How Rabbit a.k.a.Kaka Sungura Became the Best Kenyan Rapper Beating the Likes of Octopizzo and Khaligraph
Rabbit recently launched his fourth album “The Legend of Kaka” in an event that brought together all the movers and shakers in both gospel and secular music industries.
They include Abbas, Collo, Avril, Rap Damu, Kristoff, Kaligraph, Jimmy Gait, Bahati, Polycarp Fancy Fingers of Sauti Sol, Juliani and Brian Chweya of Elani, among others. In the wake of Garissa Attacks, the Kenyan music industry will need more of such inclusive events.
But how has Rabbit managed to become such a respected name in Kenya so fast?
First it’s his vast recordings. It’s rumoured that Rabbit has up to 100 mixtapes. Then there is his label Kaka Empire, which has signed several artists including Avril. Then his involvement in Coke Studio Africa season 2 is said to have played a big part, as meeting and working with artists like Wyclef Jean gave him new inspiration.

Sources indicate that some of Rabbit’s artists from Kaka Empire will be featured in Coke Studio Africa new season 3, set to return in 2015.
