Kenyans are up in arms yet again accusing the Chinese of ruining their source of income. Several Kenyans took to Twitter to share their bitter view of how the Chinese ruined their business in Gikombo since they joined their business and started unfair trade.
With Corona Virus effects bitting the economy hard especially in Gikomba Market, a few Kenyans were quick to accuse them of ruining the market yet again. Corana Virus originated in Wuhan, China.
According to some, Chinese nations made business in the market unbearable because of unfair competition.
“Mimi ata I gave up on mitumba. Kitambo in 2018 I used to sell a bale at 13500 for tops na the chinese guy used to sell at 8k. How do I even compete. Niligive up!” said one person on Twitter.

Kenyan traders were infuriated by the move and complained in a move that attracted the attention of Interior CS Fred Matiang’i who ordered for termination of foreigners’ work permits and deportation of all small scale traders competing with Kenyans in the streets.
In January 2020, 7 out of 22 boutiques opposite Jamia Mosque in Nairobi belong to Chinese. To make the matter worse, they are selling their good at half price of those sold by Kenyan traders.
