Man Accused of Killing STL’s Dad Jailed

In January last year STL’s dad, Mr. Jeff Mwangi Kwirikia, was killed in a hit-and-run incident in the Ullensaker municipality between Dal and Jessheim in Norway. More than a year, the suspect handed himself to the authorities this week finally paving way for justice to prevail for STL’s family.

According to a Norwegian site, News In English, the driver charged with accidentally killing Mr. Mwangi in a hit and run accident, was sentenced to 120 days in jail on Tuesday. A local court in Øvre Romerike also ruled that the 40 year old man will never drive a car again. The court further ordered the man to pay NOK 125, 000 to each of the victim’s eight closest family members.

The court also heard that before the accident in January 2012, the man had driven for at least 16 seconds without paying sufficient attention. The accused would have been sentenced to five months in jail had he not surrendered himself to police and confessed to being the driver of the vehicle that ran over STL’s father.
