Cartoonist Maddo and Four Other Journalists Among Finalists of the 2015 CNN Multichoice African Journalist Award
Kenyan Journalists have performed impressively on the African continental journalism awards over the years. This year it is no different as five artists are among the 31 finalists from around the continent. The awards will be marking their 20th anniversary and will be held here in Nairobi sometime in October.
The five journalists include celebrated cartoonist Paul Kelemba popularly known as Maddo and Kiundu Waweru all from The Standard Group, Enock Sikolia and Charles Kariuki from NTV and finally George Oduor Otieno of Baraka FM.
All these will also be competing for the overall prize which last year was won by a Kenyan Joseph Matheng’e a photographer and cameraman with NTV. He won the award for his Images of Terror photo series.The CNN/MultiChoice African Journalist 2015 will have the opportunity to participate in the CNN Journalism Fellowship at CNN Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA
