So indeed Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, wore protective armor when he visited President Uhuru at State House last week!
Kenyans were vexed by the action of the Italian PM when photos showing his protruding bulletproof vest hit the social media.
Leading western media, CNN, were equally baffled by revelations Matteo wore a bulletproof vest at State House. It for this reason that they went on a mission of shedding more light on the incident.
CNN put Italian government to task to explain why they dressed their leader in body armor even while visiting Kenya’s president at his fortress.
First the Italian government confirmed Matteo wore the vest and explained he only did so because of a tight schedule.
CNN says authority in Italy told them the PM didn’t have time to take off the bulletproof jacket when he visited Uhuru at State House.
Probably he forgot or maybe taking it off and wearing it again while leaving State House was a tedious process so Matteo opted to wear it wherever he went.
