Jalang’o ,His Co-Host And Other Radio Maisha Presenters Allegedly Summoned For Demanding a Pay Rise. Here is the Inside Scoop

Top Radio Maisha presenters were allegedly summoned yesterday by head of radio after they formally sent a request CEO Sam Sholei demanding pay rise.

The five who are apparently named ‘The Kapenguria Five’ include, Alex Mwakideu, Jalango (both of Maisha Asubuhi) Emmanuel Mwashumbe(Rhumba Attention) , Anne Njogu ( Starabika mid morning show) and Babu wa Kasiaka ( Maji Makuu late night show) were all summoned by Tom Japanni ( husband to Milele FMs Massawe Japanni) who is the head of radio.

They claimed that their salaries have stagnated ever since they joined the Standard Media Group. According to IPSOS synovate, Maisha Asubuhi is the most listened to programme so it is only obvious it brings in the big bucks. The Alex – Jalango combination is credited for improving the station’s national ranking to position 2 after Radio Citizen.

We spoke to Jalang’o since the others could not be reached and he denied any knowledge of the said incident, saying that he nor his colleagues had been summoned.
