Smitta Smitten Bereaved

August is really an unpopular month,and for a good reason.Its the month where the angel of death pays one too many visits to our country.From the botched coup d’état  in 1982 to the death of our first president,from inter-ethnic conflicts in Tana river to the 1998terrorist attack,August is really a bad month in our country.

Recently Collo lost his father now Standard journalist Smitta Smitten whose real name is Tony Mochama has lost his younger brother Benjy Mauta.

According To Pulse Magazine,Benjy had been admitted to hospital for a period of three weeks before his death after being attacked by thugs as he was coming from collecting rent from their family property in Ngong.The robbers knocked him out cold leaving him for dead and also stealing his shirt.This incidence led to him contracting pneumonia. He was admitted at the Nairobi West  Hospital where a  blood clot in the lung  took his life.

On his column in the Pulse Today this is what Tony said”I m stricken to tell ya that me kid brother passed on last Sunday night,at about half ten in the pm.I had just seen him in hosi that sunlit aftey,wishing his was well enough to go scope out his fave team Man U play Wigan for that chapati cooking pan called”Community shield”

My heart goes out to Smitta and his family during this trying time.
