Damn! Willy Paul Has Done It Again! He Has Shamelessly Stolen Another Song! (EVIDENCE)
Willy Paul’s new song is not so new after all. It,not surprisingly, bears a very striking resemblance to a more popular secular pop song. As has a few other Willy Paul songs.
Willy Paul,I dare say,has a very rich voice. And is a devilishly gifted singer…If only he’d exercise a little honesty and originality in the whines he calls songs. Unfortunately, he doesn’t.
After his last release, dedicated to his Mama,Willy Paul has now dropped another song…asking us to piga vigelegele…
The song Mama had a very obvious tune and rhythm borrowed-nay,stolen-from Barbados beauty Rihanna’s song Rehab. Mama’s intro was almost an exact copy and paste of Riri’s Rehab.
And when Willy Paul is not stealing tunes and rhythms and melodies,he’s stealing song titles as he did with Lala Salama a song title that he obviously stole from his pop idol Diamond Platnumz who, too, had a song titled Lala Salama.
Or names because now he is Willy Paul Msafi. Diamond’s crew goes by the name Wasafi….well, its as clear as day who the thug is here.
Damn, and if You listen to Tanzanian artist Belle 9’s song Masogange,You will also know where Willy Paul stole the chorus for his hit Mpenzi.
And now…the perennial thug has stolen yet another song tune, melody and rhythm…And passed it off as his own. If you’ve had the misfortune of listening to Willy Paul’s latest song VIGELEGELE You will very clearly know where that song was borrowed from… And its from Nigerian pop star Burna Boy.

For those of you who follow the eccentric Shaba Ranks-channeling Nigerian crooner,You will be aware that Burna Boy has a song titled Check And Balance.
Check And Balance was released on 15th September 2014 and a follow up video was dropped on 28th October 2014. Check and Balance was produced by Spellz(audio) and directed by Mattmax(video).
And just 6 months down the line,Kenya’s most uncreative gospel drama boy has stolen NOT just the song’s rhythm, but also the tune, the beat, the chorus humming intro, the mid-song pauses, the arrangement, the melody AND,believe it or not, video concept AND Burna Boy’s wardrobe! Burna Boy’s wardrobe! SERIOUSLY??!?
Good Lord!
I watched the video (he released it on March 27,2015 ) and almost threw up. If not crapping my pants.
Oh,the similarities! I could have sworn I was listening to an unofficial Check And Balance remix! But no…It was just Willy Paul doing what he does best…dancing to a tune that’s NOT his own!
What’s worse? He stole it from a secular artist..and fashioned it into a ‘gospel’ song. Oh boy!
All this from the young man who won’t stop beseeching us to ‘leave him alone’ and ‘stop attacking him’ and quit hating on him.
Listen Up! Little kid….
We were not born to appreciate shameless musical thievery, consistent plagiarism, arrant rip-offs,uncreative regurgitations, bland imitations and third-rate artistic knockoffs.
We deserve better than ‘china-lized’ music releases all of which bear a glaring, obvious resemblance to not only much popular older songs but also secular ones at that.
Willy Paul will continue to play the ‘I am a victim’ card…ceaselessly lamenting in his stolen songs over how society hates him, prays to watch him fall and wishes death on him. As if anyone of us really cares about how successful-or unsuccessful-someone of Willy Paul’s diminishing stature becomes.

We are out here trying to earn bread, pay rent, raise families and educate our kids and the last thing on our minds is how deep Willy Paul sinks. We couldn’t care less, really.
But in a World inundated with music connoisseurs ,bloggers, hawkish social critics and bile-filled social media potentates,Willy Paul’s tradition of unabashed musical thievery cannot go unnoticed. Or unchallenged.
We shall call you out whether You like it or not. And whether you whine or not.
Your job is to do music that glorifies God,edifies the soul, evangelizes to the lost and restores the hope of the downtrodden but you’ve consistently failed in all of those aspects. Spectacularly.
Willy Paul, employing the wisdom of a foxy politician, will always want us to believe that society is constantly after his blood. And that a malicious witch hunt against him is always on.
He couldn’t be further from the truth…for if you base your whole career around controversy, egocentrism, hardheadedness and monthly plagiarism as Willy Paul has,You can barely survive the chopping board.
In America,in a landmark ruling that saw the creators of the global smash hit “Blurred Lines”,Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke, ordered by a court to pay a staggering $ 7.3 million dollars (Yes,that’s Ksh. 657,000,000) to the estate of the late Soul singer Marvin Gaye, for ripping off his 1977 song “Got To Give It Up”, it goes on to show just how plagiarism is really taken seriously offshore.
And,if this were America,or any other Western nation,Willy Paul would now be staring at a ballooning epic court battle with the similarly-egocentric Nigerian crooner Burna Boy.
But luckily for Paul,that may-or will-never happen.
But the absence of art-related lawsuits or a proper structure to really hold plagiarists to legal account DOES NOT permit an artist to,over and over, steal people’s creative work in the pretext of inspiration and to,after being busted, deny any culpability.
Well, that’s just another working day in Willy Paul’s turbulent life.
