Nation F.M Presenters and Buzz Columnist React To Corporates Abandoning Sauti Sol After Their Steamy ‘Nishike’ Video

Sauti Sol’s latest video ‘Nishike’ was a double edged sword, on one side they were able to come out of the box and express themselves as artistes and in the process please and gain hordes of fans, on the other hand, major corporate were not too excited about the casual flaunting of oily chiseled abs and found the video a tad ‘too hot for their brands’.

 Sauti Sol have expressed that they are ‘unapologetic’ have no regrets about their video in a blogpost by Bien Aime. The article trended on Twitter and made it to NTV’s #the trend where Larry, Nation’s Columnist Philip Mwaniki, Nation F.M presenters Anto and Ciku Muriuki discussed the consequences of releasing the ‘amorous’ video .

Phillip was of the opinion that ‘We can’t blame the corporate world for doing what they do best, for just saying no to it because they used to say yes before so clearly they have their own standards and their own  audience and the standards have to be maintained’

Adding that “I am sure that there are other less conservative corporate sponsors who can take them up.”

Anto on the other hand supported Sauti Sol’s out of the box thinking adding that an artiste has to at times push the envelope in order to achieve greatness.
