Battle Lines Drawn! Frasha Vs Lady Bee! Find Out Which Top Gospel Musician Has Shifted Gear To Openly Endorse Frasha

Where do you belong? Celebrities are busy pledging allegiance to the two music heavyweights who are eying top seat at MSCK in the forthcoming elections.

Gospel or secular, that doesn’t matter now, celebrities are inclining towards candidates that they think will best address their interest.

MCSK elections are only five days away, but the cracks they have already created amongst celebrities are huge enough to result to bad blood amongst some celebrities.

Lady Bee and Frasha have been pitted together to battle it out for the director’s seat for Nairobi. Their ambitions have seen fellow artists almost tearing each other in public.

On the first day of this month, Nonini made an April Fool’s Day joke that rubbed Frasha the wrong way. It was a simple jest but Frasha blew it out of proportion.

One would think all gospel musicians should be behind Lady Bee’s back but this isn’t the case, not at all. Top gospel rapper, Holy Dave, has openly endorsed Frasha for the director’s post at MCSK.

The rapper showered Frasha with praise revealing how he was the most suitable candidate for the post. Will his stand also create animosity among other celebrities? I mean it seems like sheer betrayal on the face of gospel fraternity. Anyway it’s just an election after all, right?

Artistes, who are members of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK), are hardly involved in the goings-on of the society. Most just wait to get their royalties and then complain when they earn less than they expect

On June 20th 2012, in an unprecedented move, together with 500 other musicians we stormed the budget committee and MCSK Foundation elections at Blue Springs Hotel and legally voted in four of our own to head the two offices. Mongolo made it to the MCSK Foundation, Frasha made it to the budget committee and we vowed that next we would change the board of directors and put young, new and competent faces. For effective change we need to overhaul the board of directors, where power actually lays. Well, the time has come. It’s time to introduce proper accountability and management structures to shape our industry and building an environment that can allow a young talented Kenyan to build a successful career in the arts, just as in developed countries

I ENDORSE FRASHA AS THE NAIROBI MCSK DIRECTOR. He’s intelligent, experienced and as a successful urban artiste he understands the plight of the modern day Kenyan musician. His campaign manifesto highlights are: 1. Building transparency 2. Reducing bloated expenses 3. Logs to be made public. Voting will be done by MCSK registered members on April 21st at Nyayo Stadium (Basketball arena) from 8am-4pm. “MCSK ni sisi”, let’s come out and vote. For everyone else you can help spread the word by sharing the poster on your social media platforms and making noise
