This is the lady in the eye of the NYS scandal storm and the woman who could end the careers of prominent people given the details of her affidavit which has seen matters of the scandal revived. So, who is this lady that has captured a nation’s imagination? Here are 7 facts about Josephine Kaburu you should know;

1. Hair Dressing Is The Longest Profession She Has Served

Josephine Kaburu has only had three major jobs, one as a hair dresser, then a short stint at KDN as support staff and then her current as a businesswoman. In all these she has served as a hair dresser longest having started it immediately she left high school down in her village in Muranga and even when coming to Nairobi. 

2. She Is Still Young

Josephine Kaburu is only 33 years old yet has risen to quite an influential position, as the sole supplier of construction material for the NYS projects.

3. Never Had any formal training

As fate would have it, high school education is the furthest training Josephine ever got yet the same fate would see her as the director of three companies handling construction projects worth of millions.

4. Aside from the construction companies she has a major computer accessories sales shop

At the start of her construction contracting business, Josephine under the advice of Waiguru was asked to open a front business given the slow nature of payment processing in government businesses. She settled on a computer accessories shop

5. She met Waiguru long before she was Devolution minister

Josephine met Waiguru back in 2012 when she was shortly at KDN and the former CS still at IFMIS. They became friends and even at one time she was Waiguru’s hairdresser. 

6. Waiguru Gave her Substantial loans and Seed capital for her business

According to her affidavit, Waiguru loaned her 1 million shillings for her computer business and later seed money for her construction supplies business.

7. Her Three Companies Allegedly Received over 300 million shillings as payment

Josephine three companies all whose registration was facilitated by Waiguru according to Josephine Kaburu, received a total of 347.9 million. The companies;Form Homes Builders, Reinforced Concrete Technologies and Roof & All Trading are alleged to have received Sh154.9 Million, Sh115.8 Million and Sh77.2 Million respectively
