Nigerians Deliberately Provoke Whining Kenyan Artists. See What They Did
Yesterday, Kenyan artists decided to make their voice heard by taking to the streets and demonstrating against foreign invasion.
Kenyan artists hit the streets to demonstrate against local media’s preference of Nigerian and South African music over Kenyan content.
The demo attracted the attention of global media. Nigerian blogs also got wind of the demo and decided to write something about it.
How they wrote it is what made their compatriots make fun of poor Kenyan artists who took to the streets to make their voices heard.
“Kenyan Musicians protest domination of Nigerian music on radio.” One Nigerian blog wrote on their headline.
This gave Nigerians the leeway to chastise Kenyan artists for what they termed laziness. The West Africans claim even if Kenyan media implement what the demonstrating artists were demanding, they still can’t compete with their Nigerian counterparts with their mediocre music.
The West Africans argue their music was taking over because of the input they invest in their music and the ‘Nigerian’ brand they have established.
They claim even though their musicians do contemporary music, their identity is still unique unlike Kenyan musicians who have no identity because they are busy aping Americans.
The comments were massive all of which were just trolling Kenyan musicians and their music that has refused to cross borders.
