Famous Actor Now Also Weighs In On The Now Seemingly Controversial State of Kenyan Gospel Scene
The shape that the Gospel scene has taken seems to draw so much attention from different stakeholders in the industry. Just yesterday, both Tanzanian Gospel singer Christina Shisho and former “Stomp” producer Arthur K termed the industry as ‘Gospel entertainment’ instead of being Gospel Ministry (read about that HERE).
Well, this morning thespian Xavier Jerry Nato, famous for his lead role in “Wash and Set” has added his voice on the debate. This is what he thinks;
I won’t judge anyone because the good book says so so I’ll recognize Rufftone as among the very few gospel artists who are truly saved. Christina Shusho has hit at Kenyan gospel musicians and it is true as most of them truly are in for the cheddar. All in all, the messages they give in their songs are strong and inspiring.
I take Jemimah Thiongo as one of the musicians who really give me hope in their music, Jimmy Gaits “appointment” reminds me to believe in prayer for He listens with no hurdles. Rufftone’s latest single “I will survive” keeps me going but kuna mziki ukiskiza they leave you with nothing but a good rush got after listening to music.
The gospel musicians should also realize they’re more adored than secular musicians. I remember one time at St. Georges Girls I had gone for rehearsals and gospel group had graced an event. These kids took off to dance to the music & ready to face my wrath for skyving rehearsals. By this, our gospel musicians are adored thus high chances that they’re models to the young generation and will be emulated. A kid growing in Christianity hears that MC X, the top gospel artist is in Carny partying. Wether taking juice or fact is yo telling these kids Carny is ok just don’t take alcohol & smoke. The kids will back slide.
Just my mind breathing out…
