How Size 8 Made 7 Million In 6 months

For those who didn’t read the Buzz yesterday, Size 8 gave them a candid interview where she talked about how far she has come in the three years she’s been in showbiz. She said that she is now a millionaire, and even she doesn’t yet believe how it has happened. “It’s God’s work and hard work put together,” she said.

Size 8 last year had a Safaricom Live contract, hosted the Sakata dance show, had several TV commercials, acted in ‘Mheshimiwa’ TV series and her music was blazing the airwaves. On all that, she replied:

“That was all planned by the way. I wanted to be the first Kenyan musician to be on TV the same time the most. You switch on your TV and find a ‘Bonyeza Ushinde’ advert I have done, then my music plays in a music show, then see me acting and host a show on different occasions, and it was lovely seeing that work very well.”

Then John Muchiri asked her, “how much money did you make last year?”

Size 8 told him: “If I’m to calculate for six months only up to December, I made about Sh7 million.”

What have you done with that kind of money?

Size 8: “Investments here and there, 10 percent as tithe, and I’m about to start a children’s home with a friend Eddy Gicheru Oketch, in Nyanza.”

Remember Size 8 also bought a sleek sportscar with some of the money late last year.

On how exactly she started making that sort of money, Size 8 said the secret was:

“When I made a decision to raise my performance fee. I used to charge very little cash to perform but when I realised how powerful I was as a musician, I decided to take advantage of that.”

However, despite all this, Size 8 is not the richest female celebrity in Kenya. Find out who that is by clicking here.
