“Hiphop ain’t dead, it went gospel!” MADLOVE LOUNGE-KENYA and ROUGH DIAMONDS PROJECTS {S.A} present LIVE LIFE LOUD. An urban Gospel festival featuring Legendary 116Clique co-founder SHO BARAKA {Gospel & Conscious Hiphop artiste}, S.O the KID {UK}, Gregory Cassim (S.A} along with Kenya’s finest Urban Gospel artistes including Kelele Takatifu, Number 8, Kris Mmh Baba, Yung Nnoiz, Maluda, Nita Hungu, GregoryXiii, Shrink Dance Krew & the Madlove Lounge Family.

Live Life Loud is a Pan-African tour that would also take place in Nigeria, Botswana, South Africa.
Madlove Lounge-Kenya and Rough Diamonds Projects have previously joined forces to bring to Kenya Award winning artistes like DaTruth, The Ambassador, Jahaziel, Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashi, Andy Mineo among others.

In the local front, Madlove Lounge has been responsible in mentoring Gospel artistes from 2007 through Bible studies, artistes breakfast/workshops, annual Hiphop-poetry mixtapes, outreaches and a bi-monthly Madlove Lounge event that has given a platform and launched many urban artistes shaping the youth culture.

Golden Grills Under the Sky is here again with the 2nd edition going down on the 1.3.2014!

The awesome most exciting music concert complete with local live band H_Art the band, video Dj by Creme De La Creme, and Live barbecue event will be held at the PAWA 254 rooftop at Africa Alliance building along
State House Crescent.

Gates open at 1500 hours and this time we even have opening acts to keep you on your feet all day before the main actions starts!

We are looking for a humongous rooftop that can accommodate 1000+ people for a full blown event and plans are in the pipeline to bring international bands but keep the DJ’s and artistes local for that special

Well when he began shooting the video he may did not know what it could end up causing by the time it is done.

First the was the attempted run over by a motorist yet to be known. Then in quick succession the video got pulled down from YouTube due to pornographic claims and in a short while placed back with Facebook issuing an apology.

Well there is no porn in the video and after all the rabble the video is up and Ringtone has moved on.

On Wednesday, my colleague Liatema and I attended a rather interesting exhibition by Tahir Carl Karmali; a Nairobi based photographer and digital & mixed media artist  in conjunction with sculptor Meshack Oiro at the Kuona Trust, and I learned  a lot about Value.

Imagine if you could see through the eyes of a male sex worker, hear them? Get to understand what they value, well there is a place you can do exactly that.

Well , there is a place you can do exactly that… Of course you are not going to see Male Sex Workers posing for you taking questions, but you are going to see something close to that. Welcome to the most intriguing exhibition in town at Kuona Trust, ‘VALUE’.

VALUE is Tahir Carl Kamali debut exhibition. It plays on both the public’s curiosity with the subject of Male Sex Workers who are photographed holding items they value most while challenging the viewer to perceive the value of the object through the subject’s eye and still contemplate on what would they have chosen and in thus find our differences and similarities in value.

In the time when the debate is raging on homosexuality and the nature of the subject of Male Sex Workers then this provocative exhibition is bound to raise the debate albeit in a different angle. The exhibition started yesterday and runs through the 13^th of March, 9am-5pm daily at Kuona Trust, Likoni Lane off Denis Pritt Road.
