The Unsung Super-Gorgeous Heroes Of Coke Studio Africa .What You Did Not Know About Them

As we count days to the premier of the third season of Coke Studio Africa in Coke Studio, we would like to take this opportunity and focus on some of the unsung heroes of Coke studio Africa.

The backup vocalists that make our musicians sound oh so beautiful when they belt out those ethereal tunes. They are beautiful, feisty and in a different world, the two would have been Kenya’s very own Destiny’s Child. They are Mayonde, Trina and Ivlyn and together they make up the gorgeous trio who have held musicians down as they perform on Coke Studio.

Well let’s get to know a little about them

 1.Mayonde

I first came across Mayonde when she acted as an upcoming musician on KTN’s Brief Case Inc before she spread out her wings and ventured into singing. The petite lass is the talent behind Isikuti Love which you can check out below

By the way Mayonde is married to Mbithi Musya from Just A Band. A talented family it is!

2 Ivlyn Mutua

Ivlyn is a Worship Leader who has led worship in many churches in Nairobi and a gospel music who is passionate about God and Music. She has a track called ‘Power’ which you can find here and has worked with DJ Sadic in a song called Firm Foundation and Hopekid in Delilah.

3.Trina ‘Meka’ Mungai

Just like Mayonde, Trina is a musician who has unfortunately gotten less recognition than she deserves.

Last year, she was one of the six Airtel Trace Music Star finalists and if you listen to her, it’s no wonder she made it to the finals. This year, Trina worked with the famous Jaaz Odongo on his first single ‘Pale Pale’ off his upcoming EP.

There you have it, the beautiful vibrant ladies that serve the very important role of being Coke’s Studio’s background vocalists
