It’s big, it’s better and it’s entirely East African! The region’s music heavyweight are locking horns every week at East African’s most exciting reality show, Maisha Superstar, which gives fans the privilege of deciding who is the dopiest rookie coached by these musicians.
Last Monday witnessed the crash of the titans as star rookie twisted and manipulated their voices to outdo each other in a bid to emerge as the winner of episode six of the show. ( 1.2 million and a recording contract is at stake.)
Guest judges included: Habida, Jaaz Odongo, Tina Kosoro, Cleopatra and Buddha Blaze.
Nameless, Jose Chameleone, Rabbit, AY, Shaa and Maurice Kirya indirectly faced off last Monday when their star rookies took to the podium to show what they were made of. (They are being coached by the mentioned individuals to sing).
Opening the stage with a moving performance was the glowing Myra. Her dress alone was enough to convince any dude she meant business. She uplifted the souls of the fans when she performed ‘No Diggity’ by Black Street Boys. She is being coached by Tanzania’s Shaa.

Kenya’s Fil-ah made girls uneasy with his adorable swag. He Performed Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’. His mentor, Nameless, lost control of his arms, they stayed in the air throughout Fil-ah’s performance.

Uganda’s Richy Kaweesa inspired many with his dress. Even guest judge, Habida, admitted the rookie appealed to her inner self. He sang Bob Marley’s ‘Turn Your Lights Down Low’. He is Maurice Kirya’s rookie.

AY’s Damian Soul made the audience fall in love with Rhumba again! He performed a mind-blowing rendition of Papa Wemba’s ‘Show Me The Way’.

Even though she didn’t have Rihanna’s body, the gorgeous Ugandan rookie, SpiritSoul, made fans envision the Barbadian singer on stage when she performed ‘Show Your Love’. Her sweet voice had a soothing effect to everyone who glued their eyes on her. She is Jose Chameleone’s rookie.

Last but not least is Rabbit’s rookie, Phy. Her coach himself was enough to make her win additional votes. Rabbit was definitely the man of the moment at the show. The way fans creamed for him revealed he was their darling. Phy performed Drake’s ‘Hold On’.
