Yet another player is set to enter the Kenyan hospitality industry this coming July. They are referred to as Tune hotel and they are coming with a different proposition which is set to disrupt the whole market.

Hatemonger politicians have been taken to court today early morning even before judges wake up from night slumber.

It seems police wanted to move them to Milimani court before their supporters wake up and cause a scene while they were being transported.

The ‘rogue’ politicians have an uphill court battle to convince the judges to set them free; they spent four days in police custody after they were arrested for hate speech.

The politicians arrived at Milimani courthouse a few minutes past six. They have hours to wait until the hearing of their case commences.

You haven’t made it until you come to Kenya, hold a massive concert and Kenyans accept you, that’s a saying us peeps from Ghafla created some time back. Why? Because Kenyans are the most difficult people to please and when that actually that does happen, it’s only short lived.

So I can understand the constant stream of international celebrities coming through now and then, I bet they are trying to seek acceptance and validation because let’s be honest, when that happens, then you have made it! (Yet another Ghafla proverb).

Just last week the likes of 2Baba aka 2 face Idibia, Vanessa Mdee were here for the Disruption concert which was totally lit and before we could even settle on that, here we have Nigeria’s patoranking and South Africa’s finest DJ Maphorisa lined up for another mind blowing performance. That has been confirmed as the meet and greet happened last night. 

Now just like the way these celebrities coming to Kenya for all love and hype they get, I have also noticed they also more often than not frequent one nightspot in Nairobi, Kiza lounge located on the rooftop of Galana plaza.

Now this is proving to be the one stop spot for every high profile celebrity that comes through to Nairobi. 2 Baba and his entourage were there last week and now Patoranking is expected to be heading down there tomorrow night.

I have been doing a bit of digging and the vibe I’m getting is that the place is one hell of a lounge. First of all the décor and ambience I hear is top notch making you feel relaxed and at ease and when this is coupled up with their VIP treatment, then you are totally gone.

And not only is it a hub for celebrities but also politicians and high profile business people. You can always catch them nibbling on their Cuban cigars surrounded by a bevy of fine light skin lasses.

Actually enough with the speculation, I will be making my way to the concert tomorrow night and be sure to catch up with all the 411 on Monday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta left for Angola some four days ago before he flew to Brussels, Belgium for an official visit.

While the commander in chief is in Europe for state business, his son Muhoho Kenyatta opened the gates of State House for a number of local celebrities.

Yesterday Muhoho had a date with Teen Republik presenter Tracy Wanjiru, Willy Paul, DJ Euphorique, Abel Mutua, Phil Karanja among others.

Willy Paul says the purpose of their visit to State House was to share ideas.

“Hanging out with the respected, at the main house ( state house ). The Presidents son MO… It is was good sharing ideas.. Gods speed ….” Wrote Willy Paul.

Frustrated MPs’ wives have been storming Pangani Police Station in hope of getting their honorable husbands out, or at least to see them in their cells!

Pangani Six; Johnson Muthama (Machakos Senator), Junet Mohammed (MP Suna East), Timothy Bosire (MP Kitutu Masaba), Moses Kuria (MP Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (MP Kabete) and Kimani Ngunjiri (MP Bahati), were arrested on Tuesday for utterances that threatened national cohesion and integration.

The Pangani Six have spent four days at Pangani Police Station after various attempts to get them out failed.

Cord Leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have stormed the police station more than once in a bid to free their foot soldiers but their attempts haven’t yielded anything so for.

The wives of these MPs have also visited Pangani Police Station to get back their husbands but police have refused to bulge.

The wife of Johnston Muthama, Jemima Muthama, made Mafisi became interested with the unfolding story revolving around the Pangani Six.

Junet Mohammed’s wife, Faiza Junet, and Waititu’s wife have also been spotted at Pangani Police Station.

Nigerian superstar Flavour may be a top love ballads singer but this does not mean he truly believes in happily ever after.

The singer just dropped the bombshell in an interview where he revealed that he is not looking forward to have a weeding or marriage in future. This is despite him having a long time girlfriend who has his child. The decision by the singer led to his girlfriend Anner Banner to walk out of the relationship bringing it to an end.

Flavour while talking to Nigerian Hip TV is quoted saying no successful musician has a good home and thus one cannot have both. On her part, Anna revealed in a separate interview that she had walked out of the relationship saying  ‘We are no longer together. I made this decision recently. I spoke to myself and decided it was time to move on and focus on my future and career.  I fell in love and got pregnant unexpectedly for the man I loved. I have never been pregnant before and that’s why I decided to keep my baby no matter what.”

She said she was disappointed that the Flavour was not willing to bring their daughter in a family set up.

Diamond Platinumz success has got him to such a level that any progress musically or on his own person will require something out of his normal tradition.

Prior to his death, a poor and sickly Mzee Ojwang begged KBC and the government to save him from pangs of poverty.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko rushed to his rescue and took him to the hospital, but unfortunately it was game over for Mzee Ojwang in our dear world.

Another veteran KBC actor, 82-year-old Suleiman Mwaronga, is in the same predicament as Mzee Ojwang prior to his death.

Suleiman was a popular face on ‘Tausi’ where he played a character called ‘Baba Mkubwa’. Tausi was a popular show on TV in those ages when KBC was everything as far as TV was concerned.

Baba Mkubwa is languishing in penury in Mtongwe, Mombasa. His health condition is also wanting as he’s barely struggling to survive.

Colonel Mustapha has in several platforms proved that he has struggled to move on from his break up with Marya.

For a long time he has been the one who has provided updates on what led to the relationship’s surprising end. Just like his music career and love life, his story has lacked consistency first starting with the claims that the two broke up over religious differences and later recently accused Marya of being loose sleeping around even with gospel musicians.

Now Marya has spoken up revealing details that had never been made public. Having been silent on the issue for long, she spoke up following Mustapha’s recent claims. Speaking on phone with Niaje.com, Marya said Mustapha was prone to physically abusing her.

She said he would hit and strangle her, while she would resort to using her heels to fend him off only for Mustapha to hit her heavily and then lock her in. This is what led her to walk off the relationship. She ended asking Mustapha to keep on talking for cheap publicity but he knows the truth.

We are barely into 2017 and trouble is already brewing in our country. Politicians are already misbehaving, altering all sorts of alarming things and igniting all these hateful feelings within Kenyans.

Just the other day, one politician Moses Kuria made some scathing statements and the citizenry has gone haywire. In Kibera for example, temperatures are soaring high and skirmishes erupted yesterday. The results are already grotesque with one woman having lost her life in the process.

Which begs the question, what is going on with Kenyans? Don’t they ever learn? Can’t they just love each other? Why do they always fall prey to this hood rats that have little or no regard for them?

In the back of your mind, do you think Moses Kuria really cares if you burn your neighbours house who apparently sells you milk at the nearby shop and feeds your children when you come a bit late from work? Do you think Muthama’s children who are probably confined in some posh estate with a heavy security detail and high walls planning on where to fly to on holiday during election period understand the frustrations you go through every day?

Let’s be honest to ourselves, it’s obvious they don’t. So do the right thing and exercise some decorum, take control of your life for heaven’s sake! Don’t participate in burning in this country down. Stand up and say no to this bigotry. I don’t know where you will draw the inspiration.Europe perhaps where politicians are public servants out to do public good and not enrich themselves? Or maybe Coca Cola’s Taste the Feeling which is all about togetherness, sharing and loving your neighbor?

I don’t have an answer but I know I will do something. I won’t just sit here and watch a country I have worked so hard to build crumble, a country that has so much potential and friends who I have sacrificed so much to be with.

Agnes Wacera Macharia was struggling to pay loans which she took to buy her matatu which burnt in Kayole during anti-IEBC demonstrations.

Njogu wa Njoroge yesterday mobilized listeners on Kameme FM to raise cash for Ms Agnes Macharia whose minibus was burnt during anti-IEBC demonstrations on June 6^th in Kayole.

A quarter a million was raised in 20 minutes. By close of business Tuesday, a record Kes 2 million had been raised.

Njogu had highlighted Ms Macharia’s misery after her matatu got burnt. Listeners were moved by revelations that the woman was struggling to repay a loan she took to buy the matatu.

The Kameme FM presenter hopes to raise a total of Kes 5 million for Ms Macharia so that she could buy a brand new matatu complete with insurance cover.

Jubilee MPs are said to have contributed Kes 1 million to Njogu’s fundraising drive. Meanwhile Ms Macharia had moved to court seeking to have CORD leaders; Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, ordered to pay for the damages she incurred during anti-IEBC demos.

At times Moses Kuria seems like a man on a mission to prove beyond any doubt that he should not be an elected leader.

His actions and outbursts shame even those he defends with such gusto. He outdoes even acts like Duale and Waititu’s and is the unrivaled prince of anything in bad taste. Only Moses Kuria can outdo himself and with every action he hits a new low.

A perfect example is when he was arraigned in court along with Waititu and others for their utterances and he felt it appropriate to flash the middle finger to a section of those in attendance.

After tarmacking for a while, Joey Muthengi landed a job with Royal Media as a radio presenter on Hot 96.

From hosting ‘Sugar and Spice’ on Ebru TV to being a radio presenter, that was a step backwards in the eyes of many.

But a promotion back to glory was on the way for Joey Muthengi, and it came in the form of Anne Kiguta’s pregnancy.

Anne left for maternity leave and her position had to be filled. The recent restructuring on Citizen TV is thought to have been caused by Anne’s maternity leave.

Cheche show moderator Uduak Amimo was chosen to replace Anne Kiguta on prime time news as Kirigo Ng’arua was taken off Power Breakfast to a permanent position on Lunchtime news.

Kirigo’s post on Power Breakfast was filled by Joey Muthengi and another new addition, Fred Indimuli. Now Power Breakfast has three presenters in total; the mischievous Willis Raburu, Joey Muthengi and Fred Indimuli.

When he quit his job at Citizen TV, Alex Chamwada’s career seemed to be fading in a dark future but he surfaced as an independent content developer for KTN. The man who inspired him to glory has since passed on.

Kenyans have been sending condolences following the sudden demise of Kariithi Murimi, one of the most respected economists Kenya has ever had. Kariithi regularly appeared on TV to discuss matters economy.

The deceased was once a chairman of National Social Security Fund (NSSF) plus was an astute business person with vast business interests.

Kariithi passed on last evening, the cause of his death is yet to be established. Alex Chamwada mourned the deceased revealing the pivotal role he played in his career as an independent journalist.

“After quitting employment, I remember economic analyst Kariithi Murimi giving me tips on consultancy. He is among my mentors who inspired me into independent content production and told me that my greatest resource was not money but networks and experience. He told me, “be bold and go out there to give us exclusive, informative and unmatched content; content that transforms lives.” I will always remember his input in my shows ‪ ‘The Chamwada Report’ and ‪‘Daring Abroad’. And he has been watching them religiously, always giving me valuable feedback. We at CHAMS Media Productions will miss his contribution. May he RIP” Chamwada eulogized Kariithi.

Chaos erupted in Kibera after news broke that Cord politicians had been arrested by the police. A woman was set on fire in Kibera and she was burnt to death!

Six Jubilee and Cord politicians were yesterday arrested and summoned by the police over hate speech and incitement

Jubilee’s Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete) and Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) and Cord’s Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba) and Aisha Jumwa Katana (Kilifi Woman Representative) had a date with the police yesterday.

The arrest of Cord politicians sparked chaos in Kibera as rowdy youth took to the streets to demand the release of the politicians.

A woman was set ablaze during the chaotic demonstrations. There have been conflicting reports as to why the woman was torched.

Some sources on social media report that the woman was part of a gang that was cornered robbing an M-Pesa shop during the demonstrations.

Others claim she was burnt to shells because of her ethnicity as members of a certain tribe were being targeted during the demo.

Well, his name is Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru, only 28 years old and he can make your sponsor look like a joke. I mean, you should see the fleet of cars he has and which he’s not afraid to flaunt on a regular. But can you really blame him, he’s worked the trenches and he clearly deserves to enjoy the fruits of his labour.

She celebrated her 34^th birthday in style, in a way not so many people could afford to do on their birthdays!

Multimillionaire City businesswoman Millicent Omanga last Friday decided to spend her 34^th birthday in a special way.

After spending Kes 5 million on her 33^rd birthday bash which was held at the exclusive Capital Club, ‘Mama Unga’ as Millicent has come to be known by slum dwellers, decided to take her 34^th birthday bash to Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums.

Millicent who’s now leading contenders for the Women representative seat in Nairobi, made her way to her former school, Mukuru Kwa Njenga Primary school, where she had a date with slum dwellers.

For starters, Millicent triumphed over poverty in Mukuru Kwa Njenga Slums where she was raised, to build a multimillion shillings business empire.

She is the founder and Managing Director of Milways Enterprise, a multimillion business that deals in construction, import of furniture and electrical appliances and interior décor. Millie is also a non-executive director of electricity producing firm, Kengen.

The businesswoman last Friday decided to make her 34^th birthday about the less fortunate. Some 5000 slum dwellers benefited from Millicent’s charity works as she donated cooking oil, maize flour and sugar to slum residents at the Mukuru Kwa Njenga Primary School.

Each person was given at least 2kgs of maize flour, 2kgs of cooking oil, 2kgs of sugar and other household items.

“After last year’s birthday party, I made a decision to spend more time and resources with the people who need help most. I have come to realize that with giving I serve humanity better.”Millicent told residents.

She enlisted the services of gospel heavyweight               Willy Paul who thrilled Mukuru Kwa Njenga dwellers with his dopest gospel hit songs.

Millicent wants to be nominated Women Rep for Nairobi so that she could be at an apt position to help the less fortunate in Nairobi County. She believes she’s the best candidate who knows the needs of the people having being raised in Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums.

Royal Media Services affiliate Citizen TV has announced major editorial changes as the station positions itself ahead of the next year’s polls in a move that will see former news anchors and continuity show host make grand returns to the screen.

Popular trending Power Breakfast show will embrace new faces as the station ropes in former Kiss TV news presenter and one time Ebru TV’s Sugar and Spice show host Joy Muthengi to replace Kirigo Ng’arua who has since stamped her authority on Lunch time news.

Uduak Amimo,the Cheche show moderator and Hussein Mohammed will now sit in for Anne Kiguta who has taken her maternity leave. Uduak moved to the Dennis Pritt based television in 2012 after her successful stint at BBC. She has been lauded as one of the best political debate moderators and is highly expected to bring in her wealth of experience to the ever heated Opinion Court debates every Thursday. Hussein Mohammed moves to Sunday Live.

The station has also sought the services of Iran based long time Swahili Editor Salim Swaleh to beef up Nipashe Wikendi.Salim until last week was the special analyst on African News and editor at Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) affiliate, Press TV. He is expected to take over from the all time Citizen TV duo Lulu Hassan and Kanze Dena.

Citizen TV came under fierce criticism after sacking reporters Kendagor Obadiah and Eveline Wambui in what many viewed as inside politics.The two have since been replaced.

People are living big in this country… Imagine Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko gets dropped off by a helicopter at his doorstep! As in a chopper lands and he just makes two strides and he’s in his house.

Sonko loves being unique in whatever he does, be it service delivery to the electorates or his pimped cars and opulent houses, he has a knack for setting the bar high.

The Nairobi Senator has built a palatial house in his rural home in Mua Hills Machakos County. The house looks like some fancy holiday resort at the coast.

Sonko’s hacienda also has helipad where his chopper lands when he flies home. The helipad is just a few meters from his door.

Controversial SONU chairman has promised to launch a manhunt for Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria over his remarks.

Speaking at a Jubilee rally at Kasarani on Sunday, Moses Kuria implored the government to assassinate Raila Odinga.

SONU chair has since responded to Moses Kuria’s threat. Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Babu warned the Gatundu South MP from demeaning the Cord leader with his acidic tongue.

“Am passing a strong message to Moses Kuria that Raila Odinga is not your mother’s boyfriend…” Babu Owino stressed the point in his message.

Lots have been said about Betty Kyallo ever since news broke that she had separated with Dennis Okari. The KTN anchor has now sent a humble plea to the public.

Hii mtaa kuna manyoka! Immediately after word broke that Betty and Dennis were no longer an item, lots of fabricated news hit the headlines.

Betty was on the receiving end as critics tore her apart with all manner of outrageous stories one can possibly concoct.

It seems the KTN anchor has been listening to lots of Chris Brown’s song, especially his 2012 hit ‘Don’t Judge Me’.

Betty made a humble plea to the public to stop judging her saying they might know her name but not her story and not what she has been through.

“You know my name not my story. You’ve heard what I’ve done and not what I’ve been through. Don’t criticize or judge. Live your perfect life in peace.” Wrote Betty Kyallo.

On March 27 2007, popular female rapper Remy Ma (Reminisce Smith) was sentenced to 8 years in prison after a violent altercation which saw her friend get shot twice outside a New York nightspot.

Remy and her friend had been fighting over 2,000 dollars which Remy accused her friend of stealing the money from her.

8 years later, Remy is free and has joined the 6th Season of Love and Hip Hop (New York) and is also working to get her rap career back.

1.Majirani

Before we all knew him as the ‘Hivo Hivo Ndo Kunaendanga’ hit-maker, Majirani was a jailbird.

In 2011, Majirani decided to quit his degree in Criminology at the University of Nairobi, Eldoret Campus and chose to pursue music instead. But a calamity befell him after he quit school; he spent a whole year in jail.

Speaking to SDE in a past interview Majirani said “A week after quitting campus the worst happened. I was arrested by cops while on my way home from a gig.

I was locked in the cells where I had a brawl with one of the inmates who we had a misunderstanding. I wasn’t lucky enough as within no time I was remanded in Narok Prison without being granted an opportunity to defend myself or bailed out.”

2. John Kiriamiti

If you went to a Kenyan school, chances are that you read the riveting tales of the famous hardcore criminal John Kiriamiti who enjoyed a prolific criminal career in the 60s and 70s. His stunts and daring exploits were straight from a James Bond movie and were chronicled in 3 books with his story being told through the main character, Jack Zollo.

The books were written while he served time at the Kamiti and Naivasha maximum prisons for violent robbery.

A movie on Kiriamiti’s life is still in the works with Nigerian actor Jim Iyke , Ojiambo Ainea and Janet Kirina expected to star in the movie.

3. Blaqy

In 2014, Blaqy released what is possibly the most ratchet video in Kenyan history,’Money Maker.A video that showcased Risper Faith shaking her goodies in some rather unflattering positions.

About a year later, Blaqy’s name was put in the back-burner of entertainment .But life got worse as he was arrested for a hit-and-run accident that took place years ago and he spent 37 days in jail after he failed to raise bail.

Luckily, Nairobi senator Sonko bailed an emaciated Blaqy out and even offered to pay for Blaqy’s upcoming music video.

4. Nicholas Cheruiyot a.k.a King Kafu

After getting wrongly accused of stealing a camera in 2002 and spending 6 months in jail, King Kafu decided to resort to a life in crime. He started out as a petty thief snatching phones purses, jewellery and bags from people.

He later graduated in to a hardcore criminal and acquired a gun for carjacking and raiding fund-raisers. He soon got arrested for robbery with violence and spent one year in jail.

After spending a year in prison, he decided to turn his life around and start hustling the right way after watching his friends die like flies. His hustle led him to the doors of Ghetto Radio where he became a messenger.

He was later picked and trained as a radio presenter and he got to host the drive show before joining the morning breakfast show alongside Anita Rey and Maji Maji.

5. Rapcha the Sayantist

During one of his stints in Prison, King Kafu met comedian/radio presenter  Rapcha and they bonded.

This relationship formed in prison, helped Kafu launch his career as it is Rapcha who gave him his first platform at Ghetto Radio which secured him a job at Ghetto radio.
