Why This Kenyan Artiste Could Be Better Than Jay-Z and Ray Charles
Lacuna is an alternative Kenyan hip hop artiste. He describes his music as “a reflection of who I was, who I am, and who I want to be and be with.” He is currently recording his first LP and focusing on commercial music.
He is releasing his first single, Fly Away, which he describes as a blend of house-progressive, Nu-Jazz and hip hop music. He draws his inspiration from Ray Charles, Jay-Z, Slum Village, Nina Simone and even Greek philosophy.
The 20-year old artiste’s music is produced by Kim at Replay Studios in Nairobi. He is planning on releasing a mixtape this August to celebrate a year since he started recording. Check out the track below.
