Ghafla Exclusive: One Artist, Two Songs Two Competing Studios, First Ever Double Release By an Artist, Whose Production Will Dominate:

Yesterday I informed you guys that Kunguru, was set to release two songs from one produced by Ogopa and the other from Mainswitch studios. Well we can now confirm to you that it is set to be a double release becoming the first time an artist does this.

We spoke to Kunguru and he confirmed that indeed he was working with the two studios and he is aiming for the double release to build up the momentum ahead of his upcoming album that is set to be released in late October or early November. This move comes following the rather subdued reception of his previous single ‘Vumilia’. The two songs are ‘Bahati Yangu’ being done by Ogopa and ‘Good Morning’ which will be done by Mainswitch Studios.

Well we all know the history between Mainswitch and Ogopa and we were interested to know how are they all taking this action. so they have chosen to play the professional card, both houses say they are cool and all they know is they are dealing with an artist and it a professional relationship. Talking to Kunguru he says since he is contracted to neither of the two houses, he is at liberty to work with any producer he feels will enrich the album in the end. However, the album is being produced by Ogopa who will incorporate work from other production houses.

He however admitted there is an element of competition which works out fine for him since each label will put in their best effort in their respective single. This sets up the stage for the ultimate competition of the airwaves. All record labels have the resources, platforms and networks necessary to dominate the airwaves and definitely even as they play all professionals, fingers will be crossed and the whole industry will be looking at the performance of each song to see who came out tops. As Kunguru put it, he definitely gets the most him and the viewers and this is a competition we cannot wait to see unfold ahead of us.
