Sauti Sol Lose Out On The Coveted MTVEMA Award
Sauti Sol, winners of the MTVEMA best African Award section and who were the only representatives from Africa for the MTVEMA Best Worldwide Act section have failed to qualify to the finals of the award.
MTVEMA yesterday announced the names of the 10 artists who managed to make it to the very second last step of the awards and Sauti Sol were among those who missed out.
Sauti Sol were beaten alongside India’s Yo Yo Honey Singh to the finals by Palestinian singer Mohamed Assaf.
Out of the 286 artists contesting for the finals, only 10 of them made it after voting was closed down on Wednesday.

The winner of the Worldwide Act will be announced on Sunday November 9, 2014.
Sauti Sol however have made news for their exploits in the entertainment industry after winning the Best African Act award.
They have since found themselves in State House twice in a week, Nairobi, where they were first attended President Uhuru Kenyatta’s birthday and then entertained UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon.
