On the first edition of Tusker Project Fame, back when it was the hottest thing since sliced bread, a star arose. Her name Valerie Kimani, as she emerged first in the hotly contested show.

Life after project fame was not as expected after she released her album Baisikeli which was not a hit as she did not appeal to the Kenyan market.

So she dipped into acting, playing an unforgettable role alongside Lupita Nyong’o in Shuga. Just like Lupita, Valerie has met one of the most influential women on earth,the one, the only, Oprah Winfrey.

This was during the recent Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas where she is based
