K24’s Purity Mwambia And Franklin Wambugu Arrested!

The police are cracking their whip on errant journalists who appear to be denting the government’s name in the eye of the public.

K24 journalists, Purity Mwambia and Franklin Wambugu (Managing editor, Swahili) are the latest big names in the industry to be taken into custody by the police.

The two are alleged to have bribed their way into GSU headquarters in Ruaraka with an improvised explosive device (IED).

Purity was on a mission of filming scenes for her investigative, ‘Bweta La Uhalifu’ which was supposed to air last night on K24.

The exposé wasn’t aired, its trailer has also been pulled down from YouTube.

One would think K24 was immune to government’s prosecution since it’s owned by the President himself, but this is not the case. They are equally liable to legal proceedings.

Anti-terror police took Purity, Franklin and their driver into custody to grill them. We still don’t have details of where they are being held.

Be sure we will inform you as events continue to unfold.

Journalists Condemn Swaleh Mdoe, Mwanahamisi Hamadi And Their Colleagues Over Corruption

Ghafla Kenya exclusively reported a week ago that two of Citizen TV’s top Swahili anchors, Swaleh Mdoe and Mwanahamisi Hamadi alongside several others had been suspended by the station’s management following corruption allegations.

Since the revelation, the story has since gone viral, with many wondering why journalists of such caliber could stoop that low to get brown envelops to kill a negative story about a politician.

And now journalists have come out to condemn the corruption allegations leveled against Swaleh and his colleaugues terming it a great disrepute to the profession.

Speaking on NTV’s Press Pass, journalists among them Capital FM’s Eric Latiff, journalist-turned-politician Naisula Lesuuda, activist Boniface Mwangi and the host of the show Ken Mijungu condemned the act of corruption in the strongest terms possible.

They wondered what could tempt a journalist of Swaleh Mdoe’s stature to receive a brown envelope to kill a story.

While Boniface Mwangi argued that journalists are normally paid poorly, Latiff and Lesuuda argued that that cannot be a justification for compromisisng journalistic code of conduct.

“Journalists should not take bribes at all costs,” Latiff said. Lesuuda backed his sentiment.

Swaleh Mdoe, Mwanahamisi Hamadi, Sishia Wasilwa, and others are suspended for 10 days as investigations into allegations that they received a bribe from a prominent politician to kill a negative story about him surfaced.

Here is what they said:

Knowing People Is Good Sometimes! See What Jaguar Scooped Because He Is The President’s Buddy (Photos)

There is no musician in Kenya who can rival Jaguar in terms of connections, the singer can knock on the highest office in the land and believe you me, the door will be opened unto him within a snap of the finger.

When Jaguar dropped ‘Huu Mwaka’, he simply meant every word he sang in the song. The flamboyant singer is DOMINATING 2015 in every sense of it.

From achieving big in music to excelling in other sphere of life, Jaguar has done it all. Funny enough the year is just on its quarter and Jaguar has accomplished this much, how will things roll out for him by the end of the year?

Yesterday, President Uhuru made 302 appointments to 79 state corporations in the country. Guess what, Jaguar’s name was among the lucky chaps that scooped jobs from the President’s appointments.

Surprised? You shouldn’t be. The ‘Huu Mwaka’ hit maker who also goes by the name Charles Njagua Kanyi was appointed to the board of NACADA for 3 years.

Well, guzzlers you have a reason to be anxious because Jaguar will now be involved in crafting regulations that governs liquor consumption in the country.

jaguar.png

Jaguar’s appointment is not a shocker though, I mean he is very tight with Unye. He occasionally visits the house on the hills to sip tea with the commander in chief.

uhuru_jaguar.jpg

How well would the President appreciate the friendship he has forged with Jaguar other than rewarding him with a lucrative job?

See why you need to know people sometimes!

This Is What Lupita Nyong’o Had To Say About Uganda’s Motormouth, Anne Kansiime

Anne Kansiime could have pulled the plug on her show on Citizen TV but she is still making headlines. She attracted the attention of our very own Lupita Nyong’o.

We all know Kansiime suffers from verbal diarrhea, but then again it’s her inability to shut up that landed her a spot on limelight.

The Ugandan comedian met Hollywood actress, Lupita Nyong’o, who was equally stunned by her marvelous knack.

Oh! I almost forgot to mention, Lupita is in Uganda working on her next project, Disney’s Queen of Katwe; a story Of life, chess and one extraordinary girl’s dream of becoming a grandmaster .

So while she casting for the movie in the Banana Republic it’s when she bumped into Anne Kansiime. Of cause the Ugandan motormouth did her thing that made Lupita cry tears of joy.

Yes! Kansiime was crowned by Lupita, she said she was the funniest Ugandan. What? I though Salvador aka Ombokolo was the dopiest comedian in the 256!

Award Winning, Fashion Savvy Gospel Tv Host Has A Brand New Jam. (photo+ details)

She has to be one of the most inspirational  women on Tv  as we speak. She is an indefatigable force that  has  been life to many through her rigorous ministrations, words of hope and encouragement to the desolate souls as well as her presence on Crossover 101 which she hosts alongside Dj Mo. A program that has been voted as one of the best gospel shows in Kenya.

It would be a travesty to speak about the Kenyan gospel without mentioning about Faith Muturi, she made her mark when she released her single: Karibia and later on Tangaza which she did with Sammy Brayo.

That is not all, on Saurday evening she was in a panel of Judges who were overseeing Talanta Awards Kenyan Edition at the KICC. It was while she went up the stage to announce the winners that she performed her new unreleased Single that she has done alongside the spoken word genius Mufasa.

Details of the release shall be offered later on in the week.

Why President Uhuru’s Plane Risked Being Shot Down In Eritrea Forcing Him To Make A U-Turn And Return Home

It was on Thursday evening when President Uhuru Kenyatta’s military plane made a u-turn on Eritrean airspace and returned home, effectively ending the President trip to the US where he was supposed to attend some conference.

Ghafla Kenya reported that the President’s trip had been cut shot in what was reported as a busy route thanks to the ongoing military action in a volatile Yemen.

However, as events are unfolding, it is reported that someone must have been sleeping on their job, effectively endangering the president’s life.

A local TV station reported that the President’s plane almost got shot down by Eritrean forces for illegally entering its airspace. This clearly tells that the Eritrean government had no clue on the President’s trip, something that should be done early enough before the head of the country jets out.

President Uhuru’s plane was forced to return to Nairobi after entering Eritrea’s airspace from Ethiopia and this angered Eritrea who have a diplomatic row with Ethiopia.

Kenya has no ambassador in Eritrea and this could have jeopardized everything further.

Heads are expected to roll over the bungled trip, with many believing the President’s life was put on danger by some people who slept on their job.

Some argue that it all happened because of a communication breakdown among those responsible for the trip.

Cynthia Nyamai Back At KTN

When Cynthia Nyamai won the Diageo Africa Business Reporting Award for ‘Best Newcomer’ back in 2011, it was clear that this girl could not be overlooked.

And she has had our attention since she left KTN to become an Olivia Pope of sorts and rumor has it, powerful figures run to her in all matters public relations. It is said that her firm secured the incumbent Kenyan president’s slot back in 2013. Even Nigerians are lauding her for her role in the past elections.

Cynthia took a break from her busy schedule for a visit back to where it all began, KTN.

She was on the Friday briefing alongside the beautiful Betty Kyallo

Mustafa Finally Talks About His Crazy Beef With Prezzo. It’s Not Huddah Monroe That Tore Them Apart This Time

Is Colonel Mustafa and Prezzo having a beef? That’s an interesting question to start with given that it seems to be more of a media creation.

The one time that Mustafa and Prezzo were rumored to be tearing each other apart, Huddah Monroe was reported to be the cause of their antagonism.

But why are the two having a beef now? Well, even Mustafa himself is equally puzzled that he has a squabble with his long time friend.

A local blog purported that Colonel Mustafa threw mud at CMB Prezzo dismissing him as a mere ‘wannabe’.

Mustafa has since denied ever insulting Prezzo. He says he doesn’t go around attacking his friends.

“I have woken up with disturbing news that i Moustapha has dismissed my long time friend and rapper prezzo as a wannabe. This is not Moustapha actual ways of doing things,i dont just go aroung attacking my friends. This is a misguided rumour. Prezzo like many other artist has the potential to be huge and go past the superstar that he is today. To my fans, I am forever grateful for your confidence in my music and vision. I learned so much about what is really important in this industry from you, and am grateful for our continued friendship,” Colonel Mustafa said.

Top 5 Comedians Who Joined Radio And Made It Big…No.3 Is A Lady Who Has Defied All Odds

Today radio remains the media channel with the most reach the world over. Almost every household owns a radio and this makes it easier to reach to every soul for communication. With the invention of gadgets with in-built radios, it is even easier to communicate to a wider audience than any other channel of communication.

But these days radio is not radio without a comedian behind. This is evident in the manner in which every radio station is on the run to have one or more comedians in their daily programs because they want to gain that very important traction and beat competition from their competitors.

And as radios are on the run to meet this basic yet important requirement, we delve into the top 5 comedians who have joined radio and perfectly fitted, making it even better and sweeter to listen to.

Churchill – Classic 105 as Mwalimu King’angi

churchill

Churchill is known in every corner of the republic as one of the finest comedians who has given others a platform to learn from and built their careers. Having grown up as Kryptomaniacs’s protégé, Churchill learnt a lot from veterans Nyambane and his company, and perhaps this explains why he started his own Churchill show where other comedians entertain audiences every Sunday on NTV.

His prowess as comedian saw him land a job with Classic 105 as a co-host to the ever effective Maina Kageni and has never disappointed in his every morning jokes. Sometimes Churchill does it to an extent that we feel he is meant for radio and not hic comedy on TV. Churchill is arguably the best comedian Kenya has ever produced. Eric Omondi and company know this too well.

Jalang’o – Radio Maisha

jalango

He is turning 32 today and before we say anything about him, let us say a HBD message to the man from Siaya.

Well, at 32, Jalang’o sounds younger and younger on radio, the same way he looks on screen. A comedian who first came to the limelight when he teamed up with his partners in crime Otoyo and Wilbroda on the famous Papa Shirandula show on Citizen TV, Jalang’o turned out to be among the top comedians and thespians in Kenya to date. He wowed the audiences with his skill and this landed him a job with Kiss 100.

It was here that he excelled so well that he would later move to Radio Maisha where he has continued to do exceptionally well. His show with Alex Mwakideu gives him an edge over some comedians and puts him on par with celebrated thespians on the land. Jalang’o is a good comedian on radio.

Wilbroda – Radio Citizen

wilbroda

Famously known as Shirandula’s husband, Wilbroda is arguably the only female comedian and actress standing today as the most successful in this industry. She has been ever there in the social satirical show Papa shirandula where she plays a crucial role.

Even though the likes of Jalas and Otoyo who complemented her so well have since quitted the show, Wilbroda is strong and forging forward.

On Radio Citizen she is even better. She excels alongside Fancis Luchivia and Mwala and their morning show, Jambo Kenya, on radio citizen tells it all. She is an iron lady and a force to reckon with. Her prowess has seen her dine with the mighty.

Cleophas Awinja – Milele FM

awinja

Also famously known for his role as Otoyo in Papa Shirandula, Awinja curved a niche for himself and sold out a wonderful name to the masses as one of the finest entertainers in Kenya today.

Since his days at Papa Shirandula and Q FM, Awinja has been effective and entertaining. He always complemented his co-host Massawe Jappani at Q FM and when the latter moved to Milele FM, many thought we couldn’t hear the pair together again.

But Otoyo followed the way and joined Milele where he has continued to excel very well. He is entertaining and funny.

MC Jessy – Hot 96

jessy

He is very well known because of his synonymy with the Churchill Raw and Show. On this platform, he has been known to do very well and attract a sizeable following.

His time at Hot 96 has not gone to drains either. He is entertaining and funny as ever. MC Jessy perfectly fits radio and this is his place.

Identifying, nurturing and developing talents in our people is a community responsibility whose success can only be achieved in unity. By combining the cultures of the two countries, we all stand at an advantage to bring out the very rich potentials that define us as Africans. As we promote talents among us, we also are remotely promoting Africa as ambassadors in Diaspora being the first point of contact with our host communities; this is a diplomatic expression. When we appreciate these potentials it is a call placing them to a place of responsibility, working harder, aiming higher, do better as role models. Exclusive: Papa Dennis Searching For 200 Beauties For His New Project

Gospel wonder kid, Papa Dennis, is set to hit headlines with his new project. The flamboyant singer is in search of 200 hotties to feature in his video.

Sporadic xenophobic killings in South Africa made Papa Dennis ax his earlier plan of shooting his video there.

The gospel star has since decided to have the video shot in Kenya. More interesting, Papa Dennis is also flying in Africa’s most sought after producer, Godfather.

He’s undoubtedly Africa’s number one video producer and the evidence is all over. Looking at all the top videos in the continent, from Diamond’s to Jaguar’s to Davido’s to Mafikizolo’s, there’s only one name that resonates with all of them. That’s Godfather.

Back to the 200 beautiful ladies; if you think you have a face worth people staring at, inbox Papa Dennis on his official Facebook page or his manager and mentor Sadat Muhindi, that’s if you want to appear in his video.

Who Knew Maina Kageni Had Such An Interesting Secret?

Maina Kageni has been rocking our airwaves for a while now, working at some of the biggest media stations including KTN and Nation F.M. But despite the fact he has been in our airwaves for the longest time, Maina has remained a very private person.

But his past is pretty interesting .Such as the fact that he didn’t go to college.
And the story is pretty fascinating; apparently he flew out of the country to pursue a degree. But he did not register for school and instead opted to become a truck driver and fish distributor. Yes Maina was skillful in these biashara things even back in the day.

When the graduation day came, his mother was shocked and dismayed to learn that the Classic 105 presenter had not graduated as his name was on the list and she told him not to come back to Nairobi. But coming back he did, and as they say, the rest is history as Maina enjoys a successful show, a life of opulence filled with the finer things in life and holidays we can only dream of.

As you can see education is not always the key to success, but stay in school boys and girls, Maina is among the very extremely fortunate few who have made it without an education.

Flamboyant rapper has come out to shed light on the controversy facing him. This is after his photos with an unknown woman emerged online last week igniting a hot grapevine that he secretly tied the knot with the said lady.

Capital FM’s Amina Describes Her Moment Of Ecstasy With Her Man

Sultry Capital FM presenter, Amina, has pulled a Nicki Minaj. For the first time, she decided make use of her untapped beauty to make Team Mafisi’s tongues run dry.

She is arguably the hottest presenter on radio today, her voice is equally titillating. The beautiful Amina has curved a niche for herself on radio that’s why she is probably tasting new waters.

Celebrities React To Mohamed Ali And John Allan Namu Expose On Lead Poisoning On Poor Villagers In Mombasa

Yesterday the country and indeed the whole world was shocked by one of the most revealing and shocking exposes done by KTN’s dynamic duo: Mohamed Ali and John Allan Namu.

The expose showed how Metal Refinery EPZ factory, an Indian-owned metal refining factory recklessly poisoned residents of Owino Uhuru village in Mikindani by releasing lead metal through smoke and fumes without giving into consideration their health and well being.

Until the revelation, many had died, miscarriages experienced and others are still staring at death thanks to the poisoning they have gotten from the industry.

Even after the industry was closed down in 2014, it is crystal clear that the owners and indeed the government agencies like Nema did it recklessly and carelessly.

This has greatly angered a majority of Kenyans who are now demanding immediate actions on the perpetrators of these heinous and inhumane acts.

Celebrities have also aired their views and here is a sample of some of the reactions they gave:

Socialite Huddah Monroe said:

huddahthebosschick Good morning Kenya. I woke up like this…… We live in this country and continent where the poor don’t get justice at all…. I was totally saddened by the story last night on KTN about LEAD poisoning on kids esp, Reasons I don’t like watching local TV. We see soooo much yet so little can be done!! I’d rather stay blind to some things coz I see humans but I don’t see any humanity in this country and as an individual there’s nothing much I can also do!!!!

Kenya Got Talent: This Is What 4 Kenyan Sisters Did In The US And Which Is Breaking The Internet

You know the Moipei Sisters? Well, if not, relax, I am here to let you know who they are. You remember when President Uhuru Kenyatta was being inaugurated as the fourth President of the Republic of Kenya? These are the sisters who wowed the audience at the Kasarani stadium with their wonderful performance during the inauguration ceremony.

Since then, the four sisters have been going from strength to strength, curving out a niche for themselves and telling the world that they indeed exist.

Late last week they announced on their facebook page that they would be performing the US National Anthem at an NBA match between San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, a match that would later be attended by thousands of supporters as the NBA series draws closer to its conclusion.

moipei1

On Sunday, one of our biggest dreams will come true. We will be singing the American anthem for the San Antonio Spurs vs. LA Clippers 4th playoff game. Truly, “no matter where you come from, your dreams are valid.” To God be the Glory.

And true to their word, the Moipei sisters never disappointed. As they took to the pitch to perform, nobody anticipated what followed. Their voices and composure told it all as they wowed the crowd with a wonderful performance of the US national anthem, leaving ululations and rounds and rounds of applause from a stunned crowd.

The Moipei Sisters is a group of four sisters, triplets and one sister. They are Mary, Magdalene and Martha and their younger sister Seraphine.

They are currently in the US where they are studying at the St. Mary’s University.

Romantic Kenyan Men: Guy Proposes To Fiancee At Imax (photos)

Kenyan are not bad up the chivalry level after all. It was a glorious moment for one Hannah when her man, Raymond, proposed to her during the official premiere of the movie ” Fast and furious  seven” a fortnight ago.

The couple had joined hundred others who had come to watch the much awaited movie premiere  at the Imax. Unbeknownst to the lucky lady, the husband had planned to propose to her during a movie break.

Imax offered a statement later on:

“They say that a man without a wife is like a vase without flowers…Well, Raymond realized this secret and proposed to his beloved on 11th April at the IMAX Kenya theatre. It was a beautiful surprise for gorgeous Hannah as she beheld her lover’s proposal in the midst of the Fast and Furious 7 film that had full capacity audience, including family and close friends.
The after party thereafter took place in our ARFA Lounge. For all those chaps looking out to a romantic proposal for their lovers, IMAX is undeniably one of the most romantic ways you can pop the question without fear of rejection. True love stories never have endings and from the IMAX Kenya fraternity we wish Raymond and Hannah a happily ever after!!!”

Below are photos of how it went down:

KTN Receives Standing Ovation From Kenyans

Last night, all eyes were glued on KTN, the station was airing yet another captivating exposé that has made the whole country talking.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram you name it, KTN is currently the hottest topic on social networking platforms.

Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu have set a trend with their investigative; Plague For Profit and Futari Ya Sumu.

The exposé sheds light on the plight of poverty-stricken villagers of Owino Uhuru who are suffering from lead poisoning.

An Indian company, Metro Refining, is responsible for the pickle the villagers are in. The company was recklessly disposing lead which resulted to the misery being witnessed at Owino Uhuru village.

Kenyans have since flooded the social media with comments after watching the heartbreaking exposé. Moha and Namu have been overwhelmingly praised for the eye-opener.

5 Days to ‘Save a Girl Festival’ Here’s How You Can be Part of It

Courtesy of Pink Gal Foundation, next weekend we will have Save a Girl Festival that shall be held at City Cabanas.

The event is held for the sake of underprivileged children, the last year one had a total of 70 kids from three different orphanages who managed to attend the event.

The guests who were present were;

  • King of rap Collo
  • Socialite Risper Faith
  • (Samburu rappers-Zizza Siampa and Demalee Dantez.)

Pink Gal Foundation seeks to ;

  • Mobilizes financial and human resources and channels them directly to girls who are economically deprived and at a risk of harmful cultural practices in countries of instability.
  • The future of Pink Gal is to empower and retain girls in school to attain quality education with support of whole communities. Quality education in a violent free, supportive and conducive environment in the home, school and community builds their career aspirations leading them to walk in the fullness of their potential as women leaders.

Pink Gal Foundation was founded by 16 year old Michelle Kariuki daughter to the multimillionaire Joe Kariuki who is UK based and currently in Form 6 studying Psychology/Health and Social Care. Her interest is in helping out vulnerable females because she believes teenagers receive a lot of pressure to look a certain way and act a certain way. However, she would like females to know that they are beautiful inside and out. Teenage girls find it hard to speak out to their carers, so she came up with the ‘universal girl talk’ which is a mingle section inside Pink Gal Foundation so that they are able to speak out their thoughts without feeling uncomfortable.

Last time Michelle didn’t manage to travel for the occasion so her dad took control of everything and it was perfect, this time around, she will be present..

The children will be showcasing their talents and get a chance to mingle freely with all the invited guests not forgetting the guest artists.

The event will be happening on the 2nd of May, 2015, from 10am to 7pm. Entry is free.

Disgusting: If You Are A Man, You Should Never Wear This!

Just because everyone is wearing it doesn’t make it fashionable. You probably copied that look form the series “Empire” but instead of looking like an emperor, Wearing  sweatpants out there makes you look like a sissy. You know, men who wear sweatpants probably love their martinis mixed. Real men, love the martini shaken!

Sweatpants initially started as athletic wear and have gained popularity after being on major runways in 2014. Majority of fashion conscious people actually adopted a “bettered” version of sweat pants as viable street wear. But it doesn’t matter who wears them, they are still sweat pants.

It doesn’t matter whether your sweatpants are the $100 Nike Tech Fleece coveted by the masses or the $6 Fruit of the Loom worn by the masses, sweatpants, by virtue of their aesthetic, construction, and intended use, are not to be worn to the streets- Kenyan streets to be precise.

Barron Cuadro, creator of men’s lifestyle blog Effortless Gent agrees, “regardless of how well-fitting they are, they’re still sweatpants.”
Unless you work at the gym, then you should probably forget sweat pants.

The trend picked in Kenya and every little kid out there is wearing sweat pants. It doesn’t matter whether you wear them over a pair of Jordans or bathroom slippers, Sweat pants are ugly and should be worn to the gym or sports, they bring unwanted attention to your crotch, -your crotch is hideous if you display it in public.

Here are some of the most despicable Sweat pant fails ever.

GHAFLA EXPLORES: How Thirsty Ugandan Men Ruined All My Chances Of Getting Laid In Kampala

A few weeks ago, I was in a resort in Kampala Uganda, a place that was supposed to give me a refreshing break from Nairobi and its women. I booked a two day trip for business purposes because I still bear the dreams of holding wealth portfolios that equate to those of Dangote and Ellon Musk. The back, center and front of my mind was filled with the idea of banging slutty Ugandan girls.

The environment of Kampala for banging, it turned out, was the worst I’ve seen. The negatives were real, they were serious and they were many. They included:

— Complete inaccessibility of young Kampala girls. They were continually guarded by men or family members.

Girls like sex but the sex comes with conditions. There is little casual sex or dating. Instead of one-night stands you have six-month stands, where you commit before fornicating.

— Nuclear bomb of horny Ugandan men who approach any girl regardless of age and beauty.

— Loud, cheesy nightlife with 4 guys for every 1 girl.

Even worse is that I went solo. On the handful of interactions I made progress on, I couldn’t isolate in the end. Rolling solo in a regular city isn’t so bad, but in a foreign locale it was the death knell. In the end I couldn’t wait to return to the relative poosy paradise of Nairobi.

There were a lot of negatives in that trip, but the positive was being able to witness how Ugandan men work in groups to get laid. They attack like Real Madrid and defend like Chelsea  hat means no other human has a chance. I must say that besides being mostly disgusted, i was duly impressed with their level of thirst, wingmanship and coordination..

1. They go out in groups of at least three, with defined roles for each member

One guy is the “translator,” meaning he has the best English (compared to the bad kisungu of other Ugandan men) and facilitates conversation with foreign women. Another is the “lead clown” with the best energy and dance skills. And yet another is the “bouncer” who keeps an eye on outsider men and informs the group of any possible intruders. Instead of all the guys in the group running game independently without accounting for what their wings are doing, Ugandan men maximize their individual strengths to ensure group success. There is no lone wolf game—it’s a team effort.

2. Approach targets simultaneously with overwhelming power

There’s not much subtlety about the Ugandan approach. They all go in simultaneously to announce to the women that they have arrived and are definitely in pursuit. They begin smiling, touching, and joking almost immediately, usually with a plan to get the girls dancing as quickly as possible. Their initial game is heavily based on the physical.

3. Keep targets primarily entertained with dancing

Long chats in the club are not what Ugandan men prefer. While they are actually able to run this type of game, their go-to weapon at night is the dance floor. Many of them dance surprisingly well, practicing for years as teenagers to the music of Chameleone and Bebe Cool until making the switch to more mainstream house and hip hop. Since women are in the club to primarily dance, their strategy yields results.

4. Immediately engage and neutralize any threat

Ugandan men keep an eye on other men just as much as the women. They fully understand that any fish they catch must be kept clear from the hooks of other fishermen. One thing they do is position themselves around women they are talking to in a way that completely blocks any other man who may want to try an approach.

le thirst2

If a man does penetrate through their defenses, they immediately re-group to eject him, either by distracting him (with the same energy they use on the girls), or getting the bouncer of the group to deliver a not-so-subtle admonishment of “these girls are with us.” It’s extremely effective since it doesn’t rely on the kindness of women to be cold to interloping men.

I’m in full agreement with their strategy here: if you’re just starting a conversation with a chic in a club, you must immediately shut down any attempts by strange men, even if it makes you look needy. Only when a girl’s attraction for you is solid can you be more aloof.

5. Make all girls in the group feel like princesses, no matter how ugly

There’s taking one for the team, and then there’s the Ugandan version of it. I have seen good looking Kampala men wing their brothers with horrendous women that look like a crossbreed between Oliver Mtukudzi and Chief Keef.

Kampala men take bros before hoes to a level I haven’t seen, and as long as one girl in a group is pretty, all the men will give it their all on each of her friends. It gets to the point where if the hottest girl wants to leave, the ugly ones will convince her to stay because they are being pursued so vigorously by men who are much more handsome than they are pretty.

6. Supply drinks without going nuts

Ugandan men aren’t so needy that they are buying drinks all night long, but they definitely do try to lock down girls with a strategic purchase of a bottle of liquor. Their funds are lower than that of Kenyan men, so they have to pool their money to keep the party going, which is why you tend to see them in packs. It’s another example of working in groups to minimize individual weakness.

7. No doesn’t mean no

They don’t accept the first no that a girl gives them, even if it’s absolutely certain to an outside observer that that no won’t be changed. This feature of their game, more than anything else, has given them a bad reputation as hyper-persistent, and even I don’t see its effectiveness.

While persisting past a no late in the game when you’re close to sex is important, Ugandan men ignore no’s that come right upon the approach, and once in a set with a girl, they will not leave unless the girl pushes him away or ignores him completely. This can be painful to watch, and even worse is that you know the girl will be much less receptive if you approach her afterwards because the dude put her in a more sour mood.

8. Victory is had if only one man of the group gets laid

Their goal isn’t necessarily for all men of the group to get laid—it’s just for one member to score. If he is successful, on the next night he’s going to sacrifice several hours with the ugliest beast in the bar so that his boy can get laid. They have a complete selflessness that I haven’t seen in other men, all because they see getting laid as a long-term team effort instead of a short-term individual sport. The sacrifice they make for their fellow man is admirable.

Watching groups of Ugandan men in a club is like witnessing a coordinated ditional tradance. If you’re solo in a club with a lot of Ugandan men, you should consider leaving. That’s what I did after making enough observations to come up with an article. The synergy they bring forth makes it hard to compete and they greatly increase the bitch shield of women they fail with. The only problem with adopting Ugandan game is that it clashes with a Kenyan man’s individualistic values. We’re too selfish to sacrifice entire nights for friends

Ugandan men get a bad reputation , but they do some things that are worth emulating when operating in a club with friends. Nonetheless, let’s count our blessings that we are not in Uganda and have to rely solely on group effort and extreme hard work to get laid.

“I Know Ladies Who Have Slept Their Way To The Top” KTN’s Lois Hannigan

Getting to the top is hard, it can be especially hard for a woman especially if you have no ‘connections’ and have to start from the bottom with Team Mafisi waiting at every stage.

Maybe that is why some women prefer the horizontal way up, that is sleeping to get ahead in life. I judge not to each his own…

Lois Hannigan whom you know from YOLO on KTN speaks about this phenomenon that has become rampant in the world over.

Find out what she had to say about it below:

After Listening To What Suzanna Owiyo Has Done You Will Definitely Regret Being Tribalistic

Suzanna Owiyo has been one of the finest local singers in the country ever since she hit the airwaves with a perfect song, Kisumu dala, several years ago.

Despite making her debut with a song done in Luo language, she made herself a household name with fine tunes and the love for guitar. She proved herself an iron lady and has since remained so, winning several ambassadorial deals that have seen her travel and meet eminent and prominent persons across the globe.

It was early this year that Suzanna once again announced her status as one of the finest local songbirds with her track Wamiel which was received so well by Kenyans and the Kenyan media in general.

Here, Suzanna wanted all of us to dance our ribs out. Well, we did dance.

But it seems the diva has realized that dancing while we harbor tribal tendencies and ethnic traits is nothing but narcissism. Kenyans are known to be suffering from tribalism and ethnicity, things which have seen hatred and partisan activities take toll of us, dividing us like we are great enemies.

suzaa

Photo: Recording of the Sio Kosa Langu audio

Perhaps this is what has motivated Suzanna to cry for the nation, urging Kenyans that it is not their choice to be who they are but God’s choice.

In her latest song, Sio Kosa Langu, which Ghafla had promised to bring to you immediately it is out, Suzanna is concerned that we are tribalistic and ethnically oriented and laments that this has jeopardized every effort to co-exist as a nation and one people.

Suzanna’s song comes at the right time when not only Kenya but Africa as a whole is in turmoil over tribalism, ethnicity and xenophobia.

Here is the song that is likely to touch quite a soul:

Kenyans Are Not Done With Prophet Kanyari Yet! Another Video Released in His Favor

Born and raised in Nairobi, Stanje Mgenge moved to Australia in 2013 to pursue further studies. Staying true to his passion, Stanje ventured into music. He has just released his song ‘Blank Space’ remix that features Taylor Swift the song is Gospel-ish…though he’s not a gospel singer per say. But who said you have to be a gospel artiste to give thanx to the Lord?? He may not be a gospel artiste, but Stanje does believe in the Lord and that’s all that matters if you ask me.

In the song, Stanje thanks Him for the far He has brought him, through the rough journey that has been his life, he’s a better person now than where he was and that’s all thanx to God. He actually bares all the ups and downs he has undergone thus far.

The song was recorded and mixed by WOLALI who owns Black Empire Studios. Wolali is born West Africa (Togo) though he’s now settled in Australia since 2008. He is well known for his Media Production company called ‘Black Empire Studios’ and also happens to be a talented artiste. Wolali is the perfect example of a Jack of All Trades, his artistic ways cuts across; Painting, Designing, Composing, Song Writer, Sound Engineer and Filmmaker. With his roots at heart, Wolali gives back to people from African Community living in Australia through the Adelaide Community. His real name is Fofo Folly.

Aside from songs, Stanje has also been featured in a short film titled Left Out, in which he played one of the lead roles. Though in Australia, Stanje stays true to his home country, giving respect to Nonini and Juacali for their songs while labeling the rest of Kenya artistes as ‘noisemakers’. Not forgetting Rabbit has been and always will be his favorite artiste and role model when it comes to music. He actually dedicates a whole line to him, whispering a prayer for his sickened mother, information he picked up from Kaka Sungura’s song ‘Kafiri’. And without fail, fake pastor Kanyari was mentioned.

Unlike the usual norms we see from Kenya’s who leave the country even for a weekend and come back with an accent, Stanje hasn’t lost his Kiswahili touch! 2yrs later, the man still speaks well Swahili and Sheng. Dear fake people, please learn a thing or two.

Enough of my banter, check out the unofficial video, enjoy and make sure to share it.

Mzazi Willy M Tuva Set To Honour Fallen Q FM Presenter, Rhyno TK. This Is What He Is Planning To Do

The country woke up to very sickening news of the untimely demise of Q FM presenter Rhyno TK on Saturday morning after being involved in a grisly road accident along Mombasa Road.

Upon his death, Rhyno was a celebrated presenter with Q FM evening show and many who had spent quality time on the days leading to his death are still in denial and shocked over the untimely demise.

Among them is Citizen Radio’s Mzazi Willy M Tuva who has shared a photo of himself with Rhyno.

Mzazi has revealed that his show, Mseto East Africa, will be honouring Rhyno for the whole week. How is he going to do that?

He said:

rhyno

msetoea All MSETO Events This Week Will Observe a Moment of Silence to Our Departed Brother RHYNO.

H_art The Band Reveals How Scary Love Can Be In New Video

“When you love someone, truly love them, you lay your heart open to them. You give them a part of yourself that you give to no one else, and you let them inside a part of you that only they can hurt-you literally hand them the razor with a map of where to cut deepest and most painfully on your heart and soul.

And when they do strike, it’s crippling-like having your heart carved out.”
― Sherrilyn Kenyon

Maybe for this reason is why most people are deathly afraid of love, afraid of being vulnerable enough to get cut or in the case of H_Art the band ‘you love someone so much but you are never really too sure that they love you back in equal measure”

That’s the theme of their hot track Love Phobic whose video was dropped officially on Friday on the trend. The video captures all the feelings that love encompasses happiness, understanding, fear and even insecurity.

A theme most  of us if not all of us can relate to because we have been in love, and God knows there is nothing more unnerving, scarier yet pleasurable and thrilling like being in love!

Robert Alai Tears Down Sauti Sol For Their Nerea Song. This Is What He Said

Controversial blogger Robert Alai is a household name in Kenya today thanks to his controversial engagements especially on the social media where he does not shy away from rowing his boat the opposite directions, rubbing shoulders the wrong way with almost everybody.

Alai says what he feels suits him and controversy is his best meal.

Well, this time round, Alai is on Sauti Sol’s neck after the group of four hit the airwaves with a song called Nerea, a song discouraging abortion among ladies.

Alai has taken a dig at the group, saying it is only aiming at justifying their knowledge on abortion after terribly failing in their Nishike video.

The Nishike video was banned in Kenya after being considered unfit for audience consumption.

Alai tweeted:

alaiii

This latest dig at the group is likely to court more controversy.

Sauti Sol fans are already raging at this jibe and have shared a word with Alai. Here is what some said:

On Saturday morning, we woke up to the heartrending news that the youthful baritone-voiced presenter Q F.M had passed away in a tragic road accident.

It seemed so surreal and I personally didn’t want to believe it until Mzazi Tuva announced it and we all knew our worst fears had been confirmed.

He was gone, at such a tender age with so much to look forward to, but only God knows why he went away.

Ever since the news of the car crash broke, the internet has been flooded with words by grieving fans, friends and colleagues as well as photos of the incident’s aftermath. Here are some photos of the  depressing scene where he met his heartbreaking end:
