KENYA’S BELIEVER
Kenyan music lovers have been craving more and more for a wider berth of musical genres. Well, these Believer’s heard you…
After giving people a taste of what was to come with a promising teaser, Jahawi and Kevin Samuel came up with the ‘yellow balloon’ concept. If you’ve been hearing alot about this on social media and had no clue…well now you do.
Late last year, US artist Yazmany Arboleda came up with the idea of handing out at least 10,000 balloons to Kenyan commuters as they made their way to work that morning of early November 2011. This was meant to put a smile on Kenyans faces as they faced the perennial ‘Monday blues’ and especially after the country had declared its first war ever, on neighbouring Somalia.
Produced by Danni Karanja, and conceptualized by Kenyan-German Phillipa Ndissi-Herrmann, the video to this feel good almost techno song features alot of unique camera work and effects, as well as beautiful clips of our Green City in the Sun.
The video openly tells us that Kenya really is going global, with creative concepts and creations that appeal to a wider market. Have a look at the video ‘Believer’ for yourself below and share your thoughts
