Strange World: Man Commits Suicide Over Ugali

Yes you read that right. A man hailing from Migosi Village in Gem, Siaya County left villagers shell-shocked after he committed suicide after a spat over ugali.

The man, Samuel Otieno Abuya burst out in anger after his wife served him a small portion of Ugali and started chasing his family around the homestead chucking stones at them. After things has cooled down, the family came back to find that the father of ten had committed suicide after devouring Gladiator, a pesticide meant for termites.

But it seems that Otieno was dealing with graver issues other than the portion of ugali in his plate, neighbors claim that he was a known alcoholic and the neighbor had to chip in to save the family of 12 from starving to death.
The deceased now lies at Yala Mortuary while the police dig deeper into this tragic incident.

This is the New App all the Coolest Peeps are Downloading on Their Phones. All Your Favourite Celebrities are Doing it #ejijipay

There are many apps out there. Apps like whatsapp that enable you to communicate with your friends and apps like 9 gag that will provide endless entertainment just in case you run into a gridlock.

There are also apps like Tinder which hook you up with the hottest girls in town are more than willing to play if you know what I mean. All these apps are cool but I don’t think they even come close to eJijiPay.

This is the new app that has got all of Nairobi talking as it provides the easiest payment method for all Nairobi County services. I’m talking parking fees, land rates, rent, business permits and anything else you might owe.

Downloading it is easy as a Davido show flopping *coughs* and it’s even easier to get started considering the user friendliness. And if you don’t own a Smartphone, no worries as it is also accessible through your PC.

All you have to do is follow these easy steps:

Kiss FM’s Presenter Reveals The Greatest Heartbreak She Has Ever Had

It has been three years since she got the worst heartbreak in her life. From 2012 to date, Adelle Onyango is still feeling the pain in her heart.

The outspoken Kiss FM’s presenter, Adelle Onyango, lost her mother, Mary Anyango, three years ago. The former NCIC commissioner succumbed to cancer after battling the chronic disease for 13 long years.

adelle_mom.jpg

Her demise is the greatest heartbreak Adelle Onyango has ever experienced. The radio presenter penned a heartfelt letter revealing the pain she still feels three years after her mother’s departure.

Probably the realist I’ve gotten since you left – I have less inhibitions.

I loathe that I have to talk about you in past tense and that I can’t remember our last conversation. I remember the day just not what we talked about. I don’t remember your voice and that sucks too.

The battle is trying not to forget the greatest heartbreak i.e your death when the coward in me (that’s not about that pain) thinks forgetting means healing. Foolish, I know.

How Davido’s Phone Was Allegedly Stolen: An Eye-Witness Account

It all started with a simple tweet from a disgruntled fan that had earlier sent a flurry of angry tweets after a disappointing performance in his latest concert.

Now it has blown up to a full blown scandal that has painted Kenya in a bad light, as a place where international artistes cannot perform in peace without someone nabbing their phone.

We spoke to one of the socialites who had accompanied Davido to the club where his phone vanished. She says that she had sat on the V.I.P lounge in the company of Vera Sidika, Victoria Kimani, Davido and his entourage. Apparently Davido got super wasted and blacked out and he was moved to another section of the V.I.P and that is when hell broke loose .His female fans stormed into the VIP and mobbed him, groped him and as soon as they were done his phone was gone!

davido_skyluxx_3.jpg

A representative from Skyluxx however gave a different account. He says that Davido spent only 20 mins in the club, surrounded by security guards and his crew which composed of 20 Nigerians.

davido_skyluxx.jpg

The Nigerians had earlier caused some fracas at the club’s entrance after security guard tried to stop them at the entrance for the procedural security check, and they refused to comply.

He also says that probably someone from his crew stole his phone as Davido made sure he was surrounded by his security at all times, while at Skyluxx security cleared his way. He did not touch anyone or talk to any fans, no fans could reach him as the socialite alleges.

He decided he cannot stay in a full club as it too uncomfortable so he was escorted out and did not cause any tantrum as previously stated by some blogs.

He claimed that he had photographic Evidence that Davido was surrounded by his crew at all times.Providing some of these photos as evidence that Davido couldn’t have possibly been robbed by Skyluxx’s revelers.

When Etemesi wrote about the flop that Was Davido’s concert at the carnivore, everyone else jumped onto the bandwagon and everyone has been hating on the concert that was. As Davido sits in his Maserati licking his troll wounds, here is the second day of trolling. Kenyans have refused to let the matter rest.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:

He can’t even get the plural right, I think he owed  us that.

How do you expect East Africa’s richest musician to roll at the region’s biggest reality show? Well, Jose Chameleone didn’t disappoint, he did exactly what is expected of a celebrity of his caliber.

Jose Chameleone sure knows how to make a lasting impression. He didn’t utter a word or pull out uncanny behavior, his Escalade spoke louder than anything else.

SHOCKING: Habida Reveals How She Was Raped

Habida is one of the most gorgeous and ever smiling artistes in Kenya. She is known to be outgoing and social, and perhaps this could explain why sometimes she gets so high while YOLOing with friends and her fans.

Behind the beautiful face and voice that Habida is blessed with, the singer has a story that she has held on to and kept a top secret until late last week when she opened up about it.

When Mzazi Willy M Tuva hosted the songbird on his Mambo Mseto show on Radio Citizen, Habida finally decided it was time to tell the world her well-kept secret.

She was raped by a close friend.

Habida says that it was after they had enjoyed themselves and she got too drunk to get home by herself. Her friend offered to drop her home and that is how it came to happen that the man did not take the singer home. Instead, he raped her on her drunken state.

Why did she not report the matter?

Habida says she just decided to let it go because she did not allow it to get into her so much. She says that she decided that this was not going to break her spirit and dictate her life and so she decided to let it go.

The singer says that she has since moved on and she doesn’t see it as a big deal because it is her past. She advices fellow ladies to let such things go because if they allow them to dictate their lives, they will break them down.

Here is the whole interview as it went down between Habida and Mzazi Willy M Tuva:

5 International Celebrities That Have Been Robbed While On A Visit To Kenya. Sean Paul’s Incident Was The Most Shocking (Photos)

Some crooks have been busy denting the country’s reputation on the face of the world with their distasteful profession. These anonymous thieves have made international stars develop cold feet when they think of visiting Kenya.

Most international celebrities who have been robbed in Kenya didn’t even know they lost their valuables, not until when they checked later on. It seems the thieves were kind enough to politely steal from them.

sean-paul-tomahawk.jpg

First on our radar is Sean Paul. He lost his phone in Kenya at a time when handsets were the privilege of the rich. Back then in 2004, for an ordinary person to own a phone, they would have parted way with a large chunk of their three month salary or even taken a loan.

Sean Paul had just finished dropping a thrilling performance at Carnivore when he was approached by fans who carried him up high in appreciation of his electrifying gig. The Jamaican star didn’t know the thieves were only masquerading as fans and that their main objective was to take his phone.

Just like that, Sean Paul lost his costly smart phone which had very important personal data. The incident annoyed the ragga artist that he decided to snob Kenya and opted to perform in Uganda during his next visit to East Africa.

glan.jpg

Next victim is Glen Washington. The reggae singer is also said to have lost his phone during a visit to the country. The phone was rumored to have been stolen by a popular female radio presenter who was seen seated close to Glen before it went missing.

mama_g.jpg

Mama G or better known as Patience Ozokwor has also been a victim of theft when she visited the country in 2011.

The Nigerian actress lost her phone while she was in company of other Nollywood stars. Mama G had visited University of Nairobi where she had an interactive session with students before heading to Brookhouse to address drama club members.

It’s believed Mama G lost her phone somewhere while attending the two events. Between students of Brookhouse and University of Nairobi, who would you bet your money are the most likely culprits?

taurus.jpg

Another reggae star who lost a phone in Kenya is Tarrus Riley. The Jamaican was robbed of his iPhone during a press conference held at the posh Sankara Hotel in 2012. Even after a thorough search, Tarrus’ iPhone couldn’t be located.

He is said to have pleaded with the thief to return his sim card and keep the phone for themselves but the heartless thug (s) couldn’t hear any of his plea.

Davido_1.jpg

Last but not least is Nigerian heartthrob, Davido. Come to notice this list is dominated by Jamaicans and Nigerians. Seems they are thieves’ magnet!

Davido lost his phone at the exquisite Skylux Lounge after dropping a not so impressive performance at Carnivore. It seems the thief was making him pay; how could folks spend been 2500-8000k then you are just in a hurry on stage! Anyway, the first suspect should be the pretty ladies who were surrounding him. Si that’s how detectives starts investigating crime; from the general to the specific.

Well, I feel too bad for these international celebrities but they should know better. Not all those hanging with them during their concerts have good intentions, some are thieves!

You Can Rant all You Want but These Individuals Have Little to Regret for Attending Davido’s Concert

So the much anticipated Davido concert went down last week and by the look of things, it didn’t quite go as people anticipated.

It was a huge flop alright but I’m pretty sure these crop of people have little to complain about. They might have not enjoyed the performance but that’s just about it, they had nothing else to lose and by these people I’m talking about Kaduda phone users. For those not yet acquainted, the Intel 2100 is the new flagship phone by the most innovative phone network provider in Kenya, Orange.

First of all, they had very little light stuff to carry around as the phone is pretty simple, light and sleek so it easily fits in the pocket. Thus when they jumped up and down when Davido entered the stage, they had very little weight to carry so the disappointment was less when the performance ended up being subliminal. Can you imagine jumping all that high with a tablet in the pocket only for someone to pull something so mediocre?

And when they resulted to drinking to comfort themselves, they had little to worry about pick pockets as no thief wants such a phone; maybe just the smart ones who know just what the Kaduda is made of. The phone also has a torch so when they got so high and they had to walk in the thick grass rampant in carnivore grounds, it was easy to identify their steps and where they had parked their cars. Majority of these other big phones don’t have that.

Since it also has a very high end camera, they took selfies to ensure that they keep that day in mind. You know, the day they got duped of their hard earned money. I’m pretty sure that would serve as a valuable lesson for their kids.

And since the Kaduda phone is dual sim, they were able to communicate to all their friends who were bound to make their way to carnivore and warn them that things were not looking very good a noble cause if I might add.

Lastly, when they got so angry after seeing their favourite African artiste put up such a mediocre performance and decided to throw their phones on their ground, they had little losses to contend as the Kaduda is only 999 bob. Try banging an iPhone on the wall and see how that goes.

So it’s better to be a Kaduda user as it acts as a shock absorber in these kinds of situations.

Ladies; Tips Revealed on How You Kwatchua a Husband. Even That Nigerian You Are Eyeing Right Now #StoryLab

Numerous are times as women do we tell men we love them but we don’t. But we do not match up to the number of men that tell women the three magical words. Women are more emotional beings, we get lied to we are loved so we can give up the cookie. Such an old trick in the book but works every other time!

Telling someone you love but you really don’t do you feel that fall at the pit of your stomach and eewish, and just wish to roll over and just die! I do. For the life of me I cannot tell you I love you and I don’t. Those three words mean a lot to me, so I just don’t walk around dishing them out like Patco! I have to feel it, fight it, till it overwhelms me before I do. I’m weirdly wired like that.

Why do you tell people you love them and you actually don’t? And what’s the feeling you get after that?

This is the drama that will unfold in tonight’s episode 5 of How to Find a Husband. Don’t wait to be told half-witted stories. At 10pm make yourself comfy and switch Maisha Magic, Channel 161. You can also catch it on DSTV Catch Up if you are a premium subscriber just in case you miss today’s show with all the traffic and ol.

Till then, here’s a recap from last episode;

Eldoret Matatu Makes A Fool Out Of Vera Sidika. See What They Did (Photo)

The one and only Vera Sidika was honored by an Eldoret matatu. The irony of the rare adornment however will throw you off the chair.

Who said Vera Sidika wasn’t worth emulating? She is one of the few Kenyans who make millions within a snap of the finger. With such a reputation, certainly lots of people must be looking up to her.

Many may harbor hate for Vera Sidika but not Eldoret touts; they have mad love for the self-styled socialite, oh! Is it prostitute? Bet the two go hand in hand.

So these makangas from the athletic capital of Kenya decided to express their admiration for Vera with a conspicuous graffiti on their matatu. I think someone misinformed Vera it was a Nairobi matatu because she went full blast with joy yapping how Nairobi loves her.

vera.jpg

Eldoret residents were however quick to remind her the mat plies on their route and not Nairobi as she earlier intimated. Sorry Vera!

Well, the irony of the rare admiration is very simple. As a matter of fact, most of folks enlightened Vera about it too. A matatu is a form of public transportation, everyone uses it. And remember you also get to pay for it, right? Now fast forward to the meaning of prostitute; typically a woman, who engages in sexual activity for payment.

So anyone can pay a hooker for a ride, connect the two; a matatu and a whore and you will see how Eldoret touts were making a fool out of Vera.

Go to the next page and check out some of the hilarious comments posted on Facebook after Vera uploaded a photo of the Eldoret matatu:

Who Knew That K24’s Michelle Morgan Could Get This Wild? (Photos)

When Michelle Morgan made her first appearance on our screens, Kenyans were immediately infatuated with her all-around beauty and charming demeanor. Qualities that have made her a hit to date and will surely keep her around for years to come.

But do not be fooled by her doe-like appearance, she is wild at heart.

The K24 prime time news anchors knees recently visited the quaint Coastal town of Diani and enjoyed one of the pleasures the coastal beach had to offer, Sky Diving.

The daredevil anchor shared photos of herself high up in the air and she looked pretty stoked about experiencing the exhilarating extreme sport that would leave most of us peeing in our pants out of  fear of plunging to our deaths.

20 Years Ago, This Is What Julie Gichuru Did As A University Student In Cardiff, Wales (Photo)

When you turn on your TV on Sunday evening, tune in to Citizen TV and see that glittering face smile at you with a warm welcome for Sunday Live, know that you are staring at a face that has traveled far and wide and did a lot of things for this country and our continent as well.

Julie Gichuru, one of Kenya’s most celebrated and well-traveled TV personalities, has a past, and her past is not a bitter one. It is actually a glittering and an inspirational one.

Julie has shared her days, 20 years ago, when she was an undergraduate student at Cardiff University in Wales, the United Kingdom.

Julie was not here for academic reasons alone. She actually engaged in several activities, all aimed at selling the name of our country to the world.

This was way back in 1995 when Julie modeled for Kenya. The TV siren has shared a photo of herself strutting on the catwalk as she donned a nice African kitenge and of course raised its hemline a bit higher to show her thigh.

Julie probably never disappointed I guess. Then I was only 4 years old. It is a long time remember but Julie as soldiered on and it seems her destiny is just an amazing one.

Here is what the TV queen shared:

INSPIRATIONAL TUESDAY: Radio Queen Opens Up About Her Journey To Stardom…This Is The Greatest Inspirational Story Ever Told

She is arguably one of the finest voices behind radio today. Despite working in an environment that is quickly surrendering to stiff competition, she has remained a voice to reckon with, an admiration and of course many people’s favourite.

But behind all these compliments, an inspirational story lies: a story of a lady who picked herself from ashes, dusted up and embarked on a journey to become one of the most coveted and sought after radio voices.

Here is the story of KBC’s Cynthia Anyango as she revealed exclusively to Ghafla Kenya:

Born and raised in Mombasa, Cynthia found life taking a twist she never expected. Instead of going up, it all started descending quickly and everything became difficult for her. She had no option but to resort to dancing in clubs to entertain revelers who paid her for her upkeep.

So Cynthia danced at Bob’s Bar in the coastal city.

It was while she danced here that someone discovered her and helped her enroll at Mombasa Polytechnic where she studied a diploma in Mass Communication.

Cynthia worked hard amid difficulties like raising school fees but luckily she managed to finish her studies. While at college, she worked as a preacher after getting saved and it was here that her dream to work in a media house was discovered.

cynthia.jpg

Someone discovered her prowess and recommended her to Pwani FM. She underwent the necessary procedures and luckily passed and was offered a job at the station.

Here, she ran the gospel show where she could preach and play songs.

It was while she worked for Pwani FM that KBC spotted her talent and poached him to their stations in Nairobi.

Cynthia has since forged a formidable relationship with her co-host Bonnie Musambi and two are arguably the greatest pair of presenters that KBC boasts today.

The radio queen’s story is just an inspirational one for those wanting to pursue journalism and other careers. Nothing comes on a silver salver they say.

No Wedding Bells For Jaguar Just Yet. Here Is The Real Reason Why He Is Not Settling Down

Forget all the rumors flying around, the king of Kenyan showbiz is not walking down the aisle any time soon. Something is restraining!

Most ladies would move mountains to have a man like Jaguar as their hubby. Jaguar has however broken hearts of most of his potential suitors with his declaration.

A lot has been said about Jaguar dating so and so and that he was looking forward to tie the knot soon. All those were mere grapevine, the truth straight from the horse’s mouth has finally arrived.

Jaguar has opened up about his relationship burying many speculations that he was settling down soon. The father of two disclosed he isn’t ready to be committed to someone because he was still taking care of his two pretty daughters.

“There’s been a lot of talk about me marrying. Guess we all want that one day… At the moment I just want to be a good father to my two lovely daughters. I thank God for them and I Thank God for your well wishes.” Wrote Jaguar.

Sorry ladies, got to wait a little longer!

Nonini Vs Jua Cali: Who Has Always Been The Better Artiste? (ANALYSIS)

In the track ‘Moto Wa Kuotea Mbali’, Nameless says, “Respect your elders, I started singing when you were still in diapers.” That’s a mature line from one of Kenya’s mainstream music pioneers. In as much as we love to celebrate the musical acts of today, we must never forget where it all started

Nonini and Jua Cali are both responsible for the emergence of Genge. Some people have grown up listening to them, while some have grown old listening to them. Fame is like a lotus flower, at one time it’s bright, shiny and then after a while it withers and dies. Many artistes who began their music careers at around the same time as Jua Cali and Nonini have faded, witherd and gone silent. The two both started out at Calif records but Nonini opted out to other production houses later on. Jua Cali stuck with Clemmo and that decision paid off well.

Nonini refers to himself as ‘The Godfather of Genge’ whereas Jua Cali is ‘Baba Yao’. It takes special talent, discipline and commitment to stay relevant in the competitive showbiz industry. Even though the two are not as big as they used to be back in the day, their songs radiate maturity and powerful delivery. But what really separates them? Who’s better than the other? Or are they just great in equal and different measure? A close analysis might help us determine this.

noni jua 3

Style

Nonini started out as the daring rapper with vulgar lyrics. His style made him controversial but popular. He had balls that no other rapper had back then. In an age where the society was still conservative and explicit content in music was not tolerated, Nonini preferred to stick by what he believed in, and the rewards were handsome. His bold attitude was a plus. He may not be a favorite among older peeps who felt he spoiled their children but with the younger generation, he was mighty. However, Nonini has trend-hopped his way through the years, adopting new flows, sounds, and styles. He has changed his musical view to more of inspiration and advisory.

Jua Cali started out with a style that involved putting stress on words. This style came with a form of unique aura that people loved. Although he also used vulgar content in his music from time to time, he did so in a not so open manner. The rapper has always managed to rap about things that the younger generation finds interesting.  Jua Cali’s style has stayed the same, though each track has a different feel to it, a slight deviation. Instead of borrowing flows, he refined the one he came up with. And at a time when older rappers are trying to figure out a way to gracefully age while staying hip to the new shit, Jua Cali, as displayed on Karibu Nairobi, is comfortable doing what feels comfortable to him. There’s no funny hook. No modern beats. No change in image. Just the one and true Jua Cali. In 2015, that sounds like a win.

Hit Power

These two artistes have always managed to come up with lyrically hard hitting tracks. Their songs are radio friendly and club bangers too. Songs that these two artistes released years ago still bring back good memories and create the party feeling. In terms of coming up with quality music laden with sure flow, these two stand on equal ground.

noni jua 2

Consistency

Despite their consistence, both artistes take sabbaticals once in a while. Sometimes Nonini has been less consistent than Jua Cali. Maybe it’s due to his business projects and the heavy work involved in his charity projects. Jua Cali on the other end has been merciless, releasing track after track and getting worthy rotation. He has had his quiet moments too. No one can be perfect really. However, the truth still remains- both artistes are certified ‘rapreneurs.’

Achievements and Honors

In other music genres, new artistes have managed to upset the status quo. In Genge, Nonini and Jua cali still hold the most influence. The only other top artistes in that Genre are P-Unit. Nonini’s music career has evidently paid of well. He has at times topped the list of highest earning Kenyan artistes in terms of royalties.

Jua Cali too has been a high earner. Pictures of both artistes from now and ten years ago show that hard work really pays.  From slim hood guys back then, to bosses right now, these artistes have made it. They have won various Kenyan and East African awards and they might just continue doing so if they stay on their well- mastered lanes.

So which of these two legends do you think is the dopest? HAVE YOUR SAY BELOW

Who is better?

Churchill’s Counterpart, MC Jessy, Gets Trolled Badly For Hosting Kanyari…Kenya Harbours The Greatest Panel Of Judges The World Has Ever Seen

Comedian Churchill has been on the receiving end of taunts from Kenyans for the past one week, first for his comments on the rape scandal facing Imenti MP Gideon Mwiti and then for hosting controversial preacher Kanyari on his Churchill Show last Sunday.

The comedian has since apologized for the former.

His counterpart, MC Jessy Jasper, with whom he hosted Kanyari has not been forgiven either. The Hot 96 host who co-hosted the show with Churchill lit up a fire that he has found difficult to put off.

MC Jessy asked for views from his fans and believe it what he received was not just backlash but also ridiculed and curses for what many think is mocking God.

Here is a sample of the responses he got:

MC Jessy asked:
