DJ MO – Ordinary Wa Ocha

DJ Mo is best known for being one of the winners of the Pilsner Mfalme DJ competition. His win was hotly opposed by some of the other DJs, who went to the media to air their complaints. He is also a member of the System Unit Crew, alongside Alemba, DK and DJ Tabz. In a recent interview, DJ Mo was queried about his origins before he made the leap to become a popular DJ. He gladly admitted to having a farming background from the village.

His exact words were:

“I grew up in Nakuru and Nairobi. I am the first-born in a family of three; I have two sisters who come after me. I attended Maragua Primary School and later Lanet High School in Nakuru. During my high school years, I stayed with my shosho (grandmother) in Nakuru. So my childhood was a mixture of the village and town life. I appreciate the village life and I am a good farmer.”
