Shaffie Weru & Oliech Robbed In The Club Of Stuff Worth Over 100,000
Turns out the Jameson party last weekend was full of drama.
First we had Camp Mulla’s Shappaman, Ian Mugoya, Nick Mutuma and Eddie Tash involved in a fight where guns were drawn. That was crazy. After seeing that story, Shaffie Weru has now come out to share his story of how he was jacked at the same event, and to spread awareness of a racket that is running at these high end events.
So Shaffie had checked into the Jameson party with his pals, and there was excitement everywhere. Jameson had branded the party as one for upperclassmen, so Shaffie felt confident of his security as he went from his Range Rover Sport, straight to the bar to order some drinks. After buying a round for him and his friends, Shaffie reached into his pocket but alas! The wallet Shaffie had brought with him had disappeared into thin air! He frantically checked his other pocket for the wallet. Lo and behold, his Blackberry Z10, which was in the other pocket, had disappeared as well! Worse still, he had only bought the Blackberry a few days ago!
Shaffie was understandably upset with the whole situation, and immediately headed for the exits. He had only been at the club for 10 minutes, but what are you going to do at a party with no money and no phone?
Some time later on, Shaffie was alerted that his friend, Dennis Oliech’s brother, had also been robbed of a Galaxy Note 2 at the same venue. Now let’s do the maths:
Blackberry Z10 – 70,000 KShs
Galaxy Note 2 – 56,000 KShs
Items in Shaffie’s Wallet – Over 20,000 KShs
Total – 146,000 KShs
This is where Shaffie spotted a pattern of behaviour, which he wants to put a stop to. He told us,
“I noticed that it’s a clique of guys who have been coming to these high end events with the sole intent of jacking people. And it’s not Kawangware guys. These thugs dress well and fit in with the crowd, and people need to watch out who they interact with at these parties. They have means, but are too lazy to work, and just steal people’s things instead. Personally, I’m never talking to any randoms again. These guys pretend to be your fans, then you find your stuff is missing. It’s usually the same thugs and they are known all over Nairobi, even at Skylux they are not allowed.”
Ghafla! Fans, you have been warned.
