Curvaceous Kenyan Actress And 2 Other Prominent East African Celebs Win Oscar Award
East African artists have brushed off competition from continental heavyweights, Nigerians, to bag three prizes from Oscar award.
The annual NAFCA (Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards) which is also known as the African Oscars, announced winners of its fifth edition.
Three East Africans, Anne Kansiime, Diamond Platnumz and Kenyan actress, Clarice Otieno, were named winners in their respective categories.
Kansiime Anne is taking home ‘Favorite Comedian’, Diamond ‘Favorite song and Favorite artist of the year’ while Clarice bagged ‘Best Promising Actress.’
Anne Kansiime, Uganda’s arguably funniest comedian, defeated big names like Nigeria’s Basket Mouth and Klint Da Drunk to win in her category.
Clarice, the Kenyan model-cum-actress, has secured a niche for herself in American film industry; she has also featured in Nollywood movies. Her efforts in the industry were well appreciated with the NAFCA award she just won.

NAFCA award gala will be held on the 12th of September 2015 at the iconic Orpheum Theatre,in Los Angeles USA. The three East Africans will have to travel to the US to be handed their prizes.
