A Nation’s Shame: Mzee Ojwang’ Languishing In Abject Poverty! (Photos)
Yesterday, the nation was shocked to learn that one of the country’s veteran comedians was ‘stuck’ in his house enable to seek medical attention. It was an eyesore for the country and was it not for Sonko’s intervention, let’s not even imagine what would have happened.
Are our actors and actresses paid so poorly? That’s the question most people asked themselves when images of Mzee Ojwang started flooding the internet.

The ailing veteran actor has been on the screen way back when the country was only crawling. He has performed at national events for four presidents Kenya has have.
One would only imagine an actor whose name the president can pronounce to be earning a considerable chunk. An actor/actress of such caliber must be filthy rich, right? WRONG.
Our national heroes and heroines are best celebrated when they die. The nation is good at celebrating the kinds of Mzee Ojawng when they are gone. Then they can move mountains to give our heroes and heroines a colorful sendoff that will get every tongue talking. Or even a state funeral.
After that, they will never be remembered. Their tale will best be told by the internet that is if anyone dares punch their keyboard to Google them.
Take for example, for all the years Mzee worked for Vitimbi which was a show produced by and broadcasted on our national broadcaster, KBC, they couldn’t even bother to check on the old man to see how he was fairing?
Did it have to take Sonko to rescue a national hero? May God bless Sonko abundantly to continue impacting positively in the lives of the less fortunate.
The case of Ojwang languishing in pauperism is a shame for the government. And the nation. Such kind of persons shouldn’t be even struggling to access medication when they stand out to be counted among those who made people be proud of Kenya.
We should be ashamed of ourselves. Deeply.
