Disability is not inability! She was labelled the most repugnant face of the human species by the internet. But Lizzie Velasquez rose above hate to inspire the world.

Lizzie Velasquez suffers from Lipodystrophy, a medical condition that is characterized by abnormal or degenerative conditions of the body’s adipose tissue. (Loss of fat from one area).

As a result of her condition, Lizzie was tagged as the ugliest woman on the face of planet earth in an eight-second clip that was watched by over four million viewers on YouTube.

Even so, Lizzie wasn’t going to allow critics to turn her condition into a laughing stock, the 26-year shocked the world when she went on a mission to enlighten people about her medical condition.

But that wasn’t enough, according to BBC, the brave Lizzie is now the focus of a new documentary that premieres at the South by Southwest festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas this coming Saturday.
