Forget Air Force 1, Forget The Beast, Everybody Forgot About These Men Carrying US Briefcase With Nuclear War Plan Who Will Also Be Accompanying Obama (Photos)

While Kenyans are mesmerized by Air Force 1, the Beast and Marine 1, nobody seems to be shedding light on the military aides carrying the ‘Nuclear Football’.

The nuclear Football also known as atomic football is a briefcase containing codes that US President uses to authorize a nuclear attack while away from fixed command centers, such as White House Situation Room.

The Football is a metallic briefcase carried in a black leather jacket with a small antenna protruding from the bag near the handle.

The military aide(s) carrying the Football are always by US President side or hidden in plain sight. At any given time, five people hold the title of White House military aide, a not particularly revealing description for the men and women who take turns carrying it.

Military sources say there are four things in the Football. A black book containing the retaliatory options, a book listing classified site locations, a manila folder with eight or ten pages stapled together giving a description of procedures for the emergency alert system, and a three-by-five inch card with authentication codes.

A separate nuclear Football is also assigned to the Vice President of US in case the President is incapacitated or otherwise unable to discharge his duties.

So when Obama arrives, don’t just pay attention to his plane or motorcade, take time to look at the guys carrying the 20kg briefcase.
