After the endowed beauty turned heads in Kiambu she recently visited Nation Media Group offices and caused quite the commotion, the offices literally came to a standstill when she walked in.

  just came by at the Nation newsroom, everything was at a standstill. She leaves, and I have not seen the office more animated.

Kenya’s Beauty queen and singer, Rachel Marete is set to receive her second Degree in which she’s graduating with honours. Rachel now has two higher education graduations and has two more to go.

The Miss Universe Kenya 2005 seems to be winning in all fields; most recently in music in which a poll we conducted revealed that she’s sharpened her music skills.

Rachel reckons, “Team-work don’t twerk” as a challenge to young Kenyan girls. She adds, “I feel like socialites are so glorified nowadays for just posting pictures twerking and lounging around that there are barely any represantations of women in the beauty industry with actual brains and I certainly want to be that because I am that.”

Gospel Singer Betty Bayo’s Pastor Husband Embroiled in Drama Following Death of His Son Allegedly Sired with A Church Member

It’s not the first time that Pastor Victor Kanyari, Betty Bayo’s husband is making the headlines for the wrong reasons. The Pastor seems to have a knack for drama and controversy.

Recently, the lead pastor at the Salvations Healing Ministries was embroiled in drama in Umoja when police were forced to shoot in the air to disperse an angry mob that was baying for his blood after the pastor went to pick the body of his son allegedly sired with a church member.

The neighbours were infuriated with the pastor whom they blamed for child neglect and had now to gone to pick his body after the one year old boy died from suffocation following a fire that gut down the bedsitter he had allegedly rented for the baby’s mom.

But Nigeria is not a country where the rich up and go; you have to have a bodyguard due to the crazy insecurity levels in the country.

According to statistics released by NYA, a world-leading crisis prevention and response consultancy,, thousands of kidnappings take place in Nigeria yearly with the country without fail making it to the top 10 countries for kidnapping in the world.

Another report also claims that 74% of kidnappings in Africa take place in Nairaland, so if Vera is to make it back to the 254 safely, she needs a bodyguard.

But their life had not always been rosy. When they were young their family fell from grace and they had to move from the urban area Umoja to the slums of Shauri Moyo. Now that they were poor they were cast out and ostracized by their former friends something which Margret say affected her very much and motivated her to become rich so that she wouldn’t be ostracized ever again.

Who Knew?! UhuRuto Could Sing?

The Kenyan public expects a lot from its President, but no one expected what he delivered Thursday morning.

During the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel, President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto broke into a well-known Christian hymn we all grew up with, “Blessed Assuarance”. And the mini-performance was shockingly good.     

With Uhuru singing with bass and Ruto in alto, the two leaders could make a formidable singing duo and give some Kenyan artistes a run for their money.

“Okay, let’s do it, Blessed Assurance…” declared the President before breaking into the hymn drawing cheers and applause from the crowd after he was done.

As producer he has produced hit after hit of cutting edge hip hop music in Kenya, and Africa. His prowess at producing some of the most electric tunes at such a young age can only mean a future in hip hop mastery and upper swag. As a group, Camp Mulla was a BET Award nominee (2-5-4Low) as they continued to strive to lead the African music scene to new heights.

Now, this one is a little dicey… I want to appreciate a rather sexy lady who happens to have a celebrity daughter. And aye, while some would want to put her in the MILF category, personally, I don’t want to go so far. I find it tasteless. Jamaican Dancehall Singer Busy Signal to Perform in Nakuru

After Konshens made his way to the 254 in April, yet another Jamaican big-shot might be on his way.

Nakuru-based radio station, Hero Radio, has just revealed that they are planning to fly in Dancehall superstar, Busy Signal, for a concert they are organizing in August.

In fact, the poster for the 30th August gig is out even though details about the venue and gate charges are still scanty.

Busy Signal has been a large part of the scene since 2003. His first hit single, “Step Out”, was one of the most popular dancehall songs in 2005. His other tracks like Come Over (Missing You), Reggae Music Again, One More Night, Sweet Love among others.

As we all know Nation F.M wanted to bring intellect and rationality to morning radio which is the opposite of what Classic 105 in the morning traffics, disgraces and salacious revelations Nation took under its wings the audience who felt that scandals in the morning was not their cup of tea.

Yesterday we pitted the two radio station against each other to know which one truly dominates the airwaves. Do Kenyans want to let loose with Classic 105 or do they want serious talk with Nation F.M? Who is the alpha, the tsar the numero uno? Is it Classic 105 or is it Nation F.M?

They introduced themselves as socialites, but they are not your customary Ivy League educated aristocratic socialites, these were just a bunch of girls who loved releasing sexy pictures and loved a good party. We recently caught up with Octopizzo who thought socialites are just women who are famous for having big booties. He says that he would want to see a good-looking, brainy socialite who is famous for actually doing something meaningful and not for having a huge derriere .
