He has finally landed  and aren’t we all just excited?His name is Atumpan and you know him from the very awesome song ‘The Thing’ which has some cheeky sexual innuendos that apparently caused a moral outrage in Ghana.

So what else is there to know about the guy responsible for “Small  girl, you don’t know the thing/I am teaching you the thing/You are playing with the thing”?

Here are a few facts about the Ghanian singer:

1.His real name is Frank Elinam Cobbinah

2.He is the first of four children to Christian parents Mr. John Cobbinah and Madam Gladys Lanyo.

3.He was born on the 24th December 1983.

4.His stage name Atumpan literally means ‘The Talking Drum’

5.The Thing in his song is actually”anything teachable [and] discussable” so let us get our minds out of the gutter.

6.He was an  entertainment prefect in  high school

7.He is actually a professional teacher  who holds both Diploma and Degree honors in Education!

8.He was a headteacher once at Zion No 2 D/A Primary School at Dunkwa, in the Central Region.As the head teacher,his school saw a drastic increase in the enrollment of the pupils .

9.Currently he is teaching English Language at Kaneshie Secondary Technical School in the Greater Accra Region.
