DJ Pinye has been on the receiving end as artists have come forward accusing him of “killing” local talents.

Being one of the pioneers of Kenyan music showbiz, one can expect the veteran DJ to be on the forefront promoting local talents but on the contrary, Pinye is being accused of not playing some songs by local musicians. The recent complain leveled against the mix master is that one by Papa Dennis who has accused him of not playing Injili; Papa Dennis’ viral song.

Banjuka hit maker DNA is the latest music heavyweight that has come forward to disclose how the revered deejay refused to play his mega hit Banjuka. Talking to Spice Magazine Kenya, DNA reveals he approached Pinye to play his track only for Pinye to turn him down. He decided to approach KBC and other vernacular stations to play his song and as fate had it, the song became a mega club banger hitting the airwaves and reverberating across the nation for close to two years.

“If it’s hot, its Hot. If it’s not, it’s Not. No one can make or break it!!! I stopped supplying music to the Beat and now they are forced to find it through their own avenues” DNA told Spice Magazine.
