After the KICC cholera scare saw two top Cabinet Ministers admitted in hospital and scores of others taken ill, the Government moved with speed to close down two top luxury Hotels indefinitely.

One of the hotels was Jacaranda Hotel, a 53-year old property that was founded by the late Billionaire politician Njenga Karume and has been one of the top Hotels in Nairobi for over half a century now.

The other was Valencia Hotel, located in Westlands also a top-tier eatery.

However, it has now emerged that the hotel that actually provided people with catering services on that fateful day was actually Valencia and not Jacaranda as earlier indicated.

 

The outbreak was also said to have affected customers of Weston Hotel, which is actually where the matter was first reported.

After the Government directive, Jacaranda Hotel moved with speed to allay the fears and also cooperate with the Government on clearing up the matter and setting the record straight.

And despite the fact that the hotel’s reputation has been seriously dented, the management insists on its innocence and maintains that they are working to clear their name from any further damage and misrepresentation.

 

Looks like 2017 is officially the year of pretty much all the biggest International stars (Beyonce, are you reading this?) trooping into the Country and now, the famed Real Housewives of Atlanta cast seems to have caught the Kenyan bug and are now expected into the Country any minute from now – Just to party. Kenya seems to be the hotbed of local stars trooping into the Country as more and more stars, from Nigeria to Jamaica, seem keen to step foot into this beautiful land. And camp here even.

Now, Mojo Morgan, one of the MOST celebrated music stars from Jamaica, from the legendary Reggae Outfit Morgan Heritage, is coming into the Country to celebrate his birthday in spectacular style – Right in the heart of Wetslands.

On hand to help the Reggae Maestro usher in a new year, will be a galaxy of local stars and celebrities who will be popping champagne and drowning expensive whiskies all night as the music blares on.

The jamboree is expected to be held at the swanky Sting Bar in Westlands as other revelers help sing Happy Birthday to one of the most decorated and legendary voices in the Reggae World.

Mojo, who flew in from the USA this week, will be in the Country to bask in his birthday glory, will be actually marking his birthday on Monday next week.

But a good party can never wait too long.

And to make sure that the Reggae icon has the greatest party of all time, the management of the Club, which is located along Soin Arcade off Mpaka Road, has ensured that the security will not only be tight enough but also that the food and drinks will be in plenty.
