Let me first say that this year’s contestants are the craziest lot ever witnessed. Back to the matter at hand; whether the pint-sized Seirra Leonean dude had one too many or was sober, his action last evening was totally outrageous.

It was Bassey’s chance in Rendezvous Room with Beverly when he decided to run wild as he begged for a bang from the Nigerian but a rather outlandish manner.

Bassey recently kicked it off with a smaller request for a kiss using both peaceful and forceful means, he later went more wild with an attempt to use the given Rubber for a bang of course! Whether he was serious or not cannot be quickly ascertained but that could only be told if Beverly had submitted to his demands which she didn’t.

After that failed, he then decided to flash his privates at the Nigerian model, to see if it could change her mind and put her in the same state he was in. After showing Beverly his baloney pony he asked her is she had liked it!

This was a total pause moment!

In the midst of a strong criticism in the media on an alleged sexual intercourse between Ghana’s Selly and Nando from Tanzania in the ongoing Big Brother-The Chase, Selly’s mother has finally reacted in defense of her daughter, just like Pokello’s dad did when her sextape leaked.

According to Ghana Web, a leading entertainment blog in Ghana, Selly’s mum, Mrs. Benedicta Galley who spoke in an exclusive interview on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” seems to have seen things quite differently from what most people are already insinuating. Contrary to what is perceived as a shameful act for Selly to have sex on inter-continental television, her mother still insists that Selorm Galley who is her only child did not have sex.

“In the Big Brother house things are not that open especially about the romantic scenes for everybody to see that people are having sexy openly because everything is done under the blanket. We always see male and females together so for me I don’t think they had sex as it is being speculated all over”, madam Galley stressed adding that Ghanaian must not concentrate on the negatives but should rather focus on the positives and support Selly to bring the money home.

She also made reference to Selly’s boyfriend Praye Tiatia’s refusal to comment on the incident saying she is very happy he didn’t comment and that he is going to wait for Selly herself to come back home and explain what really happened.

On her opinion the whole Big Brother Africa show, madam Benedicta who said she was not really a fun of BBA until her daughter entered, said if you decide to enter it is very difficult to back out along the way so you have to follow the dictates of the game and do whatever you are asked to do because everyone’s target is the ultimate prize so if you back out then it means you have been defeated.

Though she thinks that Big Brother have explained to all the housemates how far the game can go so that whoever is not comfortable will not even enter in the first place, she believes that as far as you start the game you should go all out to achieve the reason why you went there.

Asked what she told her daughter before she went to South Africa, the proud mother said “I really advised her because she is not a bad girl. A lot of people knew her before she won the beauty pageant and the few movies she has acted in and she knows herself the kind of home she is from. So it is really surprising that people are thinking that she had sex in front of all the cameras and in front of the whole of Africa when she knows that she has a boyfriend back home whom she is to going get married to very soon”.

“Everything they do there is under the blanket. Sometimes see you two people under the blanket whether they are kissing or whatever they are doing nobody can tell. It is not so plane for people to judge that truly this what went on”.

Asked specifically if she think Nando had sex with Selly or not, she said “I don’t believe Selly had sex. Even Big Brother himself could not go under the blanket to see what really happened because I have seen several other male and female housemates who also were under the blanket doing the same thing so you cannot determine that simply because a male and a female are under the blanket it means they are having sex”, Madam Benedicta Galley emphasized.

This comes after Selly’s boyfriend, Praye Tiatia, was advised to dump her after the incident.

If you have watched this video, then you understand that Selly and Nando somehow got intimate in the house. Selly is supposedly married outside Big Brother Africa, and this might not go down well with her husband, Praye Tiatia.

 After the clip emerged online of the Ghanaian housemate and his Tanzanian housemate Nando bonking in the Big Brother Africa (BBA) house, various opinions have emerged on how her relationship with Praye Tiatia will turn out. Some people believe the whole reality show is a game and therefore housemates could do anything and everything possible to stay in the house and ultimately win the $300,000 cash prize.

However, the Chief Executive of Bull Haus Entertainment, Bull Dog, has advised Steven Fiawoo known in showbiz as Praye Tiatia of Praye fame to break up with his girlfriend, Selly.

In an exclusive interview with NEWS-ONE, stated that if he were Praye Tiatia he would end the relationship with Selly no matter the situation because having sex with another person aside your partner has been proven to be the main cause of broken relationships.

“One thing I will note is that the BBA is just a game and there is no way I’m going to agree that my girlfriend or wife will go there and have sex in order to bring home that money. If I do that, then it means I’m lazy as a man and I’m unable to take care of my girlfriend or wife. Let us not forget the Praye Tiatia is a celebrity,” the member of the organizing team for the maiden edition of the BASS awards noted.

However, it is difficult to tell whether it is only a strategy adopted by the Ghanaian housemate in the Big Brother competition, Selorm Galley, also known as Selly, to win the cash prize that has pushed her into romantic overtures towards multiple men in the house but Bull Dog maintains that: “if I were Praye Tiatia, I would not condone such an act.”

“Maybe if it was just a kiss I would have let it go but going to the extent of having sex? Not me, I won’t allow that because the whole world saw you giving it out willingly.”

Having sex is allowed in Big Brother Africa. However, it is not advisable to have sex in the house, why?

• Cameras are all over, you will be seen by everyone
• Your reputation will be ruined outside Big Brother Africa
• Your real relationship [outside BBA] might end

So all contestants have a choice, to or not to have sex in the house. The ball is in their court, they decide to do what they want to do with it.

I just received word from one of the producers who has asked that he remain anonymous. The lad has come out to tell Uncle Chim Tuna about the rotten side of comedy. A side that involves sabotage and undercutting each other. And the allegations are rather damaging. This is what the lad whom i shall dub “Taylor” has to say:

Comedy Club versus Churchill Beef

Today there was a story on a local publication saying that there is a beef between Churchill and JB. Apparently, the beef is between comedy club producers and Churchill over NTV programming schedules. Apparently, comedy club is aggrieved by Churchill’s move to have Churchill Raw run on Monday 8.30pm as from July, a slot occupied by comedy club for the last nine months. Churchill’s move has gained a lot of support from a significant section of NTV staff who feel that Comedy Club should be relegated to QTV and the Thursday slot, where Churchill Raw runs be given back to Mali drama. Comedy club’s ratings have suffered since the exit of JB Masanduku (Nathan Kimani) who was the principal character and host and the exit of regular guest character “President Kibaki” (Harrison Kerwholer ). JB moved out of the program in protest after being mistreated by the executive producer, and now hosts an afternoon show at ONE FM while Mr President exited comedy to concentrate on his PhD at a local private university.

This is not the first incident where a program is being pushed from NTV to QTV. A month ago, Kajairo had a hand in moving Raiyaa by Mwafrika and Rapcha to QTV to pave way for his NTV Pranksters show which has been airing on Fridays on NTV for over a month. Rumours indicate that Beba Beba is also on its way to QTV to pave way for an upcoming local drama.

I have always said I have an eye for tall, dark bombshell beauties and Tahidi High’s Shish fits the billing. The lass is unbelievably stunning and the fact that she is dark skinned is a huge bonus if you ask me.

You are actually not so dear. I have been receiving all your belly aching commentaries and open letters for about a month now and to be honest I am fed up!

You keep whining about the general “lack of morals” on display in the BBA house down south and i am at a loss as to how you can talk so boldly yet it is you who pay for the service. Multichoice has not force fed any of you their bouquet which means that you have elected to subscribe to the pay per view service.

I keep seeing messages talking about African values and I am now calling out all of you! Especially you my dear Kenyan brothers and sisters. With all the scandals going on in Kiambu and Mombasa, how dare you talk? Oh! So you want to pretend that you have no idea what I am croaking about? This.
Yeah, I’m talking about this.

Why would you be so quick to spot the speck in the other’s eyes yet you have an entire tree trunk jammed in yours?

But away from that argument. Allow me to simply state the obvious. If you feel that your sensibilities are being offended then simply switch off the telly. Do not engage in talk about Big Brother Africa or anyone else. instead of spending your days distracted by your anger, move on. Multichoice are serving a clientele. Where there is demand, there will be supply. As simple as that. I for one really enjoy BBA.

Be mature about your likes and dislikes. Get off your soap box and move on already.
 You do not see me writing open letters to Kenya’s football team after they made me the laughing stock of my family! Move on.

Africa’s youth portal, Youth Village Africa, has just released a list of the top young people doing remarkable work in their countries to facilitate development in the lives of people in their communities and throughout the continent.

Youth Village Africa, is an initiative founded and owned by 24 year old Social Entrepreneur and Global Change Maker, Bruce Dube. This initiative focuses extensively on facilitating better access to developmental information across Africa with core focus on African youth.

This year’s list identifies young Africans, mostly below 30 years of age, who are prominent in their areas of activism or fields of expertise and are coming up with innovative ways to address some of the challenges faced by the continent. Among these are 6 Kenyans with photo-activist Boniface Mwangi and blogger Ory Okolloh leading the pack.

Here are their profiles;

Boniface Mwangi is an award winning Kenyan photographer and photo-activist. Boniface is the Project Director of Picha Mtaani, which is a mobile photo exhibition held in towns across Kenya, showcasing photographs of the post-election violence that rocked various parts of the country in 2007/08. Picha Mtaani has reached over 500,000 individuals and plans to develop an online platform that will use photography as a catalyst for social change across East Africa. Boniface has worked as a photojournalist for the Standard, and has worked as a freelancer for Bloomberg, the AFP, Reuters, the Boston Globe, as well as a number of other media outlets. He holds a Diploma in Print Journalism from the East African School of Journalism, and has been recognized as a TED Fellow and twice as the CNN Multichoice Africa Photojournalist of the Year.

Ory Okolloh a Kenyan activist, lawyer, and blogger. She is currently a Policy Manager for Africa with Google. In 2006 she co-founded the parliamentary watchdog site Mzalendo (Patriot). The site sought to increase government accountability by systematically recording bills, speeches, MPs, standing orders, etc. She helped Kenya create Ushahidi (Witness) website in due to the violence that was taking place in 2007. The website was used to record and report any reports on violence by using text messages and Google maps. This Technology is now been adapted in a number of countries. Ory Okolloh also worked as a legal consultant for NGOs and has worked at Covington and Burling, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, and the World Bank in the past. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Political science from University of Pittsburgh and Graduated from Harvard Law School in 2005.

The other great young minds include;

Evans Wadongo: an engineer, the Executive Director and Chairman of SDFA-Kenya, and one of CNN’s top ten heroes of 2010.

Kariuki Gathitu: founder MPAYER; a mobile money management system

Eddy Gicheru Oketch: founder and Trustee of PAD (www.padinst.org); a youth leadership, peace-building and enterprise incubator that established youth economic empowerment projects and develop African Peace Ambassadors in the continent.

Richard Turere: the innovator behind ‘Lion Lights’ which are flashing lights set up around a perimeter facing outwards; which are used to scare away lions. ‘Lion Lights’ prevent night attacks by lions on his family’s cattle herd in Kitengela.

More and more people seem concerned about this year’s Big Brother Africa – The Chase because barely three days after we published a letter from an aggrieved BBA fan, yet another letter has emerged complaining about The Chase.

A group calling itself, ‘African Youth’ has written to Biggie crying foul about the housemates’ behaviour. Here’s the message;

We African youths wish to ask DSTV to give us a BBA where African Youths are rewarded for creativity and hard work, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and not this morally-loosed show where single parents who can’t keep their relationships go into the house to show their sagging breasts and addiction, mixed-up with ill-mannered people and get rewarded, producing international prostitutes and gigolo. Haba!

Promoting immoral sex is “unafrican”. The BBA is all about immoral behaviour and that is why it attracts lots of fans. You can’t be making money at the expense of your viewer’s lives. If you don’t do something about this, a time will come when the seeds you are sowing into the lives of African youths will germinate to hunt you and your generations yet unborn. There seem to be no single morality lesson to learn than sex and immorality.
DSTV has the best entertainment programming available from across the globe with superior technological innovation that provides unforgettable television viewing experience! If we call BBA entertainment then our sanity, morality and desire for the growth of the African youths needs to be questioned.

How long does it take to imbibe a habit? 21 days; and BBA runs for 90 days!!!, subtly making people become addicted to bad habits.

Sonya of Citizen TV’s high school life TV show, Tahidi High is bereaved. Sonya lost her mother, Mrs. Lucy Wanjiru Njoroge and was laid to rest on Wednesday at the family home in Juja.

A fundraising to assist in settling the hospital bills was held Tuesday at Electricity House, Demonstration Center, on Aga Khan Walk followed by a last meeting held at the family’s home at Kenyatta Road Estate in Juja before the burial later on Wednesday.

I have been watching Big Brother Africa for some time now and I can honestly say that I have learnt quite alot about how our society works. But the most interesting thing I have learnt is that the old adage that good guys finish last is true.

When I tune into BBA The Chase, I get to see just how much ladies like men treating them like dirt! My mind is often blown by this fact… Not really, actually, the fact that I am a douchebag probably explains why I am so successful with the ladies.

But this isn’t about me. It’s about the life lessons learnt from the housemates in BBA. And to illustrate my point, allow me to talk about Elikim.
The Ghanaian lad is proof enough that the more horrible you treat women, the more they like you. The lad jumps into bed with Pokello whenever he elects to. He then jumps into the shower with Fatima. The lasses live in the same house so they know what’s happening but the don’t seem to mind.

Conversely, there’s Angelo. The South African lad has been spurn by every lass he has been interested in. The only lass who has been interested in him is Kenya’s Annabel -the one lass who he isn’t interested in!

Then there was Bolt. While Bolt was doing his hanky panky with Betty, he was sending signals of intent to Beverly Naija’s own! And the lad even had the gaul to brag about flirting with Dillish from Namibia! These are the only guys who seem to be getting the girls! All the good guys are sitting on their hands!

What does that go to show lads? That women enjoy being treated badly! and if that isn’t conclusive proof, I don’t know what is! The bad boy reigns supreme!

The Diamonds are starting to feel the pain of having a non-existent luxuries budget.

In case you missed it, the gang failed to impress Big Brother during last week’s Task and lost their Wager as a result.

Last evening, Beverly revealed how the boys have run out of cigarettes and have resorted to smoking teabags, out of all things. “The situation is bad Biggie. There are no cigarettes in the House so people have resorted to smoking tea”, the Nigerian said. They do say desperate times call for desperate measures!

After trying to score some cigarettes for her fellow Housemates, Beverly quickly realised that Big Brother doesn’t play games. “Beverly, as I told you and your fellow Diamonds before, a 100 percent Wager requires 100 percent effort”.

Maria seemed to have funny requests as well and when Big Brother reminded her that the Housemates can’t complain because they lost their Wager, Maria said “then we’ll strike”. Biggie seemed amused by all of this and encouraged the Diamonds to work hard this week, to ensure that their cupboards are spilling over next week.

Meanwhile, Annabel is up for a possible eviction this week. Vote for her HERE now to keep her in the game.

It would seem that Bolt, Elikem and Fatima have formed a coalition of sorts and the greater common denominator is the destruction of Pokello!

The trio sat outside the house and had a rather brutal conversation about how they plan on fooling Pokello into thinking that Bolt likes her. And what is the end game? Well, they want to see Pokello’s reaction when Bolt does his thing. They just want to get some giggles in!

Apparently, Elikem feelstied down by his relationship with Pokello because he told Bolt that if he could take her off his hands, he would be relieved. I’m just sitting here wondering why he’d rather be spineless about his feelings rather than just let Pokello know he is tired of her.

Bolt said if he had to date her it would be on the down low and no one in the House would know about it.

Hopefully this plan will not backfire because knowing Pokello, she will spaz like no man’s business… Or will she? she might just play this to her advantage. My only question is why a woman was involved in the plot against her own kind.

I have recieved word from my good friend and colleague Kevin Oyugi that after a successful two seasons of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation’s hit TV series Shuga and Shuga: Love Sex Money, there’s a brand new season in the offing, dubbed #ShugaNaija.

and what has my friend talking is the fact that apart from Kenya-based Nigerian actor and musician Ikubese Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu, aka 9con, who will reprise his role as smooth-talking bad boy Femi from Shuga LSM, alongside one of the series’ most popular characters, actor, singer and radio presenter Nick Mutuma, (who plays Leo), it seems the cast of the brand new season will be totally new to the franchise.

A number of other popular Nigerian musicians are also expected to be involved in cameo and acting roles, following hit turns by artistes Banky W and WizKid in Shuga season 2. Further cast members and roles will be revealed at a later date.

The third series of Shuga will see the action move to Lagos following two seasons set among the bars, hangout joints and clubs of Nairobi, Kenya. Specific themes that will be addressed in the series include the reality of living with HIV in Nigeria, maternal and child health, family planning, teen pregnancy, gender-based violence, gender equality and women’s empowerment.

It might seem like Elikem feels ‘burdened’ by his relationship with Pokello because he told Bolt that if he could take her off his hands, he would be relieved. Elikem is such a mean man, how can he say that about Pokello? Fatima was confused as to why Elikem won’t own up as a man and just leave Pokello alone. This was a valid point to which he said he was working on it.

“But Africa will know the game, “ Elikem motivated. Fatima concurred and encouraged the Sierra Leonian to go for it. The guys were convinced that their plan to play Pokello would be entertaining to Africa, so it was imperative that they toy around with her.

Hopefully this plan will not backfire on the two boys because Pokello would not take kindly to it and we all know what happens when she’s not happy with you; she finds a way of getting rid of you. In yesterday’s Diary session, the Zimbabwean dame minced no words when relating how her survival instinct kicks in; “I fight like a man when I have to,” she emphasized.

Will Pokello fall for this trap or will the guys regret ever thinking about it?
