Step Aside Mike Sonko! Introducing The Next Youthful Political Superstar…Silvanus Osoro.

Last weekend,a huge political event shook the City. Actually, it wasn’t even meant to be political…It was a corporate meeting at Laico Regency that quickly turned political after the entrance of heavyweight CORD Principals.

At the Laico Regency last Saturday,a young man had organized an official get together for his office that would culminate in the graduation of over 30 members of his Sales and Marketing office into Managers and Assistant Managers.

The young man,who is precisely 28 years old only,was none other than the industrious Silvanus Osoro…

Silvanus, an orphan who rose from abject poverty to grace the hallways of power and fortunes, has a company,Pitchface Marketing,that has employed over 1,000 youth nationally dealing mainly in Sales and Marketing.

Osoro,the Managing Director of Pitchface Marketing,lost his parents at age 9. And that’s where his uncle took over his parenting before the uncle,in another sad twist of fate, got incarcerated for close to half a decade.

Again,Osoro was left to fend for himself…With his siblings all of whom were young and unable to sustain themselves leave alone the young boy.

And now,just some 20+ years later,this same young man who was brought up in the trenches, missed school countless times and had to live with relative after relative for lack of a proper home,was now the main man at Laico Regency,a 5 star glimmering facility that is frequented by-and hired by-only the mighty and powerful.

But at only 28,Osoro,who also a Law student doing his masters, has already joined the big league and has decided to show his might and success by hosting over 300 members of his expansive company at Laico for a one day event that was graced by powerful political mandarins.

Raila Odinga,the enigmatic CORD Principal was a chief guest and even though he got caught up,still Hon. John Mbadi of Suba ably represented the CORD Lord.

At around 10.00am,the meticulous Osoro strode into Laico Regency with a convoy that composed of over ten powerful machines that roared into the compound like the entrance of a powerful state official at a safely-guarded EU event in Brussels.

Stepping off his car,Osoro,decked in a tight, well-manicured Italian suit,and clutching a briefcase close,a briefcase that was later to be shown containing hundreds of thousands of shillings, strode into Laico Regency flanked by security that didn’t just compose of his own personal body guards but also a contingent of regular Police…Armed to the teeth.

After Osoro’s arrival into the well-prepared hall,the hundreds of his employees rose to their feet in a thunderous applause that reverberated across the room…Corner to corner…these young men and women cheered him on..Clapping and ululating and almost bowing down,in deep reverence, for the boss they not only affectionately call ‘Boss’ but ‘Daddy’ too.

His walked to the front…In a majestic way that only a man of his distinguished caliber would, followed by over 10 cameras that had been hired for the day and as he sat,so did his employees too who,still,appeared dazed and mesmerized by the grandeur and glory of the man that had not just employed them but also nurtured them and maintained their lifestyles.

And after roughly 30-minutes,a commotion was experienced around the heavily-manned entrance.

All heads turned back to see what the ruckus really was all about…And, appearing from the crowd at the entrance was none other than CORD Principal and former VP Kalonzo Musyoka who,too,strode into the room amid wild cheers and while waving at the besotted crowd.

Flanked by heavy security, decked in coal-black suit and clutching radio phones,Kalonzo walked up to the podium and took his seat, right nest to this new political rock star.

Wasting no time,Osoro arose to address the gathered crowd of his employees who jubilated at him and seemed to have been dazed at the mention-and address-from their Boss.

Osoro,fired up,charged the crowd for a whole one hour..Talking of the strides his company has made over the last 5 years,his not-so-rosy upbringing, his management of Pitchface Marketing and his unwavering desire to not only vie for but also clinch the seat for Youth Leader in ODM.

Osoro had also campaigned for the Embakasi West Seat in the 2013 elections though he lost narrowly to…And,at the moment, he announced that he was going for that seat,yet again.

His contender in that seat,too,showed up and sat side by side with Osoro.

Kalonzo made his impassioned speech,too. Urging the congregated masses of youth to take charge of their destiny,arise,change the nation and take it back on course. He,as expected,had very little kind words for the Government of the day too.

Many dignitaries continued arriving still…Many others,including MPs from as far as Molo,Nakuru and Homa Bay sent their emissaries.

It was now John Mbadi’s turn to talk…John,a youthful Nyanza politician,who is also the ODM Chairman,wasted no time into launching into a heated tirade against corruption and what he called national saboteurs before asking the youths to take charge and demand for the best from whom they had elected.

And while Mbadi was talking, another figure quietly strode into the charged room…It was Babu Owino,the SONU Chairman.

Babu’s entry,though low-key,was still greeted with the same jubilation that any other guest had received. With his signature smile and diminutive figure,Babu walked to the front and was ushered to the guest seats…From where he sat,quietly,following the proceedings before giving a speech of his own too. Which,as we had all expected, bore all the hallmarks of a typical Babu speech; Impassioned,straight to the point,heated,aflame and very animated.

He drew cheers and claps and laughs from all across the packed auditorium before walking back to his seat…Like the triumphant General he must have imagined he truly was.

Osoro basked in the glory….All this time,giving speech after speech,rallying against the culture of corruption and laziness,urging the youth to look up and look forward, denouncing tribalism and thanking his heavy contingent for showing up in such huge masses.

Reporters from all TV stations,too,were present recording the events from their many cameras mounted across the room….

And after promoting his employees to managers and assistant managers,it was time to give medals and Babu Owino and John mbadi were tasked with awarding medals to the happy,qualifying employees.

Kayamba Africa,all this time,provided awesome music that kept the audience on it’s feet for almost an hour long…

And after a 6-hour business/political marathon,the event came to a close and gifts were handed out. The cake on the icing,obviously,was the grand gift that The Pitchface Marketing Company had bought for Raila Odinga.

A huge,imposing eagle head bronze mast sculpture that shone and towered above the room and that sent a chorus of ‘wooowwws’ across the auditorium.

Osoro,sure has started on the right note.

Watch out,Mike Sonko! It looks like there is a new political rock star in town! And boy,is he a baller!
