KTN News Anchor Remembers Her Days In Burundi Before The Coup. Praises President President Pierre Nkurunziza
After a 12 year armed conflict that started in 1993 and left about 300,000 people dead, the Burundi Civil war came to and end in 2005.
A decade later Burundi is in turmoil once again, this is after the attempt to oust incumbent president Nkurunziza who was away in Tanzania.
I hear that the coup has been botched thanks to the army and the police.
But Burundi has not always been a country with coups, KTN’s Joy Doreen Biiira shares memories of the country before the coup that has seen tens of thousands of people flee to safety.
