Kidogo have been getting good reviews so much so that Khaligraph joked that he had given other rappers Octopizzo time to shine as he does love songs and I feel that he should take up the challenge and do more of such songs for some time, say the rest of the year.

Otile Brown with Khaligraph Jones

You see, we’ve gotten used his abrasive style of music. After all, isn’t he the OG? However, I feel that this should not necessarily be the case. Think of great artists like Donald Glover. He is one of the biggest names in America today because of his sheer versatility.

Khaligraph should follow in Donald’s footsteps or any other versatile artist that he admires. One thing is for sure, if he ventures into singing, his fan base would really grow since ‘soft’ songs have a wider appeal than rap. This is one of the reasons why Nigerian and Tanzanian music is big in Kenya.

Otile Brown can´t seem to stop showering new bae with endless love posts

Otile Brown´s and ex, Vera Sidika´s love game did not last as long as many might have expected, let alone end gloriously.

Singer, Otile Brown and ex, Vera Sidika

The perennial slamming of words is not news in the celebrity circles.

What was most embarrassing was after ex, Vera Sidika spilled the beans on Otile´s consistent borrowing of funds.

However, Otile came public to address the claims and deny allegations even after outright evidence of their chats.

Otile´s love hurdle

The two have since then moved on with their separate lives, with Otile flaunting his new Ethiopian girlfriend, from time to time.

In his recent post, he categorically states that:

We would only be so kind as to wish the duo nothing but a fascinating ride down the love lane.

Otile, Khaligraph Jones finally explain why their new song was deleted on YouTube

Both Khaligraph Jones and singer Otile Brown have released statements regarding their new song “Japo Kidogo” which has been removed from YouTube.

Jones on social media posted that he has no clue why the video was deleted and asked fans to question Otile brown if they needed answers.

“This video Has been pulled down from YouTube and I don’t know why, only @otilebrown has the answers, just when I had successfully launched my Singing career, Itabidi sasa SUPERMAN imekuja.. #respecttheogs #mrinternational,” wrote Papa Jones.

Answers

On social media, Otile Brown explained that the video has been pulled down because of management issues but avoided giving clear reasons why.

“To my loyal fans who have always supported me, I know there’s a lot of speculation going on as to why my newly released project titled “Japo Kidogo” featuring Khaligraph Jones was pulled down from Youtube. The video was pulled down from youtube just 2 days after it’s release due to management issues that am not in Liberty to discuss unfortunately, even if I wanted to. This is what I would like to say though, there’s a lot of hard work, a lot of resources/money and a lot of time that goes into such a project thus my management and I would not just pull down a video just like that. We respect artistry and the craft but at the end of the day it’s still business and we have to respect that. All I promise is we are still going to give you our fans what you deserve which is good music. #BadMan . #WegotnothingbutLove! bless y’all” explained Otile Brown.

Khaligraph’s collabo with Otile Brown dubbed ‘Japo Kidogo’ has been deleted from YouTube

Japo Kidogo, a song that was released by Otile Brown and Khaligraph Jones roughly three days ago is no longer on YouTube. It seems to have been deleted.

Also read: Khaligraph’s much-awaited collabo with Otile Brown titled ‘Japo Kidogo’ is finally out (Video)

We noticed that it was not available on the video sharing platform yesterday evening. Maybe it was brought down much earlier.

A screengrab of the search results

Anyway, I would not sweat it, this seems to be an orchestrated move since Otile Brown brown and Khaligraph have also unfollowed each other on social media.

The video had been uploaded on Otile Brown’s page on March 25 around 5pm. The last time I checked, it was almost clocking 300,000 views and was trending at number one. Simply put, the song was doing well by Kenyan standards.

Khaligraph Jones and Otile Brown

Maybe they expected it have more numbers in the first few days, when it didn’t, they decided to make it private (hide) it on YouTube so that when the song is back it’s even bigger. King Kaka pulled a similar stunt with Dundaing a few days after he released it.

When it comes to poorly executed or stunts, Otile Brown leads the pack right next to Bahati. It’s not the first time that his music video has mysteriously disappeared from YouTube.

This is actually the third time this is happening. His songs dubbed Mungu Wetu Sote and Chaguo La Moyo, in which he featured Sanaipei Tande, disappeared from YouTube only to resurface a few days later.

5 impossible music collabos we’d love to see before 2019 ends

A few days ago, Octopizzo revealed that he was willing to work with nemesis Khaligraph Jones if the song would line his pockets. Although the chances of this happening are close to zero, it got me thinking about other impossible collabos that we’d love to see.

You see, the essence of doing in a collabo is to grow an artist’s fanbase. For instance, Khaligraph’s fans would get to know about Octopizzo or appreciate his music and vice versa if the two artists ever do a collabo.

There’s also the obvious fact that two or more music greats are bound to create something magical if they ever work on a song together.

That being said, here’s our wish list of collabos:

1. Nyashinki and Otile Brown – After listening to Nyashinki and Juma Jux on Incase You Don’t Know, I couldn’t help but imagine what a Nyashinki and Otile Brown collabo would sound like. We are really looking forward to the day when they’ll give us a treat.

Nyashinki and Otile Brown

2. Arrow Bwoy and Vivian – This collabo should have happened a long time ago. I mean why not? Vivian’s smooth vocals would really blend well with Arrow Bwoy’s seductive dancehall sound. Get into studio guys!

3. Sauti Sol and King Kaka – They may not see eye to eye but I’m sure you also get the feeling that a song by these great musicians would be nothing but pure bliss. You remember Sauti Sol’s collabo with Khaligraph dubbed Rewind? Think along those lines and then add King Kaka’s storytelling skills.

4. Nadia Mukami and Naiboi – I live for the day these two musicians will release a song together. Thinking about it just gives me goosebumps. If a collabo between Naiboi and Nadia comes to pass, it will be the biggest song in 2019. You want to bet?

5. Masauti and Steph Kapela – Nothing beats a bongo-infused rap song. Absolutely nothing. It’s for this reason that I feel Masauti should do his next collabo with one of Kenya’s best emcees – Steph Kapela. What I love about Steph Kapela is that he is versatile, he could end up singing if they ever do a collabo.

Khaligraph’s much-awaited collabo with Otile Brown dubbed ‘Japo Kidogo’ is finally out (Video)

Papa Jones and Otile Brown have finally dropped their long overdue collaboration and it’s much better than what I had imagined when I heard that they were working on another song together.

If you didn’t know, Khaligraph and Otile have worked together before. They have two songs dubbed Imaginary Love and Nataka.

If you are a fan of these two musicians, just as yours truly, then I know you’ve waited for ages to see them on another track, especially now that both of them are blowing up. Well, that day is finally here!

The song dubbed Japo Kidogo was released a few hours ago. A quick peek at the comments section on YouTube confirms that many people can not get enough of it.

Maybe, just maybe this will be the biggest club banger this year. But then again, it’s so hard to tell seeing as we have 9 months before the year ends.

Vicky Pon Dis really did justice to the beats of Japo Kidogo. This song will put you in a good mood from the moment you hit the play button. You won’t resist the urge to dance along to it.

Japo Kidogo is a Swahili word that loosely translates to ‘just a little bit’. Did I get that right? Anyway, the song’s chorus is a no brainer and easy to remember, it goes like, “Oh japo kidogo, japo kidogo oh mama break it down. Oh japo kidogo, japo kidogo.”

In this song, Khaligraph shows us for the umpteenth time that he’s not only a good rapper but also a great singer. He’s by far the most versatile artist out there. If you are here for Papa Jones then skip to 1:36. You’re welcome!

The video was shot at K1 Klub House by the one and only Enos Olik. You know what to expect when you hear that name. Nothing but class.

Before I forget, the choreography in the video was also on point!

Watch Japo Kidogo below. If I were you, I’d get some good earphones for this moment.

It’s a good time to be alive. It really is.

Are Otile Brown and Joey Muthengi getting cosy together?

Controversial artist, Otile Brown has been fanning relationship rumors since his breakup with socialite, Vera Sidika.

The Bongo artist was spotted getting too cosy with former Citizen TV show host, Joey Muthengi.

In an Instagram video, Otile is seen holding the caramel skinned beauty tightly right next to his chest as the two savored the moment.

The pair looked pretty comfortable and smitten and a jovial Joey could not help it but smile.

She delicately rubbed the artist´s fingers all night as the two were engrossed in their conversation.

Ever since partying ways with Vera, Otile´s fans have wished him nothing but to see him happy and get a deserving lady.

Oh well, keep fingers crossed and hope the 10 over 10 show host gets to be Otile´s lost rib.

The model has hardly been open about her private life and tends to keep fine details about men she is dating, concealed.

One mistake made for Otile and Vera´s relationship, was unwrapping the couple´s dating life publicly, one that after the breakup ended up quite messy.

The pair exchanged bitter sentiments online , competing on exposing nitty-gritties of their relationship.

Money hungry gold digger was Vera´s opinion about the Bongo artist saying he was ever asking for handouts time and again.

An attention seeking psycho who was obsessed with sex was Otile´s part of the argument concerning Vera, claiming she brought in the idea of rushing into family life.

Insults were exchanged, screenshots shared, on and on until the couple could take it no more, calling it quits.

Otile Brown’s journey from laptop thief to continental star

There’s no doubt that Jacob Otieno Obunga, alias Otile Brown, is among the the most sought after artists not only in Kenya but the East African region as well.

In no time, the Alivyonipenda hitmaker will be giving Wafasi artists a run for their money. Maybe he won’t but what I’m sure of is that he is a force to reckon with.

But he didn’t start from the top. Before he became a household name, Otile Brown was just a kawaida artist who would visit radio stations with his songs on a compact disk and beg for airplay.

Of course, just like most upcoming artists he would be told to drop the cd in some box at the reception (most media houses have them) and that would be the end of that story. Zero airplay.

That was long before he met and Vera Sirika – a relationship that would propel his music career to greater heights.

There’s no denying the fact that he is a talented singer. However, Otile needed people to notice him and he knew to well that dating a controversial socialite would get him there so he did the needful.

I met Otile Brown when he was still signed under Dreamland Music. At the time, he had just released a collabo with King Kaka. I introduced myself as a journalist from this big media house and we ended up exchanging contacts since I had asked if I could interview him someday.

He came to our offices almost three weeks later and we did the interview. Truth is, it was not that interesting so it did not get much traction. People love controversy and that interview was anything but that. It was on the borderline of boring.

After sometime, I’m not sure how long it was, I heard that he had left his stable after falling out with Dr Eddie so I reached out to him to get his side of the story but he didn’t want to talk about it so I let him be.

Some months down the line, someone alleged that he had stolen a laptop. So, I called him to shed light on the matter but instead he bashed me for only seeking when there’s a bad story about him. He also accused me of not picking his calls and a bunch of other things.

Listen to the audio below.

In March 2018, reports emerged that Otile was dating Vera Sirika and I thought to myself, “this man has finally figured it out.” I tried calling him around November after he had ended things with the socialite and his manager Noriega informed me that Otile was no longer doing interviews. I don’t think he has done any in the last two years.

His relationship with the curvy socialite ensured he would be on people’s minds for a long time to come and that’s what I call a win. These days, when Otile releases a song it will definitely go viral however good or bad it is.

“I need a real woman in my life!” Otile Brown talks about his lonely love life

One would think that Otile Brown is either dating on the low or just has someone on the side; but turns out that his love life is actually inactive.

He revealed this through his Instagram page where he shared a post claiming he needs a real woman in his life. The singer went on to claim that he is fed up with ladies looking for fame and attention.

Otile Brown and Vera Sidika

Just a few months ago Otile Brown broke up with Vera Sidika who embarrassed him on social media.

According to Vera Sidika the young singer was not satisfying her in bed and for this reason she had to look elsewhere.

Apart from the bedroom issues, there were also stories about the singer using Vera for her money; however as for now seems that Otile Brown is looking for something serious this time around.

Is Vera Sidika finally pregnant?

Kenyans for a long time have waited for that day when socialite Huddah Monroe or Vera Sidika will finally announce that they are carrying a baby.

Several socialites, including Risper Faith and Bridget Achieng have already been through this phase and now eyes are back to Vera and Huddah.

Well, it seem that day has finally come, going by a recent status update from Vera that is.

The socialite, who is currently in the US enjoying life, hinted on Instagram that she might be expecting a baby soon but didn’t share any more details about the pregnancy.

Journey

“All my girls with kids tell me this every day. pregnancy is a special sacred and pure bliss. a beautiful journey I would be so excited to experience,” she posted.

“Counting months,” she added.

She has been avoiding photos, just like the last time she was in the US when fans started speculating she’s PGed. This time, however, Vera might be pregnant for real.

Surprisingly, Otile Brown has also been throwing hints that he wants a baby this year. The two last year exposed their ugly secrets after Otile came out to share that Vera aborted his baby.

“I need a child this year” Otile Brown now willing to impregnate any woman after Vera Sidika denied him a chance to be a father

Otile Brown was hellbent on impregnating Vera Sidika but what he didn’t know is that the bootyful socialite got a birth control implant in May 2018, just one month after she started dating him.

After their breakup, Vera revealed that she secretly got the birth control implant without telling Otile because she didn’t want to get pregnant for him just yet.

“I did it in May this year. And this happened a month after I was in a relationship and was because I wasn’t ready to have a baby with the person that I was dating because I was still trying to get to know them and learn the character very well,” said Vera on her Vlog.

The socialite further revealed that Otile was hellbent on knocking her up, she said that the singer would stay ‘in’ longer after spilling his seeds in her just to make sure that every drop counted.

“We used to have sex and after he finished, he would keep his member inside me to make sure that every drop counted in his attempt to make me pregnant.”

Yearning to be a father

Otile is now ready to knock up any ‘worthy’ woman after Vera denied him a chance to be a father. The ‘Kenyan Girl’ hit maker is took to social media to announce that he was desperately yearning to plant his seed in a woman.

Avril explains why she refused to appear in Naiboi’s video whereas she agreed to appear in Otile Brown’s new video

Rapper Naiboi was sad and depressed when fellow artistes Avril, Sanaipei Tande and Victoria Kimani refused to feature in his music video ‘2 in 1’.

The irony is that ‘2 in 1’ went on to become such a big hit after the ladies turned him down. The rapper said Avril and Sanaipei Tande politely declined his request to appear in his music video whereas Victoria Kimani simply ignored his request.

“Avril told me she was going to send, but I tried calling and my calls went unanswered. For her, I believe she might have not understood the idea, but at least she told me she was going to send, which she didn’t. It was a different case with Victoria. I called Sanaipei and she told me at the moment she can’t be in such a project, unless we have a project together. That makes sense to me, than someone blue-ticking me,” said Naiboi in a past interview.

Excuse or genuine reason?

Avril has appeared on Otile Brown’s new music video ‘Kenyan Girl’. The singer was among several other celebs who were featured in the video.

A curious fan confronted Avril on YouTube comment section about failing to appear in Naiboi’s video whereas she was featured in Otile Brown’s video.

“You refused to do 2 in 1 challenge yet Naiboi requested you to..” Josephin Elenah asked Avril.

To which Avril replied:

“yer I couldn’t was unfortunately in hospital…didn’t feel like getting into it with him .. let people do what they gotta do
