This Is Why Sauti Sol Are In State House For A Second Time In A Week

It was late last week that Sauti Sol were invited to State House to perform and meet President Uhuru Kenyatta on his birthday.

However, for a second time in just less than a week, Sauti Sol are back in State House, this time round not for another birthday performance, but for UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.

Sauti Sol were invited by the President himself to perform in a State Banquet in honour of Ki Moon who is in the country for a major UN conference.

It is very rare for musicians to frequently pay State House a visit but Sauti Sol have found themselves State House guests, not just once but twice in not a year but a week.

This could possibly explain the importance that the Kenyan government is attaching to the singing group of four.

It can be remembered that Ghafla Kenya revealed how Sauti Sol were accorded VIP treatment along Ngong Road a few weeks ago, a road that is very synonymous to traffic snarl ups and congestion.

Sauti Sol lately won the MTVEMA Best African Act award and they are in for an even bigger one, the MTVEMA Best Worldwide Act award.

Among those in the forefront to support them for the award is President Uhuru Kenyatta himself.
