Mixed Reactions Flood America’s Mockery That Showed Hollywood Actor Make A Fool Of Kenyans

Hollywood actor, Anthony Anderson, has court controversy after he was seen in a video making a monkey out of Kenyans.

Kenya’s rich athletics history has motivated America’s Sports channel ESPN to come up with a parody which has made Kenyans’ hackles rise.

Hollywood actor and comedian, Anthony Anderson and host Jimmy Kimmel worked on a mock documentary that profiles a Kenyan athlete known as Mzuzi Timato.

Titled ‘The World’s Slowest Kenyan’, the documentary focus Timato who is a failure in as far as running is involved. Contrary to what Kenyans athletes are known for.

But what seems to have vexed most Kenyans was the accent. While the parody was depicting Kenyan athletes, the cast used West African and partly South African accents.

Jimmy Kimmel: Anthony Anderson is not your typical Kenyan…

Giancarlo Olracnaig: Is it just me or does he look like he could be 50cents shorter bigger brother

Davy Kamanzi: Neither “Mzuzi” nor “Timato” are Kenyan names at all … he should’ve been the one being called “Bwana Mkubwa” (Big Man) 😛

Caren Matei: Davy Kamanzi i know right..and the two anthletes making jokes got some west african accent.

Frankie Caputo: What was the point of this

Im Brad: A slow Kenyan is like a poor spelling Indian or a good driving Asian.

Jeremy Siganga: I’m Kenyan…this is fucking hillarious…his coach Bwana Mkubwa lol!!!!

Joel Ratemo: haha. bwana mkubwa. kali sana

Karlson Hugeng: I was confused about this too

Chance Jolivette: that shit was funny as hell

Angie Buku: I’m Kenyan, and if you’re going to portray people from my country at least get the accent right. Not all Africans sound like they speak Afrikaans.

Mbithe Kimeu: +Angie Buku the concept was funny but I wish they’d made a bit of effort on the accent and the name, I mean who’s called Mzuzi Timato????

Nguhi Karanja: Awesome Documentary,

kevin Kamau: Plus ESPN not everyone in Kenya runs I can barely run for 50 meters

Robert Gonzalez: Im offensive and i find this kenyan

amali razor: as a kenyan, am diggin the publicity; funny stuff.. but ain’t no one who can get the accents riiiight, from Sense 8 to this… oO y’all better RUN

Amani F: Haha! Had me dying!!

kabugi Thedj: Lmaoooo. So let me get this straight. The Kenyan runners weren’t Kenyan. The slow runner had a SA name. The accents are SA. At least they got Bwana Mkubwa right. Kenya getting love in a roundabout way. Yea. We’ll take it.

kioko Mark Peter: am kenyan and thats not a kenyan accent ….i loved it though

Simon Mutua: Funny! I love my country

diana Afandi: haraka! very funny Timato

bhoke inimah:This is quite funny but I wish they had taken a minute or two to learn something about Kenya. 1. There is no such name as Timato Mzuzi, that sounds South African. Kenyan athletes have names like Kipchoge, Kipsang, Kipkemboi… you get the drift. 2. No one in Kenya speaks like that. That sounds like a West African African accent. 3. This may shock y’all but trust me, most Kenyans can’t run. The sport is limited to one tribe out of the forty two we have with the exceptions of a few!

edgar castro: The field they use is Hollywood High School, which is across the street from where Kimmel records the show

kevin Kamau: this is funny… For those Kenyans complaining about the accent… Nawafeel but tuache feelings at least we got some positive publicity. I cant believe that no Kenyan company has ever done such a story

Nessy ness: Why the south African accent and not a Kenyan accent? Is it ignorance or a piss take?

Nessy ness: nkt, I will just label them as “mafalas” and move on with my Kenyan accent

Ticktick: Americans arent funny

adrian Cromwell: Funny but total bullshit I’m Kenyan born and no Kenyan sounds like that. not all African’s have that accent damn What is wrong with America. And there’s no Kenyan name like timato I like Anthony but dude at least study Kenyan’s first before you try to make fun of them
