Shakib reflects on fighting for Zari when he first married her

In a recent interview, Shakib Cham opened up about some of the challenges he and his wife, Zari Hassan, have faced since tying the knot in October 2023.

While their marriage has largely remained strong, Shakib revealed that they have had to deal with negativity from certain individuals within Zari’s social circle.

Despite the public perception of a stable relationship, he admitted that criticism from some of her close friends has at times created pressure. According to him, a few of them have openly expressed doubts about their union, with some appearing to anticipate its failure.

Even so, Shakib maintained that he is committed to his marriage, emphasising that his bond with Zari remains firm and grounded.

He called on critics to stop interfering in their relationship, stating that their marriage will endure for as long as it is meant to. For now, the couple remains focused on building their life together, choosing to rise above external opinions.

Zari amemwacha? Shakib Lutaaya reveals everything

Shakib Lutaaya has dismissed ongoing speculation about a split between him and socialite Zari Hassan, maintaining that their marriage remains intact.

In an interview with Sanyuka TV, Shakib denied claims that tensions involving fellow socialite Boss Mutoto in December had strained their relationship.

The controversy stemmed from an alleged robbery at Mutoto’s bar in Munyonyo and Shakib’s subsequent summons by police, sparking online rumours that Zari’s friendship with Mutoto had triggered a fallout between the couple.

“My wife and I have not separated. The rumors are false. Just as we never held an interview to announce we were dating, we won’t publicly declare a breakup. Let people think what they want. Ugandans should stop believing everything they see on social media,” Shakib said.

He also urged journalists to verify information before publishing personal stories, emphasising the need for evidence.

Responding to allegations that he depends on women financially, Shakib insisted he is self-sufficient.

“I’m a hustler and I work for myself. I have several businesses that generate my income. I don’t ask anyone for money,” he stated.

On claims of infidelity, he was equally firm, saying he remains loyal in committed relationships and challenging anyone making contrary allegations to provide proof.

Shakib concluded by reaffirming his commitment to Zari, stating that they are “very much in love” and remain devoted to each other.

Relationship Timeline

Zari Hassan and Shakib Lutaaya formalised their relationship in 2023 after dating for over a year.

The couple first wed in a private Islamic Nikah ceremony held on April 16, 2023, in Pretoria, South Africa, attended by close family and friends. Later, on October 3, 2023, they hosted a larger, all-white wedding celebration in Pretoria. The lavish ceremony drew friends, relatives and several African celebrities, with Zari’s five children participating in the event.

Their relationship became public in early 2022 following Zari’s previous breakup. Over time, they were frequently seen travelling together and sharing affectionate moments publicly before officially tying the knot.

For Zari, the union marked her first formal marriage, making it a notable personal and public milestone.

Shakib Explains Why He Doesn’t Follow His Wife Zari On Instagram

Shakib Cham Lutaaya, husband to renowned socialite Zari Hassan, has addressed a long-running question from fans by finally explaining why he does not follow his wife on Instagram. His candid reason, which he says is aimed at protecting their relationship, has sparked a new wave of conversation online.

The relationship between Shakib and Zari has been a subject of intense public scrutiny, largely due to their age difference and their high-profile status. For months, followers have observed that despite being married, Shakib did not follow Zari on her official Instagram account, a detail that fueled widespread speculation and gossip about the state of their union.

In a recent Q&A session on his social media, a curious fan asked him directly why he was not following his wife. Shakib responded with a calm and mature explanation, stating that the decision was a deliberate one aimed at preserving his peace of mind. He explained that by not following her page, he is able to avoid the constant flow of negative comments, criticism, and public drama that often accompanies Zari’s very popular posts.

Shakib maintained that the action has nothing to do with a lack of affection for his wife. He stressed that by keeping a certain distance from the public frenzy, he is able to focus on the private, healthy aspects of their relationship.

The explanation has been met with a divided reaction from the public. While many have applauded his move as a wise and necessary step to protect their bond from external pressures, others remain skeptical, finding it unusual for a married couple, especially one in the public eye, to take such a measure.

Zari Reveals Why She Favors Zuchu and Vera Over Tanasha for Young, Famous &African

Ugandan socialite, entrepreneur, and reality TV star Zarinah Hassan, popularly known as Zari the Boss Lady, has shared her thoughts on the ideal Kenyan influencer to join Netflix’s hit reality series, Young, Famous & African.

During an interview with entertainment presenter Silva Kido while in Kenya for an influencer gig, Zari highlighted her top picks for potential cast members from Kenya and Tanzania.

Zari expressed her preference for Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika, citing her beauty, curvy physique, and vibrant personality, which she believes aligns with the show’s existing cast. She added that Vera’s dynamic vibe would fit seamlessly into the group.

From Tanzania, Zari suggested bongo star Zuchu as a suitable addition. She noted that Zuchu’s rumored relationship with Diamond Platnumz, who is already a cast member, could bring an exciting dynamic to the show.

However, Zari was hesitant about recommending singer Tanasha Donna, despite their friendship. She explained that Tanasha’s reserved and quiet demeanor might not suit the drama-driven nature of the show.

“Vera would look good on the show. She’s beautiful, brings the ‘nyash,’ and looks like she can throw some jabs—she’s just like us,” Zari said. “As for Zuchu, I’d love to see her on the show, sitting there and saying, ‘What do you have to say, Diamond? Am I not your artiste?’ That would stir things up.”

On the other hand, Zari remarked, “Tanasha is very pretty, and I talk to her often, but she’s very reserved. The show needs someone who can bring the energy and drama, and she’s more laid-back.”

Zari further explained that Young, Famous & African is not scripted, and the series often reveals the true personalities of its cast members, not just the personas they present on social media.

“Reality TV isn’t just about social media. Once the cameras start rolling, it’s about who you truly are, and I’ve seen people change completely when the reality sets in,” she added.

First aired on March 18, 2022, Young, Famous & African showcases the lives of Africa’s elite celebrities known for their wealth and influence. Zari, a standout cast member, emphasized that Netflix decides who joins the show, and the current cast has no input in casting decisions.

The show’s third season features Zari Hassan, Shakib Cham, Diamond Platnumz, Fantana, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Swanky Jerry, Nadia Nakai, Quinton Masina, Kayleigh Schwark, Luis Munana, Khanyi Mbau, and Ini Edo.

Shakib Addresses Allegations of Cheating on Zari

Shakib has dismissed rumors of infidelity, clarifying that the women in question are merely clients.

“Dear social media fans, I want to address recent tabloid claims about alleged affairs outside my marriage. Fake stories have been circulating, suggesting I am cheating on my wife. Let me be clear—these women are valued clients and supporters of the King Cham collection. They are not romantically involved with me, nor do I have any intention of pursuing private relationships with them or anyone else,” Shakib stated.

He further urged fans to stop spreading baseless rumors.

“I kindly request everyone to refrain from sharing falsehoods and propaganda. These rumors are untrue and harmful to my marriage, personal life, and professional reputation. Let’s practice understanding and mutual respect. Thank you for your continued support.”

In April 2024, Zari shared a heartfelt video of her praying for various blessings, including her husband’s faithfulness.

Draped in a golden hijab, Zari sat beside Shakib, who wore a black kanzu and a white head covering, as they prayed together. Shakib actively participated, responding “Amin” to her prayers.

Zari expressed her hopes for their union, asking for loyalty, prosperity, and two daughters.

“Big mansion for my husband. Trips, trips, trips—vacations in Dubai, shopping sprees in Dubai. Traveling in private jets, long life, Allahuma health, my peace, and everlasting love. No cheating, no gallivanting, no jollying,” she prayed.

Zari’s Eldest Son Undergoes Baptism Ceremony

Zari Hassan’s eldest son, Pinto Tlale, recently underwent baptism, sparking curiosity among many since his mother is a well-known practicing Muslim.

Pinto posted a video of his baptism on Instagram, set to Naomi Reine’s song “The Story I’ll Tell,” accompanied by praying hands and a cross emoji. In the clip, the 21-year-old, dressed in a white T-shirt and black shorts, is seen standing in a portable pool, flanked by two pastors who assist in his immersion during the baptism. Zari Hassan recently opened up about her experiences with love and relationships in a candid interview with her second-born son, Raphael Tlale, on his YouTube channel, where she appeared as his first guest.

When Raphael asked her about the most romantic gesture she had ever received, Zari admitted that his father, Ivan Semwanga, wasn’t a romantic man. “Your father wasn’t romantic,” she said. “He just spent money on me. If I wanted a new car, he’d trade in the one I had and buy a new one. I’m not sure if that’s romance or just because he could afford it.”

Shakib clarified that these comments did not reflect his true feelings and were made in a moment of anger after seeing Zari enjoying herself with her ex, Diamond Platnumz.

Lutaya revealed that a private conversation in which he vented about Zari was secretly recorded and leaked by a close friend. Zari and Shakib Enjoy a Night of Dancing After Online Dispute

Zari Hassan arrived in Uganda this past weekend to attend the Legend in Gold concert celebrating Jose Chameleone’s 25-year music career.

At the concert, Chameleone performed his greatest hits, including classics like “Bageya,” “Jamila,” “Mama Rhoda,” and “Wale Wale,” along with more recent hits such as “Kigwa Lero” and “Forever.”

Born on April 30, 1979, Jose Chameleone is a renowned AfroBeat artist who sings in Luganda, English, and Swahili. He began his music career in 1998 with the Kenyan label Ogopa Deejays, releasing his debut single, “Bageya,” featuring Redsan.

Zari attended the concert with her famous friends, enjoying Chameleone’s electrifying performance on August 31st.

Later, a video surfaced showing Zari and Shakib Cham dancing together, holding hands across a table. The couple swayed, whispered, and laughed as cameras captured their every move. Zari was dressed in white, while Shakib wore a black shirt and blue jeans. It seemed like an after-party setting, with bottles of champagne on the table as their friends cheered them on.

The two looked more in love than ever, despite weeks of an online feud about their marriage.

Their disagreement began in early August when Shakib expressed his displeasure that Zari hadn’t informed him about Diamond Platnumz’s visit to her house. Feeling disrespected, Shakib confronted Zari, who then responded angrily in a video.

This led to further personal issues between them being aired publicly. Currently, Zari and Shakib live separately, with Zari residing in South Africa while Shakib is based in Uganda.

Zari’s Social Media Post About Men Starting Secret Families Creates Buzz Following Dispute with Shakib

South African-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has stirred up social media with a cryptic post about men secretly starting families, just days after a public fallout with her husband, Shakib Cham Lutaaya.

On Instagram, Zari wrote that while men secretly establish new families without their partners knowing, women quietly make investments.

“Women are secretly investing while men are secretly building families,” she stated.

She also suggested that this discrepancy leaves men and women on different levels in relationships.

“Take a seat, we are not on the same level,” she added, without further elaboration.

This post followed a public disagreement between Zari and Shakib, which erupted into the public eye. Reactions have been mixed, with some speculating that her comments reflect community observations, while others believe they stem from personal experience.

Recently, Zari criticized Shakib’s insecurities after a dispute involving the presence of her ex-partner, Diamond, at their daughter Tiffah’s birthday in Pretoria. Zari expressed frustration over Shakib’s feelings of competition with Diamond and questioned what he contributes to their relationship.

Diamond Platnumz is clearly not allowing his ex-girlfriend’s personal life to interfere with his relationship with their children. The Bongo star recently visited Zari Hassan’s home to celebrate their daughter Tiffah’s birthday, despite the potential tension it could create.

This visit comes just a week after his previous one, which reportedly caused friction between Zari and her husband, Shakib. In a detailed video, Zari shared that Shakib has been accusing her of entertaining her ex, forgetting that co-parenting requires some level of interaction.

Despite being aware of Shakib’s insecurities, Diamond still attended his daughter’s birthday, which sparked online chatter about his indifference to the situation. He even posted photos and videos from the party, asserting his role in his children’s lives.

Shakib, on the other hand, has remained silent about Diamond’s latest visit, likely to avoid further drama. However, given his reputation as an insecure partner, it’s fair to assume that the visit didn’t sit well with him. But then again, he knew what he was getting into when he married Zari.

Netizens, however, seem to sympathize with Shakib, considering his relatively young age and limited relationship experience compared to Zari.

Zari Admits Her Relationship With Shakib Hasn’t Been Good Since November Last Year

Zari Hassan has responded to speculation surrounding a recent video showing her holding hands with her ex-partner, Diamond Platnumz.

Clarification on Video’s Purpose

In a phone interview with Millard Ayo TV, Zari refuted claims that the video caused problems in her marriage to Shakib Cham Lutaaya. She clarified that the video was solely intended to promote Diamond’s new song “Mapozi.”

Zari stated that Shakib lost his cool on seeing the video of her and Diamond trending on social media.

“Hio ilikua Sunday last week. Thursday Baba T akapost hio video. Video imetoka naona mambo yameanza. Shakib was at home na siku hio because we had finished shooting alikua anarudi Uganda. The video captured Diamond and Zari holding hands and smiling, raising eyebrows amongst fans and sparking speculation about their relationship status.

Zari Clarifies

Following speculation about potential conflict within her relationship with her husband Shakib due to the video, Zari sought to clarify the situation.

Zari explained that Diamond requested her help promoting his song “Mapozi” as it wasn’t receiving the desired attention. She emphasized being present with her family, including Zuchu, during the video shoot.

“Tulikuwa tunashoot Young Fanous and African Diamond askasema nisaidie tufanye promo ya wimbo sababu naona haitembei vizuri. The whole family was there, tena Zuchu kbisa was there alikuwa amesimama na watoto. Ilikuwa hivo tu. Akaondoka na mi nikaenda zangu…

Current Relationship Status

Regarding her current status with Shakib, Zari stated that although the video with Shakib’s ex was old, it prompted them to take some space to address existing issues

Shakib Gives Unexpected Reaction To Diamond Expressing His Love For Zari

Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz sent ripples through social media with a recent video of his ex-girlfriend Zari Hassan. The mother of two of his children, now married to Ugandan businessman Shakib Lutaaya, was captured enjoying Diamond’s new song “Mapozi.”

But it wasn’t just the music that sparked discussion. Diamond’s commentary added a layer of intrigue. Referencing Zari as “Mama Tee,” he emphasized her apparent happiness in her current relationship, claiming she receives “150 kilograms” of love from Shakib, “no matter what.” He playfully captioned her as “the boss lady, a white man at heart,” adding another twist to the already complex dynamic.

The post ignited a firestorm of reactions. Some saw it as harmless fun, others as a subtle dig at his former partner. Discussions swirled around their past relationship, Zari’s present contentment, and the unusual public acknowledgment of her personal life.

One unexpected turn came from Shakib himself. Instead of taking umbrage, he responded with surprising positivity. Thanking Diamond for acknowledging his love for Zari, he even addressed him as “Powa Shemej,” a term of respect in Swahili. This show of maturity and open communication between both men caught many off guard.

The entire situation unfolds like a scene from a reality TV show, fueled by fame, past entanglements, and surprising twists. However, amidst the speculation and gossip, one thing shines through: a level of respect and acceptance between Zari, Diamond, and Shakib that seems to prioritize her happiness and well-being.

Whether this is a genuine step towards amicable co-existence or a carefully curated public image remains to be seen. But in a world obsessed with celebrity drama, this unexpected display of civility offers a refreshingly mature perspective on navigating past relationships and building new ones.

Zari Hassan Narrates Growing Up With Expectation Of Getting Married To A Wealthy Man

Speaking to BBC Swahili, Zari candidly admits her youthful vision of marrying into wealth. But as she matured, the reality of achieving such a lifestyle set in. Undeterred, Zari embraced a different path, one fueled by her own determination and hard work.

“I said it is not easy,” she declares. “When I realized I wanted a good life, I got the motivation to say I don’t come from a rich family, but it was my responsibility.” This became her driving force, transforming the childhood dream of “wearing gold” into a passion for building her own empire.

And build she did. Today, Zari stands as a successful businesswoman and media personality, married to Shakib Cham, a union celebrated with both intimate Muslim and lavish white wedding ceremonies. The latter saw Ghanaian musician Fantana, once linked to Zari’s former partner, in attendance, a testament to her resilience and ability to move beyond past chapters.

Zari’s story is a powerful reminder that achieving a good life isn’t always about who you marry or the gold you wear. It’s about chasing your own definition of success, fueled by hard work and unwavering determination. In this way, Zari has turned her childhood dream into a reality, not of gilded cages, but of self-made empowerment and a life truly “larger than life.”

I thought I’d get married to a rich man – Zari

Zari Hassan has expressed that as a child, she envisioned herself walking down the aisle with a wealthy man, dressed in Satin gold, and living a luxurious life. In an interview with BBC Swahili, Zari revealed that as she grew older, she recognized the life she truly desired and understood that she had to work for it personally.

When asked if she ever dreamt of having such a life, Zari responded:

“I used to think I will get married to a rich man, wear gold, but I said it is not easy. When I realized I wanted a good life, I got the motivation to say I don’t really come from a rich family, but it was my responsibility.”

She added:

“I said I wanted a good life, and that has been my motivation in life to say I want a good life.”

Zari is currently married to Ugandan man Shakib Cham. In June, she addressed trolls commenting on the age difference between her and her husband, stating that he is a fully grown man, not a child. She confirmed her birth date as “23rd September 1980” and emphasized that her man is “30 plus.” Zari clarified that her boyfriend, despite looking young, is not young, and she is turning 42 this year. She highlighted the misconception people might have due to not knowing her age and having older kids.

Zari Admits Her Personal Life Tangles With Her Brand

Zari Hassan, the multi-faceted businesswoman and self-proclaimed “Boss Lady,” is making moves to curate her online image, with personal elements taking a backseat to her carefully crafted brand. In a recent interview, Zari explained that her social media, particularly TikTok, is undergoing a shift. “I am a brand,” she emphasized, “and how I present myself online needs to reflect that.”

This strategic move highlights the potential friction between Zari’s personal life and professional persona. As a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and socialite, it becomes increasingly difficult to manage the diverse narratives on platforms like TikTok. Removing certain elements, possibly including those related to her husband Shakib Cham, could offer clearer separation and protect her brand from any potential turmoil.

The recent birthday mishap exemplifies this potential dissonance. On December 6th, Zari posted a birthday message for Shakib, who shares the same date with their son Nillan. However, Shakib remained silent, leaving speculation swirling about their relationship status.

Furthermore, past incidents, like the stolen phone drama at Zari’s all-white party in 2022, showcase the blurring lines between their personal and professional lives. Shakib’s social media outburst accusing his friends of lack of support for Zari’s event further amplified the public perception of their complex dynamic.

Zari’s decision to refine her online presence appears to be a conscious effort to shield her brand from the uncertainties of her personal life. As she builds her professional empire, maintaining a clear distinction between the “Boss Lady” and the woman behind the brand becomes crucial.

Whether this signals a permanent shift in how Zari navigates her online world remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear: Zari The Boss Lady is taking center stage, and the personal drama, for now, will have to stay behind the curtain.

Zari Hassan & Her Husband Are Trying To Have A Child

Zari Hassan has revealed that she and her husband, Shakib Cham, are trying to have a child. Zari already has five children, and she said that she and Cham are “working on it” when they are ready.

It’s in our plans to have a child. Mr. Lutaaya and I are working on it,” she said

The two recently got married in a private white wedding ceremony in South Africa.

Zari also said that Diamond Platnumz and Shakib met for the first time two weeks ago in South Africa. She said that Platnumz had insisted on meeting Cham because he wanted to know the kind of person who was spending more time with his children than him.

“Some time back, I remember I sat down with Diamond and when I told him I was married he said he wanted to meet my man,”she said.

Zari says Diamond wanted to “know the kind of person that was spending more time with his children than him.”

Then I talked to Shakib about it…I asked him if he was down with it and he said yes. In the end, it was the easiest thing to do.”

Zari said that Platnumz was “happy” that Cham was a “kind and cool guy,” and that the two men are now friends.
