Obama Unmasked! Why The US President Refused To Inherit His Father’s Estate Valued In Hundreds Of Thousands In 1980s

With the US President only days away from touching down in Kenya, news outlets have continued to strip him making sure the public gets to know every single detail about Potus.

Barack Obama is currently estimated to be worth $ 7M or Kes 716 million. But I bet the figure was way low in 1997 when he decided to pen a letter to High Court in Nairobi to distant himself from his father’s estate.

His dad’s estate was valued at about Kes 410,500 at the time of his death in 1982. Barack Obama Snr’s estate included Kes 55,933, money from a life insurance cover that the listed beneficiaries are yet to claim due to family wrangles.

The family brawl saw the cash remain idle resulting to transfer of the money to Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA).

The Obamas have been locked in fierce tussle over who is rightful heir to inherit the fund Obama Senior left behind.

Barack’s name (The US President) was on the list among those who were to benefit from Obama’s life insurance.

Following the unresolved wrangles, Obama decided to distant himself from his father’s estate. Michelle’s hubby wrote a letter to the Kenyan High Court to dissociate his name from any claims he might have on his father’s estate.
