SAD! KENYANS DON’T HONOUR DEPARTED ARTISTS!
Kenyans do not honour their dearly departed entertainers!
And here i don’t mean radio stations playing one or two random jams to commemorate their departure, here i am talking about a celebration of their lives a la Tupac and Biggie!
Aye, i for one am tired of us treating our national entertainers, people who fly our flag sky high in international musical festivals and concerts being treated like a dark shameful secret once they have departed!
We should have a street and at this point i would even settle for an alley named after E-sir! That is how much he impacted urban culture! And such an alley would anyway have been bestowed with a better name than “Panya lane”!
artists like Wiki Mosh and Dry Gin& Frakas died paupers yet we still dance to their legacies. It is shameful! We nshould acknowledge their contributions to more than urban culture. One way or another they even influenced the words we speak! Wiki Mosh gave us “Atoti” and Krupt should be honoured for putting his hood Nbi West on the map.
Come on people, are we such a thankless bunch? Think about it.
This is my humble opinion!
