Kabete MP Murder Suspect Having Serious Private Parts Injuries After Police Torture
The man in police custody over the murder of Kabete MP George Muchai has told court that he was badly tortured by police officers to extract a confession from him.
Simon Wambugu says he has serious injuries on his private parts and needs urgent medical attention after police tortured him to confess to have killed the legislator.
His lawyer Kamati Shamara asked the court to allow his client be treated by a private doctor at his own cost but Resident Magistrate Miriam Mugure directed that Mr Wambugu be taken to Kenyatta National Hospital and a report on his condition be presented to court.
Police asked the court to allow them hold the suspect in custody as they are yet to conclude their investigations into the killing of the MP.
Six other suspects who were nabbed in connection with the murder of the MP are expected to appear in court on March 10 to answer charges that police are yet to reveal.
Muchai, his two bodyguards and the driver were murdered at the beginning of this month when unknown assailants shot them at close range along Kenyatta Avenue near Nyayo House.
Muchai was driving from Westlands where he had a family meeting.
